<p>Former President Donald Trump slammed Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday after it was reported that the Democratic nominee intends to visit the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/border-crisis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">U.S. southern border</a> later this week.</p>
<p>CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/23/politics/harris-campaign-possible-southern-border-trip/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Monday that Harris will visit the U.S.-Mexico border during a campaign stop in Arizona on Friday as her opponent continues to focus on illegal immigration and the record number of border encounters under the Biden-Harris administration. Trump blasted Harris&#8217; plan in a Truth Social post, saying it&#8217;s a &#8220;disgrace&#8221; that the vice president &#8220;waited so long.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;After almost four years, Border Czar Kamala Harris has decided, for political reasons, that it’s time for her to go to our broken Southern Border. What a disgrace that she waited so long, allowing millions of people to enter our Country from prisons, mental institutions, and criminal cells all over the World, not just South America, many of those coming are terrorists, and at a level never seen before!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113193502568945796" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>. &#8220;She’s trying to con the public like she did a good job at the Border when, in fact, she has destroyed the very fabric of our Nation allowing 21 Million people in from places unknown….&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;….When Kamala is seen at the Border on Friday, she will pass Hundreds of Miles of Wall that was built by TRUMP, and it is Wall that WORKS!&#8221; Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113193502030063439" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>. &#8220;When she speaks, be advised that this woman has allowed more than 21 million people into our Country, totally unvetted, and from places unknown. They are now creating criminal havoc all throughout the Country. Every State is a Border State! When she speaks, I hope everybody remembers that she has caused our cities, towns, and Country itself, tremendous damage, and only I can fix it!&#8221;</p>
<p>President Joe Biden put Harris in charge of addressing the &#8220;root causes&#8221; of migration shortly after the Democratic leaders were sworn into office in 2021. Since then, Customs and Border Protection has <a href="https://homeland.house.gov/2024/05/22/startling-stats-factsheet-biden-administration-on-track-to-reach-10-million-encounters-nationwide-before-end-of-fiscal-year/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> around 10 million encounters along the southern border. Nearly two million &#8220;gotaways&#8221; have also been reported since Biden and Harris took office.</p>
<p>The Democratic nominee&#8217;s visit to the southern border was set up after some of her campaign officials expressed concern about her polling on the issue of immigration, according to CNN. An Associated Press <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/americans-view-harris-as-more-honest-and-disciplined-slightly-favor-trump-on-economy-and-immigration-ap-norc-poll-finds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poll</a> released last month shows that Trump is trusted by 45% of voters on immigration compared to 38% who trust Harris more.</p>

<p>CNN contributor Scott Jennings argued on Monday that Harris&#8217; plan to visit the border &#8220;is not going to change&#8221; how voters view her on immigration.</p>
<p>&#8220;The American people are going to see [Trump] as tough on it, tougher than [Harris] will ever want to be on it,&#8221; Jennings said. &#8220;They don&#8217;t trust Democrats on this issue because of the last three-and-a-half years.&#8221;</p>
