<p>House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) said during an interview over the weekend that President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s mass deportation plan was an excellent &#8220;dollar-for-dollar investment&#8221; in America&#8217;s security.</p>
<p>Johnson made the remarks during a Sunday interview on NBC News&#8217; &#8220;Meet The Press&#8221; when asked about reports that the mass deportation plan could cost up to $88 billion per year to deport just a million illegal aliens.</p>
<p>&#8220;I cannot think of a better dollar-for-dollar investment than to restore the security and the safety of the country,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve had a wide-open border for four years, and millions upon millions of illegal persons.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We have dangerous illegals in the country, criminals who have already committed crimes here, violent crimes against the American citizens,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;The best thing we can do is return those people from where they came. And I think the American people understand that.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I saw a New York Times poll, I think it was just two days ago, 87% of the American people agree that we should deport dangerous, illegal, criminal aliens,&#8221; he added. &#8220;And that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re going to do.&#8221;</p>
