<p>Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/ted-cruz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ted Cruz</a> (R-TX) slammed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris&#8217; newly unveiled economic agenda utilizing price controls this week, warning that her agenda closely resembles &#8220;Soviet-style&#8221; policies that failed.</p>
<p>Cruz made the remarks during the most recent episode of his &#8220;Verdict&#8221; podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson while discussing the proposal.</p>
<p>“Queen Kamala, the federal government czar, is going to set prices, well, not on anything that matters, just food, just groceries, just what you feed your children and your family,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;That the federal government is now going to be in the business that the Soviet Union, their government, was in for a long time, deciding the prices of goods the people need and want. The only problem is history has shown that is absolutely disastrous.”</p>
<p>Cruz noted that the reason inflation has been such a problem over the past few years under the Biden-Harris administration is because &#8220;the Democrats spent a crap-ton of money they didn&#8217;t have, and they grew the money supply.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;There are a lot more dollars &#8212; if there are a lot more dollars, the price of everything goes up,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But secondly, there&#8217;s a second component of inflation, which is for four years, Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have waged a war on energy, and in particular, oil and gas.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruz explained how the Biden-Harris administration&#8217;s war on the oil and gas industry has made every product more expensive, especially food.</p>
<p>“When it comes to food, a big driver of the cost of food is the cost of fertilizer. And fertilizer, natural gas is a major ingredient. Energy costs are a major ingredient in the cost of fertilizer,&#8221; he said. “Every one of those trucks run on diesel as well, and so by waging a war on oil and gas, Kamala Harris is directly responsible for causing a massive increase on the cost of food at the grocery store.&#8221;</p>
<p>He noted that she now has a serious political problem to contend with because the policies she supported have harmed millions of Americans who will be voting in the upcoming election, yet she can&#8217;t admit it.</p>

<p>&#8220;So instead, what is their solution? The government will magically decree prices will be lower,&#8221; he said. “Her solution is an absolute train wreck. It is a disaster. It would hurt the American people badly. But understand she doesn’t know this. Far too few Democrats in Washington even have a basic understanding of economics.”</p>
