The Hollywood trial of the century between Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard had another insane twist on Monday when a woman held up a baby inside the courtroom and yelled to the actor, “This baby is yours!”
“Johnny, I love you! Our souls are connected,” the woman yelled as she held the infant, the Daily Mail reported.
“Depp simply turned to her, smiled and waved – as he often has during strange moments of the trial, which enters its seventh week on Tuesday, according to Law & Crime,” the Mail reported. “The woman then held up the baby and claimed Depp was the father as a deputy approached her. The deputy escorted the woman from the courtroom, clipping off her wristband that allowed her access to the trial.”
Angenette Levy of the Law & Crime Network offered a first-hand account.
“As we were breaking, taking that morning break, everybody stood up, right, and the camera goes up to the seal because Judge [Penney] Azcarate walks out of the courtroom. All of a sudden this woman … stands up in the back of the courtroom with her baby and she says, ‘Johnny, I love you, our souls are connected.'”
“And he kind of turned and waved as he does sometimes. And everybody waved and we saw one of the deputies come toward her and she held up the baby and she said, ‘This baby is yours.’ And everybody was like, oh, whoa, OK. And the deputies were like ‘you’re out of here.’ So the deputy got her out of the courtroom. She was removed. She’s like, Yeah, OK, and they clipped off her wristband,” Levy said.
“But obviously, even if the judge is not on the bench, she can’t be doing things like that. And, you know, yelling out that your souls are connected and that you love somebody, and then other people started chiming in as well. So it was pretty wild. So, not testimony, but that is something you didn’t see on the live feed. You might have heard a little snippet of it.”
“I doubt it, but it’s something I saw because I was literally standing right across the aisle from this woman. And I just couldn’t get out of my bench, you know, to get out of the courtroom because there was it’s pretty packed in there today. But it was it was a moment,” Levy said.
