Trump Blasts Those Cheering Man Who Allegedly Murdered Insurance CEO: ‘A Terrible Thing’

President-elect Donald Trump slammed those who are praising 26-year-old Luigi Mangione for allegedly murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson earlier this month, saying that those people have a “sickness.”

Trump made the remarks during a press conference on Monday from Mar-a-Lago when he was asked what he thought about some people’s positive responses to the assassination of Thompson.

“I think it’s a terrible thing,” Trump said. “I think it’s really terrible that some people seem to admire him, like him; and I was happy to see that it wasn’t specific to this gentleman that was killed. It’s just an overall sickness as opposed to a specific sickness.”

“That was a terrible thing. It was cold-blooded, just a cold-blooded, horrible killing; and how people can like this guy is — that’s a sickness actually,” Trump continued. “That’s really very bad, especially the way it was done. It was so bad. Right in the back. Very bad.”

Trump added that it was “hard to believe” that people could even think that murdering another person was a good thing.

“A thing like that, you can’t believe that some people — and maybe it’s fake news. I don’t know,” he said. “It’s hard to believe that that can even be thought of, but it seems that there’s a certain appetite for him. I don’t get it.”
