CNN political commentator Angela Rye came unglued this week during a segment discussing border separations for families who illegally enter the United States, comparing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to slave traders.
Rye became combative and hostile while appearing on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” with host Chris Cuomo and former Trump campaign chief spokesman Jason Miller.
“What I don’t want to enforce is your president’s nonsense,” Rye said, repeatedly referring to Trump as “your president.”
“If you just take yourselves out of it for just a moment, take off the lenses of bigotry for just a moment,” Rye continued.
“Okay, so now we’re getting into the name calling?” Miller responded.
“Um, yes, we are,” Rye admitted.
Back and forth arguing continued between the two until Rye falsely compared ICE agents to slave traders.
“I wish I could tell you where from Africa my ancestors came from, at least part of them, but I wouldn’t know because the same bigots who are sending people back away from their children are the ones who brought my ancestors here on a slave ship,” Rye said.
