<p>Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ted-cruz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ted Cruz</a> (R-TX) slammed the Biden administration late this week over the ongoing catastrophe at the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that what is happening there is intentional and is a result of Biden&#8217;s policies.</p>
<p>More than <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-heads-to-beach-after-shattering-all-time-record-with-83000-illegal-aliens-storming-border-in-1-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">83,000</a> illegal aliens crossed the border this week — the most in U.S. history — amid the ending of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/title-42" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Title 42</a>, a public health statute that was used at the border during the pandemic to help stem the flow of illegal immigration. In anticipation of its end, up to 700,000 people, including many from Central America, were waiting at the border for entry.</p>
<p>Cruz told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Friday night that Biden was &#8220;AWOL&#8221; and not doing his job while the U.S. is seeing &#8220;a national security crisis unfolding on our southern border.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;On Monday, the Border Patrol apprehended over 10,000 illegal immigrants. Yesterday, the Border Patrol apprehended over 10,000 illegal immigrants. Those are both records,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;And this is a full on invasion. It is a crisis. And the Biden administration is cheering it on &#8230; they want this to happen. They want more people to come in, and they don&#8217;t care about the body bags that are piling up.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;They don&#8217;t care about the women being sexually assaulted,&#8221; Cruz continued. &#8220;They don&#8217;t care about the children being brutalized. They don&#8217;t care about the over 100,000 drug overdoses that we had last year, two thirds of which was from Chinese fentanyl coming across the southern border. And I gotta tell you, my home state of Texas is paying the price. And in Texas, we are furious about it. We&#8217;re frustrated.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruz later added that the volume of illegal immigrants pouring into Texas was &#8220;so massive that it defies words.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Democrat mayors are freaking out and declaring a crisis. The Democrat mayor of Chicago, the Democrat mayor of Washington, D.C., the Democrat mayor where you are in New York City declares it a crisis when he gets even a few illegal immigrants,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;We&#8217;ve had over six and a half million cross under Joe Biden and 50 show up at Martha&#8217;s Vineyard and the woke lefties there declared a full on humanitarian crisis.&#8221;</p>
