Former President Donald Trump brought in tens of millions of dollars during an exclusive campaign fundraising event over the weekend.
The Trump campaign and Republican National Committee (RNC) announced on Saturday that Trump’s Palm Beach dinner raised “over $50.5 million – smashing every fundraising record in history for a Republican or Democrat.”
The statement noted that President Joe Biden’s recent event in New York — which featured former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton — raised only half of what Trump raised on Saturday night.
“Tonight will be an incredible night for President Trump and the Republican Party, raising an astounding $50.5 million,” the Trump campaign said in a statement. “It’s clearer than ever that we have the message, the operation, and the money to propel President Trump to victory on November 5.”
The statement said that Americans were “fed up with Biden’s record of failure, from the open southern border and sky-high inflation to the migrant crime crisis that has made everyone less safe.”
Trump posted about the blowout fundraiser on social media, writing: “Biggest night in Fund Raising of ALL TIME!!! Will double up the Biden number of last week at Radio City. People are desperate for change. They want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Trump briefly addressed reporters outside the event, saying that “people are just wanting change.”

“The rich people want it, the poor people want it. Everybody wants change,” he said. “The country is really doing poorly. We’re a laughingstock all over the world. We’re gonna get that change very quickly. And this has been some incredible evening before it even starts because people wanted to contribute to a cause of Making America Great Again, and that’s what’s happened. We’re going to Make America Great Again, everyone knows it. The election is going to be in now a little more than six months, and it’s going to be the most important, I believe, election we’ve ever had. I think it’s gonna go down as the most important date in the history of our country. That’s November 5th, will be the most important date in the history of our country.”
