<p>Former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> said Thursday night that he is canceling a press conference that he scheduled for Monday during which he would show significant evidence that voter fraud occurred in Georgia during the 2020 presidential election.</p>
<p>After being indicted at the start of the week on 13 felony counts in Fulton County related to his alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, Trump said on social media that he was going to be releasing a &#8220;detailed but irrefutable&#8221; report on alleged election fraud &#8220;which took place in Georgia.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me &amp; others – There will be a complete EXONERATION!&#8221; Trump stated, adding that prosecutors should go after those who allegedly rigged the election.</p>
<p>However, Trump&#8217;s lawyers <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-lawyers-urge-him-to-cancel-event-where-hes-expected-to-release-100-page-report-on-election-fraud" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pled</a> with him to not hold the event because it could be used against him in his case. One of his former White House lawyers <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-white-house-lawyer-warns-trump-should-not-hold-election-fraud-press-conference" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> it could lead to an obstruction charge because it could be seen as trying to taint the jury pool.</p>
<p>&#8220;Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged &amp; Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable &amp; Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud &amp; Irregularities in formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment by a publicity &amp; campaign finance seeking D.A., who sadly presides over a record breaking Murder &amp; Violent Crime area, Atlanta,&#8221; Trump wrote on social media. &#8220;Therefore, the News Conference is no longer necessary!&#8221;</p>
<p>The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/15/us/politics/trump-election-report-georgia-indictment.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that the report that Trump was expected to release was a 100+ page document compiled by one of his communications aides who is said to be a “true believer” in the former president’s claims that the election was rigged and stolen.</p>
<p>Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp posted a screenshot of Trump’s statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, and pushed back on the claim that the election was rigged: “The 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen.”</p>

<p>“For nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward — under oath — and prove anything in a court of law,” Kemp said. “Our elections in Georgia are secure, accessible, and fair and will continue to be as long as I am governor. The future of our country is at stake in 2024 and that must be our focus.”</p>
