General Francis L. Donovan, head of U.S. Southern Command, also praised the joint operation with Venezuela: &#8220;We extend our gratitude to the Venezuelan security forces for their support to the successful joint operation against a Tren de Aragua compound that resulted in the death of the narco-terrorist organization’s leader &#8230; Guerrero was a wanted fugitive charged by the U.S. Department of Justice with ordering, directing, and facilitating acts of terrorism and violence in the United States.&#8221;
War Secretary Pete Hegseth describe the operation as proof that the United States and Venezuela were committed to taking the fight to those who would participate in narco-terrorism and &#8220;deny them any safe haven.&#8221;

The United States successfully eradicated the New World Screwworm in the late 1960s, but Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says that former President Joe Biden&#8217;s open borders helped clear the way for its return.

WASHINGTON — The State Department is flipping the script on mass migration, framing the issue as a human rights concern and pushing host governments to share information on the negative effects of mass migration on their countries.
Historically, when lawmakers warn of a humanitarian crisis involving migrants, they are referring to the migrants themselves, and calling for them to be admitted into countries like the United States. But the Trump State Department is taking a different approach, warning that mass migration is linked to violent crime and human rights abuses that impact both the migrants and the countries they are entering.
In an internal cable exclusively obtained by The Daily Wire, the State Department warns that these threaten national sovereignty, rule of law, and American security. It specifically states in the cable: &#8220;Mass and illegal migration is a major human rights concern.&#8221;
The cable calls for diplomats at State Department posts around the world to regularly engage with host governments of migrant populations and track data about the violent crimes and human rights abuses associated with these migrant populations, as well as their impact on local crime.
&#8220;Crimes and human rights abuses perpetrated by migrants, as well as the activities of drug cartels, narco-terrorist organizations, and human trafficking syndicates that move them, result in widespread violence, corruption, forced displacement, and exploitation across the region,&#8221; the cable reads. &#8220;Facilitators of mass and illegal migration routinely engage in human trafficking, sexual violence, extortion, forced labor, and narcotics production—particularly of cocaine, synthetic opioids, and methamphetamine—contributing to ongoing national security threats, human rights abuses, and rule of law challenges for the United States and its hemispheric neighbors.&#8221;
State also orders its posts to engage with government officials, local businesses, media, &#8220;relevant civil society organizations,&#8221; and other affected individuals in order to obtain a full picture of the effects of mass migration on public order and security. The State Department posts will report claims of crimes and human rights abuses by these migrant populations, and they&#8217;ll provide analysis of government responses.
&#8220;The criminal networks and routes used for mass and illegal migration flows are used by transnational criminal organizations to facilitate the U.S.-bound movement of illicit commodities and create conditions for rampant crime and human rights abuses,&#8221; the cable reads.
&#8220;Within the United States, the influx of narcotics has led to an unprecedented level or overdose deaths, while economic migration undermines economic security for American workers and affects community safety. Similarly, criminal activity perpetrated by migrants and those facilitating mass and illegal migration routinely overwhelms and threatens American communities and their safety.&#8221;
If law enforcement are unduly favoring migrants at the expense of citizens, State wants to know. It also wants to know if governments or media are covering up or diluting information about migrant crime and punishment — or the lack thereof.

&#8220;Reporting on incidents affecting U.S. citizens or American economic and security interests is especially welcomed and encouraged,&#8221; the cable states.
The point of the message, the cable says, is to &#8220;strengthen regional resolve to combat human rights abuses endemic to mass and illegal migration, including those involving organized criminal activity, sexual assault, and the destruction of public order, as well as to aggregate reporting for the 2025 human rights reports and other human rights-related engagements.&#8221;
The State Department will encourage governments facing migrant influxes to strengthen laws and authorities responsible for making sure that migrants are punished for crimes, without bias, to reinforce borders and shut down corruption, to discourage governments from displacing or seizing property from citizens, to limit government programs that are enabling mass migration and putting the public at risk, and more.
In talking points included in the cable, State urges posts to note that the United States is &#8220;deeply concerned about the convergence of mass and illegal migration, organized crime, and human trafficking across Latin America, which has fueled violence, corruption, and human rights abuses throughout the region.&#8221;
&#8220;Mass and illegal migration is a major human rights concern,&#8221; another talking point states. &#8220;Criminal groups, including cartels and terrorist organizations, control key migration routes, exploiting vulnerable people through kidnapping, extortion, sexual violence, and human trafficking via forced labor, sex trafficking, and child sex trafficking, making mass migration a significant human rights crisis in Latin America.&#8221;
The talking points argue that mass migration has put an enormous strain on United States asylum systems, resulting in &#8220;an overwhelming number of protections claims and a windfall for immigration lawyers and mass migration-promoting NGOs.&#8221;
State will be encouraging host governments to prioritize enforcement of their laws protecting their borders and holding human rights abusers accountable. That includes abuses committed by migrants and those facilitating mass migration or illegal immigration. State will also be highlighting how mass and illegal migration affects the citizens of the host governments, and the duty that these governments have to protect their own citizens, specifically when it comes to border enforcement and judicial cooperation.

&#8220;Respect for national sovereignty, human rights, and the rule of law is critical to international cooperation, domestic prosperity, and human flourishing,&#8221; another talking point states.
The United States, in particular, will highlight the threat of violent Islamists as well as Russian, Iranian, and Chinese nationals who are &#8220;seeking to take advantage of mass and illegal migration pathways to enter the Western Hemisphere.&#8221; State will also point to the mass migration of Venezuelans under Nicolás Maduro, border disputes between Chile and Peru, and more to show that these issues are relevant not only to the U.S. but to, many governments throughout the Western Hemisphere.
&#8220;We call on your government to work closely with local communities, law enforcement, and civil society to develop transparent, effective policies that uphold sovereignty, maintain law and order, and protect human rights and fundamental freedoms,&#8221; reads another suggested talking point. &#8220;The United States stands ready, willing, and able to assist countries in solving the global crisis of mass and illegal migration, particularly our neighbors in Latin America.&#8221;
And the final talking point states: &#8220;As President Trump stated, &#8216;A nation without borders is not a nation,&#8217; emphasizing that safeguarding sovereignty and security is essential for the well-being of all citizens.&#8221;
The State Department believes that the mass and illegal migration in Latin America has created possibly the &#8220;most serious humanitarian and security challenges facing the Western Hemisphere,&#8221; pointing to the criminal groups exploiting the immigration routes for trafficking both humans and drugs. It also highlights the massive amount of sexual violence in Latin America due to the flow of migration throughout the region.
Doctors without Borders documented 676 cases of sexual assault in 2023 in Panama&#8217;s Darién Gap, the State Department notes, &#8220;indicating migration trains were easily exploited by armed gangs and traffickers.&#8221; And State&#8217;s 2025 Trafficking in Persons Report for Guatemala found that even local police and border officials extorted or coerced migrants into sexual exploitation.
&#8220;This demonstrates how uncontrolled migration corridors enable criminal activity, facilitate human rights abuses, and expose migrants—especially women and children—to extreme violence,&#8221; the cable notes.
&#8220;Migrants and local populations alike suffer from systemic human rights abuses,&#8221; State adds. &#8220;The infiltration of cartels into law enforcement and political systems also undermines the rule of law. The production and trafficking of cocaine and synthetic opioids through Mexico and Central America have fueled a public health catastrophe in the United States, where overdose deaths have reached historic highs.&#8221;
The move comes on the heels of another massive action from the State Department. In late November, immediately following a fatal attack on two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. by an Afghan national, State directed its posts to refuse visas to Afghan nationals using Afghan passports, ordering diplomats and consular officers to refuse “all otherwise eligible Afghan nationals” whether they’re applying for a non-immigrant visa, special immigrant visa, or immigrant visa.
The move was intended to “ensure that such applications have undergone necessary security vetting and to validate screening protocols ensuring the applicant’s identity and eligibility for a visa under U.S. law.&#8221;
The man who shot the National Guardsmen was 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/afghan-national-in-custody-for-national-guard-attack-was-in-country-illegally" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire reported.</a> Lakanwal was let into the country during President Joe Biden’s administration in 2021, admitted as part of the former president’s “Operation Allies Welcome,” the Afghan refugee program in the wake of Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal.

An illegal immigrant hit an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer with his car as the officer attempted to arrest him during a Sunday traffic stop in Florida, The Daily Wire has learned.
Henry Isaul Garcia reversed his car — which was carrying three other illegal immigrants — into the ICE officer’s leg before “nearly crushing him,” the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. The Guatemalan citizen then hit multiple ICE vehicles during the traffic stop in Homestead, Florida, before speeding off and colliding with a black utility van.

Garcia and his illegal immigrant passengers then ran out of the car, but were ultimately nabbed by the feds, according to DHS.
Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said “sanctuary politicians” who “have openly encouraged and provided tips for how to evade our ICE officers” are to blame for the latest attack.
“We are praying for the speedy recovery of our law enforcement officer,” McLaughlin told The Daily Wire. “The violence against our brave ICE law enforcement must come to an end. This is the second incident in a week where an officer was injured while arresting an illegal alien.”

The latest attack comes amid a 1,000% increase in assaults on ICE officers as they carry out President Donald Trump’s mass deportation campaign.
In one recent example, an ICE officer in Chicago was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-immigrant-shot-and-killed-after-wounding-ice-agent-in-chicago">hit and dragged by an illegal immigrant</a> driver. The federal officer responded by shooting the driver, who was later pronounced dead.
“This type of rhetoric is contributing to our ICE officers facing a more than 1000% increase in assaults against them. It is time to tone down the rhetoric,” said McLaughlin.

The injured ICE officer is in stable condition after being treated at a local hospital, DHS said. The group of illegal immigrants was also transported to a hospital, before they were discharged and booked into ICE detention.
Garcia crossed the United States-Mexico border illegally into Eagle Pass, Texas, in March 2022, when more than <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters" target="_blank" rel="noopener">222,000 migrants</a> streamed into the country with the promise of the Biden administration’s problematic catch-and-release policy.

For over two centuries, America’s decennial census has served as the constitutional foundation for fair representation in Congress, the accurate distribution of federal resources, and the determination of our President through the Electoral College. The 2020 census shattered that tradition with brazen manipulation, inaccurate data, and a refusal to ensure illegal immigrants aren’t counted when determining each state’s number of Congressional seats. Meaning states that harbored illegal immigrants and ignored federal law shortchanged law-abiding states.
That’s why I am introducing the <a href="https://mcusercontent.com/d4254037a343b683d142111e0/files/aae8dae1-a65f-58d1-a37e-2293fd46880f/PFLUGE_104_xml.pdf">COUNT Act</a> to codify <a href="https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/DCPD-201900466/pdf/DCPD-201900466.pdf">Executive Order 13880</a> into law, which ensures the U.S. Census Bureau conducts accurate census counts based on citizenship and prohibits the bureau from manipulating data. The need for this legislation has never been greater.
When Biden took office, he immediately moved to ensure that future censuses would perpetuate these problems, dismantling Trump’s efforts to collect citizenship data. This was a blatant attempt to orchestrate the most sophisticated attack on future census integrity since Reconstruction. The same regime that demolished border security and flooded America with millions of illegal immigrants then systematically destroyed the tools needed to exclude them from congressional representation. They killed the citizenship data collection project and deployed “differential privacy,” a euphemism for data manipulation, to scramble future census numbers. 
This was a calculated preparation for electoral manipulation disguised as statistical innovation.
The Democrats figured out the perfect con: transform illegal immigration into political power while American citizens pay the price. Every illegal immigrant counted toward congressional representation dilutes the voice of our own American citizens. States that enforce immigration law lose representation to sanctuary states that harbor criminals. The message couldn’t be clearer: break America’s laws, gain political power; follow America’s laws, lose your voice.
Consider this: a district in California packed with illegal immigrants wields the same congressional power as a district of law-abiding citizens in Kansas. The result is that American citizens’ votes carry different weights depending on how many lawbreakers their state harbors.
This is taxation without representation in reverse — representation without citizenship.
The political ramifications are staggering and immediate. In 2022, the Census Bureau was finally forced to acknowledge the extent of this scandal: Republican states lost at least three congressional seats while Democratic strongholds gained seats they didn’t deserve. Florida should have gained two additional seats. Texas was shortchanged by at least one seat. Meanwhile, states like New York and California — which openly defy federal immigration laws — were rewarded with extra representation. This isn’t just about numbers; it’s about raw political power redistributed through census inaccuracies.
The Electoral College implications alone should terrify every American who believes in a legitimate election process. States that gained unearned congressional seats also gained unearned electoral votes, potentially swinging presidential elections for decades. The 2020 census problems didn’t just distort one count — they skewed the next decade of American politics. Every close congressional race, every tight Electoral College count, every razor-thin Senate battle now carries the taint of inaccurate representation built into the system.
Federal funding follows the same corrupted formula, meaning billions in taxpayer dollars flow to sanctuary states and cities based on their inflated illegal populations. Law-abiding states subsidize the very lawlessness that steals their political representation. It’s the perfect Democrat scheme: reward illegal immigration with congressional seats, electoral votes, and federal cash, while punishing states that enforce American law.
The <a href="https://mcusercontent.com/d4254037a343b683d142111e0/files/aae8dae1-a65f-58d1-a37e-2293fd46880f/PFLUGE_104_xml.pdf">COUNT Act</a> (Citizen Only Updated National Tally Act) will create a block-level citizenship database, implementing a mandate that will require the Census Bureau to collect legitimate, verifiable citizenship data. This ensures, for the first time, that the bureau has the necessary information to ensure that only American citizens are counted in future censuses for the purpose of determining access to federal grant money and congressional apportionment. And while President Trump’s executive order in his first term was a critical step to ensure an accurate and legitimate decennial census, codification through my legislation is essential to prevent the census from being weaponized against Republicans in the future.

The stakes extend far beyond statistics — this is about American citizens, and only American citizens, having the ability to decide who represents them in Washington. Federal funding formulas distribute hundreds of billions of dollars annually based on census data, creating a Democrat money-laundering operation that transforms illegal immigration into political slush funds. When sanctuary states inflate their counts through illegal residents, they don’t just steal congressional seats — they steal federal education dollars, healthcare funding, and infrastructure investments that should flow to states with actual American citizens.
The Republican Party faces an existential crisis: how do you win elections when Democrats can manufacture congressional districts through illegal immigration? Every new illegal immigrant isn’t just a border security problem — they’re a potential representation diluter, reducing Republican influence even when they can’t legally vote. Homan, a longtime Border Patrol officer who was named border czar by President Donald Trump, joined host Laura Ingraham to share his reaction to a recent Hunter Biden interview. During that interview, an emotional Hunter Biden had lashed out at President Trump&#8217;s border policies and suggested that all illegal immigrants in the United States should simply be allowed to remain. WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump signed a bipartisan bill Wednesday aimed at ending the fentanyl drug crisis while surrounded by mothers and fathers of young people who lost their lives to the deadly drug.
&#8220;We&#8217;ll be getting the drug dealers, pushers, and peddlers off our street, and we will not rest until we have ended the drug overdose epidemic,&#8221; he promised attendees in the East Room of the White House on Wednesday afternoon. Trump promised that the legislation would take &#8220;a historic step toward justice for every family touched by the fentanyl scourge.&#8221;
The HALT Fentanyl Act permanently schedules fentanyl-related substances as &#8220;Fentanyl Analogs,&#8221; a classification that would expire at the end of the month without the new legislation. An analog is a copycat fentanyl that has been chemically changed just enough to skirt the law, but is just as deadly. The White House argues it must be prosecuted in the same way.

<p class="paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph" data-uri="cms.cnn.com/_components/paragraph/instances/cmd5yzrwf000d3b6nw7knhfd3@published" data-editable="text" data-component-name="paragraph" data-article-gutter="true" data-analytics-observe="off">&#8220;First, we close the loopholes criminals use to skirt around the law,&#8221; the document notes. &#8220;Second, we make it easier for law enforcement to prosecute those criminals.&#8221;
The new legislation amends the Controlled Substances Act to permanently classify these illicit fentanyl knockoffs as Schedule 1. And it fulfills some key campaign promises of Trump, who has heavily messaged to his supporters that he will rein in the fentanyl crisis.
&#8220;For four years, Joe Biden and Democrats hardly muttered a word about the fentanyl crisis, which remains the number one leading cause of death in our country,&#8221; White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared in a statement ahead of the signing. &#8220;President Trump has made securing the border and ending the drug crisis a top priority, and today, he will further follow through on his commitment to the courageous fentanyl moms and dads who elected him to Make America Safe Again.&#8221;
A number of top Trump supporters who have been aggressive on border policy were also present at the event: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, Fox News contributor Sara Carter, U.S. Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, and Senator Jim Banks of Indiana filled the first few rows and were named by the president.
House Speaker Mike Johnson arrived slightly late to the bill signing and quietly slid into a seat in the back, where a delighted mother and son duo were quick to take photos with him.
The president invited several of the angel parents in attendance to speak at the podium. One father, whose son Drew was tragically killed by fentanyl, told Trump on Wednesday afternoon: &#8220;Thank you, Mr. President, for stopping the border crossings. Full stop.&#8221;
&#8220;We were being gaslit,&#8221; he added, &#8220;and you came and lit a fire to that story, and we&#8217;re a lot safer for it.

Recently released memos from former Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217;s 2024 presidential campaign reveal the Democrat&#8217;s public relations struggles in the waning days of her failed White House bid.
The memos — first reported by Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf in the forthcoming book &#8220;2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Left Lost America&#8221; — were written by Maria Comella, a PR consultant who also <a href="https://www.comella.co/contact" target="_blank" rel="noopener">served as</a> chief strategist for Chris Christie&#8217;s 2024 presidential campaign.
In multiple instances, Comella <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000197-e956-d05a-afb7-ed5645b00000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">urged</a> Harris to &#8220;Call out the Democratic Party for missing the mark on public safety in US cities.&#8221; The memo notes that Harris should demonstrate her willingness to criticize Democrats on top of &#8220;Trump&#8217;s chaos.&#8221;
The memo also urges Harris to appear on Joe Rogan&#8217;s podcast, noting that the host &#8220;will be looking for authenticity and it&#8217;s an opportunity to differentiate in style. Be honest about mistakes. There is a natural leadership contrast with Trump who can never admit when he is wrong.&#8221;
President Donald Trump joined Rogan&#8217;s show in late October, after which Rogan <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-rogan-endorses-trump-for-president" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed.</a> In response, Harris&#8217;s campaign <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-rogan-says-harris-campaign-lied-about-her-failed-appearance-on-his-show-brings-receipts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complained</a> that Rogan misled them in a malicious attempt to sabotage her presidential run.
Rogan retorted that the Harris campaign &#8220;never agreed to do the show. None of that&#8217;s true … They also said that they sent someone down here to the studio to do a walk-through of the set. That&#8217;s not true.&#8221;
The <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000197-e958-da98-a3b7-f95a2eec0000">memo</a> lists former The View cohost Meredith Vieira and sports podcaster Bill Simmons as alternatives to Rogan. Harris never joined Rogan, Vieira, or Simmons, but did make an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-blasted-for-going-on-explicit-call-her-daddy-podcast-as-americans-are-dying" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appearance</a> on the explicit podcast &#8220;Call Her Daddy.&#8221;
In accompanying memos published in the same book, Harris was urged to distance herself from then-President Joe Biden, who had only recently dropped out of the race.
Referring to the Biden administration&#8217;s disastrous border policies, the <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000197-e958-de82-a7d7-ff5cedae0000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">memo</a> told Harris not to &#8220;waste time defending what has happened. Acknowledge the mistake, define the problem and how we have to act moving forward.&#8221;
&#8220;It turns out it is okay to acknowledge mistakes and failures– particularly if it shows voters where the Vice President is different from President Biden,&#8221; the memo reads.
Harris infamously refused to critique Biden&#8217;s handling of the border in a &#8220;60 Minutes&#8221; interview, during which she was asked <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-repeatedly-refuses-to-say-it-was-a-mistake-to-allow-illegal-aliens-to-flood-into-u-s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">repeatedly</a> about the issue. Instead, she blamed the massive influx of illegal aliens on Congress.
The memos also mention issues with vocal Trump opponents, including former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).
&#8220;In many instances, the voices who are willing to speak out publicly in support of Vice President Harris are imperfect messengers who are viewed with a skeptical eye by the audiences you still need to persuade,&#8221; the memo reads.
The book in which these memos were published also <a href="https://www.politico.com/playbook" target="_blank" rel="noopener">details</a> how Harris was urged to steer away from using the events of Jan. 6th as the crux of her argument in a late October <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/kamala-harris-speech-ellipse-donald-trump-2024-election/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">speech</a> in Washington, D.C.
Instead, Harris concluded her speech  by saying Trump &#8220;is the person who stood at this very spot nearly four years ago and sent an armed mob to the United States Capitol to overturn the will of the people in a free and fair election, an election that he knew he lost.&#8221;

On Sunday, Trump border czar Tom Homan condemned Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) for making a taxpayer funded trip to El Salvador to meet with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant who was deported from the United States last month.
Homan redirected a question from ABC&#8217;s &#8220;This Week&#8221; by anchor Jonathan Karl when pressed about Abrego Garcia, who has been imprisoned in El Salvador, his home country. Abrego Garcia&#8217;s legal team has been <a href="https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69777799/1/abrego-garcia-v-noem/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fighting</a> the federal government in a high-profile court to secure his return to the United States. Van Hollen, who claims Abrego Garcia is a Maryland “constituent” who endured an &#8220;abduction and unlawful deportation,&#8221; met the man on Thursday.

&#8220;Sen. Van Hollen is — obviously got a chance to meet with [Abrego Garcia], but he had to travel to El Salvador to get any information. Is (sic) that concern you at all? I mean, these are people sent by — I mean, in his case, sent by the United States, and not even a U.S. senator could get any information about his whereabouts, or the condition of his incarceration, without actually going down and making the trip to El Salvador himself?&#8221; Karl asked.
&#8220;Well, he obviously knew his whereabouts, because he went there to see him. But you know, what bothers me more than that is a U.S. senator traveled to El Salvador on taxpayer dime to meet with an MS-13 gang member, public safety threat, terrorist. I mean, in the meantime, the day before he traveled, an illegal alien was arrested for murder, was released to the streets rather than honoring an ICE detainer in his very own state,&#8221; Homan retorted.
The Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/facilitate-not-effectuate-wh-responds-to-scotus-ruling-on-mistakenly-deported-salvadoran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accuses</a> Abrego Garcia of being a member of MS-13, which has been <a href="https://www.state.gov/designation-of-international-cartels/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">designated</a> as a foreign terror organization, and has released <a href="https://www.justice.gov/ag/media/1396906/dl?inline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">documents</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senator-van-hollen-did-not-ask-deported-illegal-immigrant-ms-13" target="_blank" rel="noopener">photo</a> evidence to substantiate the affiliation. Abrego Garcia&#8217;s attorneys <a href="https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/69777799/1/abrego-garcia-v-noem/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deny</a> the claim.
On CNN, Van Hollen <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senator-van-hollen-did-not-ask-deported-illegal-immigrant-ms-13" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dared</a> the Trump administration to bring up the gang affiliation claim in Abrego Garcia’s ongoing deportation case. The senator also <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1913954303418474622" target="_blank" rel="noopener">conceded</a> during an interview on &#8220;Fox News Sunday&#8221; that his trip to El Salvador was funded by taxpayer dollars.
Homan went on to criticize Van Hollen over the border crisis during President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration.
&#8220;What concerns me is Van Hollen never went to the border the last four years under Joe Biden, when he had a 600% increase in sex trafficking in women and children,&#8221; Homan said. &#8220;You have a record number of known inspected terrorists crossing that border. You had a quarter of a million Americans die from fentanyl overdose because of the open border. You had over 4,000 illegal aliens died making that journey, which is an historic record. What shocks me is he&#8217;s remained silent on the travesty that happened on the southern border. Many people died, thousands of people died. I met with hundreds of Angel moms and dads who buried their children that were murdered by illegal aliens. How many Angel moms and dads has he met in the state of Maryland? That&#8217;s what concerns me.&#8221;

“It’s appalling and sad that Senator Van Hollen and the Democrats applauding his trip to El Salvador today are incapable of having any shred of common sense or empathy for their own constituents and our citizens,” Leavitt said.

WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump signed a presidential memorandum aimed at blocking illegal immigrants from receiving Social Security benefits, arguing that only legal American citizens should be eligible for benefits.
The move aims to remove monetary incentives for illegal aliens to come to the United States, the White House explained in a fact sheet released Tuesday, noting that Trump has repeatedly promised to take illegal immigrants off Social Security, and that the president signed an executive order in February ordering taxpayer resources not be used to incentivize or support illegal immigration.
Under President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration, more than 2 million illegal immigrants were assigned Social Security numbers in just the 2024 fiscal year, the White House said. The White House argues that the Biden administration&#8217;s actions continue to steal money and important services from American citizens.
The president&#8217;s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/04/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-prevents-illegal-aliens-from-obtaining-social-security-act-benefits/">memorandum</a> directs his administration to make sure that illegal aliens are not receiving funds from any Social Security programs, prioritizing enforcement actions against any grantees or sub-grantees that fail to verify eligibility or stop payments to deceased or ineligible people who are receiving these benefits.

The Social Security Administration’s Inspector General must investigate the earnings reports for individuals who are 100 or older and have mismatched records, in order to combat identity theft, the memorandum says. Additionally, Trump&#8217;s action expands the Social Security Administration’s fraud prosecutor program to 50 or more U.S. Attorney&#8217;s offices across the United States, and establishes a Medicaid fraud-prosecution program in 15 U.S. Attorney&#8217;s offices.
The administration has already stopped over 1,000 immigrants with ties to terrorist activity or criminal records from receiving Social Security benefits, the White House said. As part of its efforts to remove illegal immigrants from the country, the Trump administration has also launched the CBP Home app, which offers illegals an opportunity to &#8220;self-deport.&#8221;
According to estimates from the Congressional Budget Office, the Biden border agenda cost federal and state taxpayers over $16.2 billion. The Federation for American Immigration Reform has calculated that American taxpayers spent at least $182 billion annually covering the costs of 20 million immigrants and their children who entered the country illegally, the White House said. That figure includes $66.4 billion in federal expenses, and $115.6 billion in state and local expenses.

Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made it clear on Friday that he had absolutely zero interest in discussing the recently-secured state of the United States-Mexico border.
Mayorkas, when confronted at an airport by The Blaze national correspondent Julio Rosas, made every effort instead to beat a hasty retreat rather than answer questions about the fact that the border — which was open by design during his tenure as part of President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration — has been largely secured since the day President Donald Trump returned to the White House.

Mayorkas seemed approachable enough at first, saying it was &#8220;a pleasure&#8221; and offering a hand to shake as Rosas introduced himself and stated that he was with Blaze media.
&#8220;I just wanted to ask you how it feels to see —&#8221; Rosas had not even gotten his first question out before Mayorkas waved him off, saying, &#8220;Not right now.&#8221;
&#8220;— that the United States has a secure border now that President Trump is in office, as opposed to when you were Secretary of Homeland Security,&#8221; Rosas finished, and Mayorkas kept walking.
Mayorkas kept his mouth shut as Rosas followed up by asking whether he had &#8220;any regrets&#8221; with regard to allowing the border to remain open, especially given the new data that says under Trump&#8217;s DHS, &#8220;border crossings are down 95%.&#8221;
&#8220;Do you regret allowing Tren de Aragua to gain a foothold in the United States?&#8221; Rosas asked, but again, Mayorkas remained silent. &#8220;Do you have anything to say, sir, about your time as Homeland Security Secretary? facilitating an open border?&#8221;
The former DHS chief boarded an escalator, but Rosas met him at the bottom with another question: &#8220;I mean, it was a big issue, sir, that&#8217;s one of the reasons why President Trump won re-election. You don&#8217;t have anything to say about it?&#8221;
Rosas went on to ask whether Mayorkas had regrets about the thousands of migrant children the Biden administration had &#8220;lost track of&#8221; after they came into the United States — and whether he had anything to say about the fact that lax policies under his tenure had actually helped to increase widespread support for the mass deportations Trump promised and had already begun to deliver.
Mayorkas still said nothing, and exited the airport.
