The United States Supreme Court is expected to issue opinions on Monday as abortion supporters and opponents breathlessly await a decision potentially overturning Roe v. Wade.
“After a week of no opinions in argued cases, the Supreme Court expects to issue opinions next Monday,” SCOTUSblog tweeted Thursday afternoon. “Thirty-three argued cases remain to be decided, meaning the court will have to work at a rapid clip in order to close out the term by the end of June, as is customary.”

It is not known whether the Supreme Court will release a ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization on Monday.
Advocates on both sides of the aisle have anxiously awaited a ruling every Monday since the May 2 publication of a leaked draft opinion indicating that the justices would likely overturn Roe v. Wade.
The draft document, which is not final, says Roe v. Wade was egregiously wrong. As of Thursday, the leaker has not been publicly identified, but officials are reportedly escalating efforts to uncover who committed such an unprecedented breach of the court.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
President Joe Biden’s administration has vociferously condemned the potential overturn of Roe v. Wade, and pro-abortion protestors have commenced a “Summer of Rage” and protesting.
On Wednesday, White House Gender Policy Council Director Jennifer Klein and staffers from the president and vice president’s offices met with “a diverse group of national religious denominational leaders on reproductive rights,” the White House said in a release.
Senior administration officials reportedly reiterated Biden’s “commitment to reproductive rights” during the meeting.
“Attendees discussed the importance of protecting access to health care, including reproductive health care, with a particular emphasis on the importance of equitable access for underserved communities,” the release said. “Faith leaders also highlighted the importance of the constitutional rights affirmed in Roe v. Wade, including the fundamental right to privacy.”
Notably absent from the list of religious groups that attended the meeting were representatives from the Catholic Church, which adamantly condemns abortion as a “crime against human life.”
Biden, often described by media and his staff as a “devout Catholic,” has drawn heavy criticism for heading the most pro-abortion administration in United States history.
Participants at the meeting included representatives from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the United Church of Christ, the United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries, Reconstructing Judaism, the Rabbinical Assembly, Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, and the Central Conference of American Rabbis, according to the White House.
