<p>The executive chairman of the World Economic Forum boasted to his audience on Monday at the organization’s summit in Davos, “The future is built by us.”</p>
<p>Klaus Schwab founded the World Economic Forum in 1971; he also spoke Monday of the “global agenda.”</p>
<p>“Let’s also be clear: the future is not just happening; the future is built by us,” Schwab lectured.</p>
<p>“By a powerful community as you here in this room,” he continued. “We have the means to improve the state of the world, but two conditions are necessary: The first one, is that we act all as stakeholders of larger communities, so that we serve not only our self-interests but we serve the community. That’s what we call ‘stakeholder responsibility.’”</p>
<p>“And second, that we collaborate,” he added. “And this is the reason why you find many opportunities here during the meeting to engage into &#8230; action and impact initiatives to make progress related to specific issues on the global agenda.”</p>

<p>On June 3, 2020, Schwab wrote on the <a href="https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/06/now-is-the-time-for-a-great-reset/">WEF website</a> that the world needed a “Great Reset” of capitalism:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>To achieve a better outcome, the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a “Great Reset” of capitalism.</em></p></blockquote>
<p>At the same time, Great Britain’s Prince Charles said at the virtual opening of the WEF summit that the recovery from the coronavirus crisis opened the door to reset the global economy. “We have a unique but rapidly shrinking window of opportunity to learn lessons and reset ourselves on a more sustainable path,” he stated.</p>
<p>“We have a golden opportunity to seize something good from this crisis. Its unprecedented shockwaves may well make people more receptive to big visions of change,” he added.</p>
<p>“Charles’s speech was part of a launch event for The Great Reset, a project involving the WEF and the Prince of Wales’s Sustainable Markets Initiative, aimed at rebuilding the economic and social system to be more sustainable,” <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jun/03/pandemic-is-chance-to-reset-global-economy-says-prince-charles">The Guardian</a> noted.</p>
<p>In 2017, Schwab said he was proud of how former “Young Global Leaders: at WEF had been able to “penetrate the cabinets” of various countries. He stated:</p>
<blockquote><p><em>I have to say when I mention some names like Ms. Angela Merkel, even Vladimir Putin and so on, they all have been Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum. But what we are very proud of, is the young generation like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, president of Argentina and so on, that we penetrate the cabinets.</em></p>
<p><em>So yesterday I was at a reception for Prime Minister Trudeau, and I know that half of his cabinet or even more half of his cabinet are actually Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum.</em></p></blockquote>
