Sources insist that former NBA player Lamar Odom is not dating transgender model Daniiellè Alexis despite the rumors circulating on social media, according to TMZ.
The sources, who are close with Odom, revealed to TMZ that the 42-year-old athlete is friends with Alexis, which explains why they’ve been photographed together, but insists the relationship is platonic.
Rumors started swirling after Alexis posted photos on Instagram alongside Odom. “It’s always blessings from us,” Alexis shared in the caption of a photo series alongside the NBA alum. “Lamar says hi this morning to everyone too,” the post continued. In the second image, the aspiring Hollywood star has pursed lips toward Odom.
The former pro basketball player has “no problems” with the transgender community but that there is no “romantic spark” between him and Alexis, sources said according to TMZ.
Odom was married to Khloé Kardashian from 2009 to 2016. They were the subjects of the short-lived reality show, “Khloé & Lamar.” He recently said he wishes his ex-wife happiness and hopes she is well.
“It was hard for me to watch that,” Odom told E! News about seeing Kardashian deal with her other ex, Tristan Thompson, and a cheating and paternity scandal. “It’s always going to be hard for me to watch someone I love so much sad like that.”
He said he hopes Kardashian can “find happiness” despite so much negativity and that her life is happy full of joy “however she has to find that.”
“She was crying on the show and everybody was questioning her and s*** like that. That was probably a hard time for her,” he said of watching “The Kardashians.”
“I just want her to be happy. That’s it,” he added.
Prior to his romantic relationship with Kardashian, Odom dated his teenage sweetheart, Liza Morales, for more than 10 years. The couple was engaged but never married and welcomed daughter Destiny in 1998 and their son, Lamar Jr., in 2002.
They broke up in 2006 following the tragic death of their 6-month-old son, Jayden, from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Odom used drugs to cope with his grief, which fractured his relationship with Morales. “I realized I lost Lamar when our son Jayden passed away,” she told Page Six. “We grieved so differently.”
Most recently, Odom was engaged to fitness trainer Sabrina Parr. They broke up in November 2020.
