President Donald Trump will sign an executive order to root out federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and initiatives, incoming White House officials told The Daily Wire.
Trump on Monday will issue an executive order “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing,” with the goal of eliminating any DEI programs that have been implemented by the federal government. Trump officials said that the executive order would stipulate that Americans are treated as individuals and not as part of groups.
The scope of this order would include any equity initiatives that have been pushed under former President Joe Biden and slashing things like the “environmental justice” programs that have been established. Trump’s team said that this executive order would include monthly meetings with cabinet leaders to ensure that they were taking action to eliminate DEI from their agencies.
During a press call, an incoming Trump official referenced how the USDA had spent $1 billion on “environmental justice” and how the Treasury Department had diversity training saying that all white people are racist.
“This type of funding, we’re going to end that. These DEI programs, we’re going end that,” the official said.
Leading the charge against DEI will be the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management, Trump’s team said.

Much of Trump’s actions on DEI will go toward reversing an executive order from Biden “to embed equity principles, policies, and approaches across the Federal Government.”
“Because advancing equity requires a systematic approach to embedding fairness in decision-making processes, executive departments and agencies must recognize and work to redress inequities in their policies and programs that serve as barriers to equal opportunity,” Biden wrote on his first day of his office.
Trump has already demanded that the FBI, which just closed down its DEI office, maintain all of its records.
“We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should have closed long ago,” Trump wrote on social media last week. “Why is it that they’re closing one day before the Inauguration of a new Administration? The reason is, CORRUPTION!”
