<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tim-allen">Tim Allen</a> has finally weighed in on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/disney">Disney</a>&#8216;s latest Pixar film &#8220;Lightyear&#8221; — and he said that there&#8217;s just &#8220;no connection&#8221; to his famed character in the &#8220;Toy Story&#8221; franchise, though he wished there was.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/heres-why-tim-allen-wasnt-picked-to-voice-buzz-lightyear-in-lightyear-movie">69-year-old</a> actor spoke to &#8220;<a href="https://extratv.com/2022/06/29/tim-allen-reacts-to-lightyear-with-chris-evans-exclusive/">Extra</a>&#8221; Wednesday about the standalone animated movie, which was billed as an origin story of his spaceman character Buzz Lightyear. In the company&#8217;s new animated movie, actor Chris Evans is the voice of the space ranger.</p>
<p>&#8220;The short answer is I&#8217;ve stayed out of this because it has nothing to do [with my character],&#8221; the &#8220;Last Man Standing&#8221; star shared. &#8220;This is a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies.&#8221;</p>

<p>Allen said he spoke to Pixar about a potential standalone movie for his character &#8220;many years ago&#8221; and that he thought they were working on a &#8220;live-action&#8221; movie with &#8220;real humans&#8221; for the latest film.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a wonderful story,&#8221; Tim said of the new movie. &#8220;It just doesn&#8217;t seem to have any connection to the toy, and it&#8217;s a little … I don&#8217;t know. It just has no relationship to Buzz. It&#8217;s just no connection. I wish there was a better connection to this.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The Santa Clause&#8221; star explained that any &#8220;Toy Story&#8221; movie about Buzz would have to include Woody, who was voiced in the films by Tom Hanks.</p>
<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s really no &#8216;Toy Story&#8217; Buzz without Woody,&#8221; Allen told the outlet.</p>
<p>Actress Patricia Heaton&#8217;s tweet <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actress-slams-disney-for-replacing-tim-allen-with-chris-evans-in-lightyear-asks-why-they-would-completely-castrate-this-iconic-character">went viral</a> recently after she asked her fans why Disney would &#8220;castrate&#8221; the &#8220;iconic, beloved character&#8221; Allen made in the &#8220;Toy Story&#8221; franchise — after seeing the trailer for the new film.</p>
