<p>President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> paused his pro-gun control speech on Tuesday to defend a pro-Palestinian protester who interrupted the event and heckled the president, saying he was &#8220;complicit in genocide&#8221; for continuing to support Israel in its war against Hamas terrorists.</p>
<p>Biden was speaking in Washington, D.C., at gun control advocacy group Everytown&#8217;s Gun Sense University — an annual gun violence prevention conference — on the same day that his embattled son Hunter Biden was convicted on gun-related charges, a fact that some noted might be awkward.</p>

<p>The exchange began with Rowling, who asked a simple question: &#8220;Which rights have been taken away from trans people?&#8221;</p>
<p>Someone responded to her, referring to her as a Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF) and saying, &#8220;The freedom to live without constant persecution, which you and your TERFarmy have taken from them.&#8221;</p>

<p>The &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; author availed herself then of the opportunity to explain her point further, telling the musician, &#8220;There are many differences between us, George, but some are particularly relevant to this debate. 1. You&#8217;re a man and I&#8217;m a woman. 2. You&#8217;ve been wealthy and famous since your early 20s. I didn&#8217;t become well known until I was well over 30. 3. I&#8217;ve never been given 15 months for handcuffing a man to a wall and beating him with a chain. 4. I believe in freedom of speech and belief.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;For more than half my life I was a regular anonymous person,&#8221; Rowling continued. &#8220;Some of those years were spent in poverty. That&#8217;s why I understand the importance of single-sex spaces for women who&#8217;re reliant on state-funded services. That&#8217;s why I understand why mixed public changing rooms are a problem for women. That&#8217;s why I have a problem with men &#8216;identifying&#8217; into women&#8217;s rape crisis centres, domestic abuse and homeless shelters that are supposed to be single-sex.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t stand against gender identity ideology because I personally still need those services, but because my life has taught me exactly how vulnerable women are when they don&#8217;t have the money/influence I have now,&#8221; she added. &#8220;You yourself have been convicted of violent assault. The overwhelming number of people who commit crimes of violence are male, just like you. That&#8217;s why I don&#8217;t want to see men identifying into women&#8217;s prison cells or any of the spaces mentioned above. Not all men are violent or predatory, but enough are to make safeguarding necessary.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rowling concluded with a jab at the artist&#8217;s public persona – which was always rooted in individuality and freedom of expression — and argued that he was caving to the crowd by taking the position he had on gender ideology.</p>
<p>&#8220;Lastly, I&#8217;m a writer who believes in freedom of speech and belief. As we both know, the safe, fashionable thing in the arts world right now is to do exactly what you&#8217;re doing: parrot TWAW and sneer at the unenlightened plebs who think sex is important and matters. For a man who was once all about non-conformity, George, you couldn&#8217;t have become more predictably or more tediously conformist,&#8221; she said.</p>

Boy George Calls JK Rowling A Bully, And It Backfires Immediately

<p>A study published on Friday revealed just how many times reporters and anchors on cable news outlets CNN and MSNBC referred to the violent protests and riots in Los Angeles as &#8220;peaceful.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Media Research Center (MRC) evaluated coverage of the protests — targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and attempting to prevent them from carrying out raids — on the two major left-leaning cable networks ranging from June 7 to June 11, 5:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET. During that time, as rioters burned cars in the streets and threw cinder blocks at law enforcement, the protests were called &#8220;peaceful&#8221; some 211 times.</p>
<p>According to the study, CNN aired more than half (123) of those mentions and the other 88 were seen on MSNBC&#8217;s coverage.</p>
<p>Fox News anchor Dana Perino brought up the study with former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on &#8220;America&#8217;s Newsroom&#8221; on Monday, and the two discussed the obvious disparities between what people saw playing out in Los Angeles and what CNN and MSNBC were saying about it.</p>

<p>&#8220;The Media Research Center shows that between June 7th and 11th, CNN and MSNBC had a reference to the protests as &#8216;peaceful&#8217; 211 times — as if they were trying to really make the — drive that point home,&#8221; Perino said.</p>
<p>&#8220;Yeah, and I actually saw this pivot in real time where it was &#8216;peaceful, peaceful, peaceful,&#8217; and then on that Sunday afternoon the cars were burning, there were scooters being tossed onto the hoods of police cars, and all of a sudden that &#8216;peaceful&#8217; adjective made its way out of the coverage, at least temporarily,&#8221; McEnany replied.</p>
<p>A <a href="https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/bill-dagostino/2025/06/13/study-cnn-msnbc-overwhelmingly-call-riots-peaceful-la-burns">report</a> from MRC&#8217;s Newsbusters cited several examples from CNN and MSNBC noting that multiple personalities had used the term during the studied timeframe.</p>
<p>&#8220;The intention, it seems, is to lump in violent rioters and peaceful protestors,&#8221; Brian Stelter said on June 9 on CNN.</p>
<p>Two days later, CNN anchor Erin Burnett said, &#8220;There were some incidents of violence. There were specific individuals involved in that. By and large, peaceful protest.&#8221;</p>
<p>On June 11, MSNBC&#8217;s Chris Hayes said, &#8220;Donald Trump can try to turn the military into a partisan tool, mobilizing the National Guard and even the Marines against peaceful protestors.&#8221;</p>
<p>The same day, anchor Nicolle Wallace added, &#8220;Donald Trump referred to those peaceful protestors exercising their First Amendment rights as insurrectionists.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to the MRC, the only statements that were evaluated for the purposes of the study were those made by anchors, reporters, and guests who were supposed to be &#8220;non-partisan.&#8221;</p>

Study Shows How Many Times Cable News Outlets Referred To Violent L.A. Riots As ‘Peaceful’

<p>Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) attempted to blame political violence — like the targeted shooting of two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses in his home state — on &#8220;mean tweets&#8221; in an apparent jab at President Donald Trump, despite the fact that he himself had called on Democrats to &#8220;be meaner&#8221; just a few weeks earlier.</p>
<p>Walz gave a statement on Sunday evening after it was announced that the alleged shooter, Vance Boelter, had been apprehended after a two-day manhunt — and he called for &#8220;decency&#8221; in political discourse.</p>
<p>&#8220;A moment in this country where we watch violence erupt, this cannot be the norm. It cannot be the way that we deal with our political differences,&#8221; Walz began. &#8220;Now is the time for us to recommit to the core values of this country. And each and every one of us can do it.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Talk to a neighbor rather than arguing. Debate an issue. Shake hands. Find common ground. This is who Melissa Hortman was. In the first negotiating session that I had a chance to work with her, she got all the partners in the room, and she provided each and every one of us a copy of a book called &#8216;Getting to Yes,'&#8221; he continued, remembering the deceased legislator. &#8220;And the whole premise was debating with a sense of goodwill, a sense to come to compromises that serve everyone. And because of her, we did that. Because of her we did that year after year after year. That’s the embodiment of how things are supposed to work.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It’s not about hatred. It’s not about mean tweets,&#8221; Walz added, in an apparent jab at Trump. &#8220;It’s not about demeaning someone. It’s leading with grace and compassion and vision and compromise and decency. That was taken from us in Minnesota with the murder of Speaker Hortman. So for each and every one of us to truly honor, and we will, we will continue to honor that spirit, but we will need to do it in just more than actions in a memorial. Conducting ourselves in the spirit that Melissa Hortman did her work is what the country needs to heal.&#8221;</p>
<p>The governor&#8217;s words on Sunday mark a dramatic departure from what he said just a few weeks earlier about Democrats needing to &#8220;be a little meaner&#8221; when it came to engaging in political discourse.</p>
<p>Walz, during his remarks at the South Carolina Democratic Party Convention, referred to Trump as a &#8220;wannabe dictator,&#8221; a &#8220;bully,&#8221; and a &#8220;cruel man&#8221; – and suggested that Democrats needed to &#8220;bully him back.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Maybe it’s time for us to be a little meaner, maybe it’s time for us to be a little more fierce,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) blamed President Donald Trump for the shootings that took place in Minnesota, apparently targeting Democratic lawmakers in politically motivated attacks — and CNN anchor John Berman gave him no pushback.</p>
<p>Merkley joined Berman on Monday morning, just hours after it was announced that the suspect in the case had been apprehended, and he immediately pivoted to attack Trump when asked about the political climate in the country.</p>

<p>Berman set Merkley up for the attack, framing his question about the Minnesota shootings in such a way as to suggest that the political climate was responsible for driving the shooter to act.</p>
<p>&#8220;There was a state representative, Democratic leader, of the state legislature in Minnesota killed over the weekend, a state senator shot,&#8221; Berman began. &#8220;How would you describe the political atmosphere in this country this morning?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I feel like Trump has really popped the lid off of the rhetoric and the sense of hate and violence, and promoted this type of environment,&#8221; Merkley said, suggesting several times that the threats were only coming from the right. &#8220;It&#8217;s profoundly disturbing for all of us. We have seen increased threats across the country, you&#8217;re probably familiar with the pizza threats, we&#8217;ve seen more of that where pizzas or other food is delivered to people&#8217;s families that they haven&#8217;t ordered just to say from the right-wing, we know who you are, we know where you live.&#8221;</p>

CNN Anchor Says Nothing As Dem Senator Blames Trump For Minnesota Assassinations

<p>Tragedy struck Minnesota at the end of last week when a gunman, apparently disguised as a police officer, opened fire on two different state lawmakers and their spouses. Two of the four were killed, and the other two were hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.</p>
<p>As the horrific news broke, however, Democrats and media talking heads were quick to point the finger at increasingly &#8220;heated rhetoric&#8221; — almost always using President Donald Trump as the prime example of that — and the availability and accessibility of firearms.</p>
<p>For those who don&#8217;t spend their Sunday mornings glued to the television — and their Sunday afternoons attempting to dig through a week&#8217;s worth of network and cable news media spin — The Daily Wire has compiled a short summary of what you may have missed.</p>
<p>On CBS News&#8217; <strong>&#8220;Face the Nation,&#8221;</strong> Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-senator-removed-by-security-after-disrupting-noem-presser-in-los-angeles">Alex Padilla</a> (D-CA) — fresh off his dramatic ouster from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem&#8217;s press conference — immediately blamed President Donald Trump for ratcheting up the temperature in political discourse.</p>
<p>Padilla praised the Senate Sergeant at Arms and the Capitol Police for their attention to the increased threats against lawmakers and for how hard they were working to keep everyone safe.</p>

<p>During a panel discussion later on in the broadcast, former Rep. Andy Levin (D-MI) and Democratic strategist Karen Finney attempted to blame the situation on the fact that firearms were easily accessible in the United States.</p>
<p>&#8220;My God, we&#8217;ve got to stop thinking we can solve our problems or we can get attention for ourselves or our point of view or whatever that person thought they were doing with firearms,&#8221; Levin said. &#8220;It&#8217;s an epidemic in this country. We used to worry so much about school shootings, all the time, all the time, now people — the president himself was, you know, the target of two assassination attempts. This is something we&#8217;ve got to take on as a policy matter in this country.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Look, I&#8217;m a gun guy. I wouldn&#8217;t necessarily place the blame on guns,&#8221; Shermichael Singleton added, saying that he did agree that too many people believed violence was the best way to get a point across. Singleton noted that far too many people were &#8220;unstable&#8221; and apparently unwilling to engage in debate or simply vote out the people with whom they disagreed.</p>
<p>Levin pushed back then, claiming that mental health in the United States was not dramatically worse than in other nations, once again arguing that access to firearms was the problem. &#8220;We have a problem of firearms being accessible – sub-machine guns, all kinds of guns, and it&#8217;s — we&#8217;re not going to solve the problem until we step up to the plate and take on this epidemic —&#8221;</p>
<p>Singleton interrupted, saying, &#8220;By the way, you can&#8217;t buy a sub-machine gun anymore, Congressman, that was outlawed decades ago.&#8221;</p>

<p>President Donald Trump told ABC News on Sunday that the United States might not stay on the sidelines if the conflict between Israel and Iran continues or even escalates.</p>

<p>ABC News published highlights from the interview on Sunday, noting that Trump had also signaled openness to Russian President Vladimir Putin serving as a mediator in negotiations.</p>
<p>When asked whether Iran had been given a deadline regarding when they must be at the table to negotiate, Trump said there was none. &#8220;No, there&#8217;s no deadline. But they are talking. They&#8217;d like to make a deal. They&#8217;re talking. They continue to talk. Something like this had to happen because I think even from both sides, but something like this had to happen. They want to talk, and they will be talking &#8230; <span style="font-size: 16px;">May have forced a deal to go quicker, actually.&#8221;</span></p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re not involved in it,&#8221; he said of the ongoing conflict. &#8220;It&#8217;s possible we could get involved. But we are not at this moment involved.&#8221;</p>
<p>The president then said that Putin had pitched the idea that he could serve as a moderator between Israel and Iran, and Trump said the idea was at least worth considering.</p>
<p>&#8220;I would be open to it. He is ready. He called me about it. We had a long talk about it,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;We talked about this more than his situation. This is something I believe is going to get resolved.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump reported a day earlier that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reports-on-birthday-call-from-russias-putin-says-ukraine-talks-will-continue-next-week">Putin had called</a> to wish him a happy birthday on Saturday, but that they had also spoken at length about Israel and Iran at the time.</p>
