On Friday, as the White House celebrated the “Pardoning of the National Thanksgiving Turkey,” a small girl in her mother’s arms recoiled as President Biden moved in toward her personal space, first turning her head away sharply then flinging her elbow up as he tried to poke her with his forefinger.

The video has been widely circulated on social media, with many commenters citing past critiques of Biden’s “creepy” behavior involving girls and women.
The New York Post reported last March that Biden, complimenting an elementary school-age girl during a speech at a Virginia military base, commented, “I love those barrettes in your hair, man. I tell you what, look at her, she looks like she’s 19 years old, sitting there like a little lady with her legs crossed.”
In October 2020, visiting the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami, Biden made a comment referencing seeing girls dancing when they were “four years older.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden is facing criticism after telling a 10-year-old girl she’s “good-looking” and placing his hands on her shoulders roughly a month after pledging to make more of an effort to respect women’s space. At a rally for his 2020 campaign in Houston on Tuesday night, the girl asked Biden a question about the divided state of the country, The New York Times reported.
Biden in response touched on the nation’s immigrant heritage before saying, “I’ll bet you’re as bright as you are good-looking.”
A columnist for The Washington Post wrote in April 2019 of how some women felt Biden was “creepy”:
Joe Biden hugs women, in a way that can look creepy when caught on camera, in a way that can apparently feel creepy to the women experiencing it, as former Nevada lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Lucy Flores shared last week. He came up behind her at a campaign event, she says, leaned in, smelled the back of her head and slowly kissed her hair.
So Joe Biden does more than hug women, apparently — he also does “slow hair kissing.” He’s been doing these sorts of things for years. He’s been doing them, sometimes, to men, as well. Exhibits: placing his hand on the thigh of a state trooper, appearing to nuzzle former senator Al Franken’s ear.
The incident comes amid declining poll numbers for the president. As The Daily Wire reported on November 14:
Democrat President Joe Biden is no longer struggling to swim in competitive states for the upcoming midterms, he is sinking, and sinking fast. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll released on Sunday found that if the midterms were held today, registered voters would vote for Republican candidates for Congress over the Democrat candidates for Congress by a staggering 10-point margin at 51% to 41%. The Washington Post called the findings a “historically strong result for Republicans.”
Overall, Biden’s approval rating is 12 points underwater, with only 41% of registered voters approving of the job that he has done as president while a dominant 53% disapproves of the job that he has done.
