WARNING: Graphic language ‘cuz, you know, liberals.
The Trump administration will test out the national alert system, set up by former President Barack Obama, on Thursday by sending a message to all U.S. mobile phones.
Phones will make a loud beeping sound — similar to the sound from an AMBER alert — and vibrate, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which will send the alert. The message, the first to be sent on the new system, will be headlined “Presidential Alert” and say “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
Because the system is meant to alert citizens to danger, no one can opt out of the program. What’s more, the president alone decides when to use the system.
As they do, liberals lost their minds at the news.
“If the idea of @realDonaldTrump being able to text you isn’t enough to get you to register and vote then I don’t know what the fuck to tell you,” wrote film producer Judd Apatow.
His Twitter feed caught fire.
“Uncle Grumpy” went further.
Yup, that’s how much liberals hate America’s president — even in the case of a national emergency, they can’t bear to hear a word from him. But for the record, the emergency alert system for the president was authorized by Congress in 2015 and says the system “shall not be used to transmit a message that does not relate to a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster or threat to public safety.”
So, everyone can calm down. Take a deep breath, stretch a little, go play with your kids. It’ll all be fine.
