Pop superstar Adele has finally confirmed what tabloids and fans have been gossiping about for months. She’s married.
Adele made the announcement at a concert in Brisbane, Australia, telling the adoring crowd that she had married longtime romantic partner Simon Konecki.
“As bad as a breakup can be and as bitter and horrible and messy it can be, that feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth. I’m addicted to that feeling,” Adele stated before singing her hit-song ‘Someone Like You.’ “Obviously I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now. I found my next person.”
The singer has been dating Konecki since 2011. The couple already has a 4-year old son together.
However, Adele never officially confirmed rumors of a marriage, despite intensive speculation by the celebrity press.
“Rumors began in earnest after the first of the year, when both Konecki and Adele were spotted wearing rings on significant fingers,” reports The Los Angeles Times. “The singer added fuel to the flame (if not fire to the rain) when she referred to Konecki as “husband” during her Grammys acceptance speech for album of the year.”
Adele is currently on tour in Australia. She plans on holding performances in New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the following months.
