ISIS is now using children to do its bidding. For the first time ever, the terror group used an American child to deliver a stark message to the president of the United States in a new propaganda video.
“My message to Trump, the puppet of the Jews: Allah promised us victory, promised you defeat,” <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/isis-uses-american-boy-to-threaten-trump-in-new-video">said</a> the boy who identified himself as “Yousef.”
Against the backdrop of the Islamic State’s de facto capital in Raqqa, Syria, Yousef went on to say that ISIS fighters are coming to America’s shores.
“This battle is not gonna end in <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/dozens-of-civilians-killed-in-airstrikes-on-raqqa">Raqqa</a> or <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/in-the-rubble-of-the-mosul-mosque-where-the-isis-caliphate-was-bornand-every-civilian-could-be-a-killer">Mosul</a>. It’s gonna end in your lands,” said the child ominously.
Adding insult to injury, Yousef suggested that his father is an American soldier.
“My father’s an American soldier who fought the <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/ex-mujahideen-lead-libyan-rebels">mujahideen</a> in Iraq,” said the boy in perfect English.
As disturbing as it may seem, American soldiers defecting to ISIS isn’t unheard of.
“Six of the 131 Americans charged in ISIS-related cases have military backgrounds,” <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/isis-uses-american-boy-to-threaten-trump-in-new-video">reports</a> The Daily Beast citing data from the George Washington University Program on Extremism.

On Sunday night, a video showing the violent gang rape of a mentally-challenged girl on a bus in Morocco began circulating online. By Monday, the video had spread like wildfire. The video shows several young Moroccan men forcefully stripping the girl naked before sexually assaulting her. Shockingly, fellow bus riders watch and even cheer on the barbaric rapists.
&#8220;In the video, the young girl&#8217;s helpless cries pierce through the cruel laughter of her assailants. Desperately trying to free herself from the merciless grasps of her attackers, the girl is pulled left and right, her shirt and pants pushed down to denude her flesh,&#8221; <a href="https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2017/08/226650/morocco-sexual-assault-mentally-girl/">reports</a> Morocco World News, adding:

Like a wolf pack, her attackers tore into her body under the penetrating gaze of a phone camera carried by one of the monsters, making sure to document their heinous crime.

The girl screams again and again, desperate for a helping hand, but only finding the vicious ones that brutally violate her body. Her aggressors, groping her chest, try to push a rag in her mouth to silence her cries.
By the end of the video, a man is heard telling the teenagers to &#8220;get away from her,&#8221; without appearing in the video or trying to physically intervene to stop the aggression.
Throughout the whole ordeal, the bus continues to roll, the driver impassive to what&#8217;s happening behind his seat.
In an <a href="https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2017/08/226650/morocco-sexual-assault-mentally-girl/">interview</a> with Morocco World News, Fouzia Assouli, head of the Moroccan Federation of the Democratic League of Women&#8217;s Rights, said that the video depicts a level of cruelty that she has never come across before.
&#8220;This is unbelievable! It looks like we&#8217;re living in the jungle now, because this is not sexual harassment, this is gang rape in a public space in front of everyone!&#8221; she said, exasperated.
Assouli went on to condemn what she sees as an incompetent state authority that fails to protect its women. &#8220;What does it mean to have a State exactly? Isn&#8217;t the government supposed to assure the security of its citizens?!,&#8221; she asked rhetorically. &#8220;What does it mean to have people witnessing such a crime without moving a finger?&#8221;
While the indifference of the crowd shown in the video has sent shockwaves down the spine of Moroccan civil society, police managed to track down the rapists shortly after the incident.
&#8220;Six teenage suspects were arrested in Morocco on Monday after video footage of young men reportedly sexually molesting a woman on a bus caused widespread outrage on social networks,&#8221; <a href="https://english.alarabiya.net/en/features/2017/08/21/Gang-rape-of-woman-on-public-bus-sends-shockwaves-across-Morocco.html">confirms</a> Al Arabiya News.
Nonetheless, the incident raises questions about the role culture and religion have played in promoting a patriarchal society that tolerates such horrific abuse of women. When asked if they could &#8220;think of anything that Trump could do, or fail to do, in his term as president that would make you disapprove of the job he is doing,&#8221; the majority of poll respondents <a href="http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-roughly-one-in-four-americans-say-1502815844-htmlstory.html">said</a> no, lending credence to Trump&#8217;s own campaign <a href="http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-roughly-one-in-four-americans-say-1502815844-htmlstory.html">pronouncement</a> that he could &#8220;stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and [he] wouldn&#8217;t lose voters.&#8221;
To be fair, Trump&#8217;s critics were just as absolute in their convictions.
&#8220;At the other end of the scale, most of those who disapprove of Trump said that they could not &#8216;think of anything Trump could do, other than resign, in his term as president that would make you approve of the job he is doing,'&#8221; <a href="http://www.latimes.com/politics/washington/la-na-essential-washington-updates-roughly-one-in-four-americans-say-1502815844-htmlstory.html">reports</a> the Los Angeles Times. 
Those who said he couldn&#8217;t do anything to win them over outnumbered those who said he couldn&#8217;t lose their loyalty, 28% to 24%, respectively.
While other polls have indicated that disapproval of the president is at an all-time high, the new Monmouth poll, taken August 10 and 14, indicates that Trump&#8217;s favorability may be on the rise.
According to the poll, 49% of those surveyed disapproved of Trump&#8217;s job performance while 41% approved; that&#8217;s higher than the averages of recent, nonpartisan polls showing that nearly 57% disapprove of Trump&#8217;s performance.
Trump&#8217;s core supporters are still comprised of mostly white, mostly male voters, while a disproportionate number of Trump&#8217;s opposition is female.

Emboldened after a successful re-election campaign, Iranian President Hasan Rouhani is threatening to quit the controversial nuclear deal if the United States goes ahead and imposes new sanctions on Tehran.
In a televised speech delivered to the Iranian parliament, Rouhani <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/15/middleeast/rouhani-iran-nuclear-deal/index.html">said</a> Tuesday: &#8220;Iran could quit the nuclear deal within hours if the U.S. imposes more sanctions.&#8221;
He continued:

Rouhani&#8217;s threats come one month after Congress passed a comprehensive sanctions bill targeting Russia, Iran, and North Korea. While the Treasury Department has yet to fully implement the new sanctions, the Iranian parliament has already responded to America&#8217;s diplomatic stance by passing a <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/15/middleeast/rouhani-iran-nuclear-deal/index.html">bill</a> Sunday to &#8220;counter U.S. terrorist measures in the region.&#8221;

A champion of the far-left progressive cause, de Blasio has been a particularly controversial figure in his home city of New York.

In response, NYPD officers have displayed their disgust with the mayor&#8217;s problematic posturing, turning their backs on the mayor during public events, including a recent funeral for a member of the NYPD.

On Monday, more than 200 SJW zealots held a protest inside the American Museum of Natural History in New York City to take down the supposedly &#8220;racist&#8221; statue of former President Theodore Roosevelt. The protest&#8217;s organizers, NYC Stands with Standing Rock and Decolonize This Place, also called for Columbus Day to be renamed Indigenous People&#8217;s Day.
&#8220;A stark embodiment of the white supremacy that Roosevelt himself espoused and promoted,&#8221; pontificated the group of protesters in a <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/11/museum-natural-history-theodore-roosevelt-statue-protest?CMP=share_btn_tw">statement</a>. &#8220;The statue is seen as an affront to all who pass it on entering the museum, but especially to African and <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/native-americans">Native Americans</a>.&#8221;

The entire spectacle was underscored by a sort of religious fanaticism.
In fact, the devout left-wing activists moved from exhibit to exhibit in a trance-like motion burning sage and exuberantly playing Native American music.
Activists had <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/11/museum-natural-history-theodore-roosevelt-statue-protest?CMP=share_btn_tw">purportedly</a> planned the event three weeks in advance in order to make the bizarre show of leftist rage as special as possible.
&#8220;The group started with a 10-stop tour of the museum in which they highlighted a variety of exhibits they felt were racist and misrepresentative, which ranged from how the representation of Africans reinforces negative stereotypes to the exoticizing of Islam in the Hall of Islam exhibit,&#8221; <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/11/museum-natural-history-theodore-roosevelt-statue-protest?CMP=share_btn_tw">reports</a> The Guardian.
While the protesters managed to create a disruption at the museum, they failed to take down Roosevelt&#8217;s statue mounted outside thanks to 25 police officers who stood guard and protected the president.

President Trump&#8217;s tough talk of <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/19486/after-north-korea-builds-nuclear-warhead-trump-ben-shapiro">&#8220;fire and fury</a>&#8221; appears to have paid off.
After a tense war of words, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is backing off on a threat to launch missiles at a United States military base in Guam.
North Korean state media <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/north-korea-backs-off-guam-missile-attack-threat-1502751054">reported</a> Tuesday that, while Kim has taken his hand off the trigger for now, he reserves the right to change his mind &#8220;if the Yankees persist in their extremely dangerous reckless actions.&#8221; Reports from Pyongyang claim that Kim made his decision not to fire on the U.S. after visiting a North Korean command post and reviewing an execution plan outlined by his senior military commanders, and decided a launch was not in North Korea&#8217;s best interest.
Nonetheless, in his statements, the North Korean dictator couldn&#8217;t help but frame Washington as the oppressor and Pyongyang as the victim.
&#8220;The United States must &#8220;stop at once arrogant provocations against [North Korea] and unilateral demands and not provoke it any longer,&#8221; Kim <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/north-korea-backs-off-guam-missile-attack-threat-1502751054">stated</a>. &#8220;If the Yankees persist in their extremely dangerous reckless actions on the Korean Peninsula and in its vicinity, testing the self-restraint of the DPRK, the [North] will make an important decision as it already declared,&#8221; the report quoted Mr. Kim as saying.
Contradicting his earlier tone of self-victimization, Kim used colorful language to issue non-specific threats against the United States: &#8220;A strike against America would be the &#8220;most delightful historic moment,&#8221; hissed Kim.&#8221; It would&#8220; wring the windpipes of the Yankees and point daggers at their necks.&#8221;
Until then, however, Kim&#8217;s signature provocations are without force and his explicitly articulated plan to rain an &#8220;enveloping fire&#8221; around the U. S. territory of Guam is an empty threat. <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/north-korea-backs-off-guam-missile-attack-threat-1502751054">Officials there told media</a> they were &#8220;happy the rhetoric has calmed down&#8221; but that they will still maintain a &#8220;high level of readiness.&#8221;
North Korea&#8217;s benevolent change of heart came just one day after General Joseph Dunford, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, arrived in South Korea in a show of support for American allies in the region. In a press conference Monday, Dunford said &#8220;The United States military is ready to use its &#8220;full range&#8221; of military capabilities against North Korea if necessary.&#8221;

The left-leaning Oregonian newspaper has called Rose City Antifa&#8217;s rampage the worst political violence in a generation. &#8220;Their actions &#8212; conducted anonymously but brutally &#8212; show them to be punk fascists,&#8221; <a href="http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/06/30/how-liberal-portland-became-americas-most-politically-violent-city-215322">said</a> the paper&#8217;s editorial board.
3. Antifa uses &#8220;black bloc&#8221; attacks to promote violence, sow chaos, and evade law enforcement. Like their counterparts in Europe, American leftist activists often promote violence and reap chaos through time-tested tactics such as black bloc assaults, which feature thousands of black-clad and masked self-professed anarchists destroying everything in sight with hockey sticks, baseball bats, metal poles, trash cans, and virtually anything they can get their hands on.
The tactic was popularized by leftist rioters during the 1999 World Trade Organization protests in Seattle. Since then, it has been deployed by an eclectic blend of leftists at both college campuses and international summits in an effort to terrorize those who promulgate problematic points of view, including capitalism, patriarchy, and alleged racism.
4. Antifa&#8217;s garbled ideology is grounded in Marxism. All Antifa members seem to share an aversion to capitalism. Beyond that, Antifa&#8217;s political aim cannot be pinned down to one issue or cause. Ultimately, these violent leftist activists do not appear to have a coherent, let alone unified, message. When they riot, activists air their grievances about everything from climate change to transphobia in an effort to espouse whatever fashionable leftist talking point is popular at the time.
As Time Magazine <a href="http://time.com/4899658/charlottesville-antifa-protests/">notes</a> &#8220;There&#8217;s not one set answer&#8221; when it comes to Antifa&#8217;s ideology.
&#8220;Anti-fascist groups have long <a data-reactid="245" href="http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/07/07/535959974/flames-subside-but-protests-continue-as-g20-leaders-gather-for-hamburg-summit" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">protested globalization</a> in Europe. These days in the U.S., Antifa protestors are often bound by an opposition to capitalism. Some may also describe themselves as anarchists, people who question authority on principle,&#8221; explains Time.
Time magazine even spoke with an anonymous Antifa member to gain some clarity about the group&#8217;s ideology, but the Antifa member simply listed a catalogue of abstract &#8220;-isms&#8221; the leftist group is opposed to.
&#8220;The standard for Antifa ideology is anti-capitalism, anti-fascism of course,&#8221; <a href="http://time.com/4899658/charlottesville-antifa-protests/">said</a> the far-leftist, adding:

Moreover, there is no central institution governing Antifa&#8217;s offshoots in Portland, Berkeley, Charlottesville and elsewhere. The group is largely fragmented and decentralized.
&#8220;The Antifa movement is a loose and informal one,&#8221; <a href="http://time.com/4899658/charlottesville-antifa-protests/">notes</a> Time. &#8220;But the label is becoming more visible, showing up in graffiti on college campuses and forums for grassroots organizers online.&#8221;
5. The mainstream Left is praising Antifa. <a href="http://www.dailycal.org/2017/04/18/antifa-presence-helped-defend-communities/">Berkeley&#8217;s student newspaper</a> isn&#8217;t the only one celebrating the thuggish group for their violent tactics in the age of Trump. From <a href="http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/news/a54564/the-violent-clashes-in-berkeley-werent-pro-trump-versus-anti-trump/">Esquire</a> to <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/09/the-rise-of-the-violent-left/534192/">Slate</a> to <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/09/the-rise-of-the-violent-left/534192/">The Nation</a>, mainstream liberal publications are glorifying Antifa&#8217;s &#8220;resistance,&#8221; reframing their violent tactics as &#8220;defensive&#8221; posturing against the Trumpian America&#8217;s supposed plunge into fascism. Paranoid and conspiracy minded, the mainstream Left has abandoned all sense of political decorum to embrace vigilantism. And even liberals who aren&#8217;t explicitly praising Antifa are refusing to condemn their behavior. &#8220;Trump&#8217;s rise has also bred a new sympathy for Antifa among some on the mainstream left,&#8221; <a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/09/the-rise-of-the-violent-left/534192/">asserts</a> The Atlantic.
6. The vast majority of Antifa members are pitiable losers. As The Daily Wire&#8217;s Aaron Bandler <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/13248/study-9-10-antifa-protesters-still-living-moms-aaron-bandler">reported</a>, 9 in 10 Antifa members are still living in their mother&#8217;s basement. Citing a report by Heat Street, Bandler <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/13248/study-9-10-antifa-protesters-still-living-moms-aaron-bandler">noted</a> &#8220;92% of the protesters at these anti-fascist rallies that are believed to have committed violence still live with their parents.&#8221;
While Antifa claims to support &#8220;diversity,&#8221; the group&#8217;s rank-and-file is <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/13248/study-9-10-antifa-protesters-still-living-moms-aaron-bandler">comprised mostly of single, unemployed young white males</a> (far-left Antifa meet &#8220;alt-right&#8221; neo-Nazis and white supremacists).
7. Antifa conflates speech with violence, believing that &#8220;offensive&#8221; rhetoric, &#8220;hate&#8221; speech, and micro-aggressions should be counteracted with macro-aggressions, or physical violence. Internalizing the social justice warrior (SJW) gospel, Antifa has come to believe that speech itself is tantamount to physical assault. As a result, Antifa deploys violent tactics to shut down speech they don&#8217;t like. We saw that vividly in Berkeley.
&#8220;In the name of fighting for those ideals &#8212; and putting a stop to &#8216;hate speech&#8217;&#8212;some antifa protestors will employ militant tactics or violent means such as vandalism,&#8221; <a href="http://time.com/4899658/charlottesville-antifa-protests/">explains</a> Time. 
Antifa&#8217;s tactics aren&#8217;t just violent but counterproductive to their poorly-articulated goals.
&#8220;It just makes [antifa] feel good &#8212; they think they made a point,&#8221; Mark Pitcavage, a domestic political extremism researcher with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), <a href="http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/06/30/how-liberal-portland-became-americas-most-politically-violent-city-215322">tells</a> Politico. &#8220;But their tactics are counterproductive. They haven&#8217;t made any dent over the years with those tactics. &#8230; And it gives the white supremacists an unbelievable amount of publicity.&#8221;

President Trump&#8217;s evolving response to Saturday&#8217;s <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/19658/7-things-you-need-know-about-charlottesville-ben-shapiro">white supremacist terrorist attack in Charlottesville</a> has drawn criticism from both sides of the aisle. Both Republicans and Democrats blasted the president for failing to use his platform on Saturday to call out the violent ideology behind the terrorist attack. By Monday, Trump had changed his tone, calling out the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacist groups by name. In between Saturday and Monday, Trump posted a series of tweets about the incident while White House officials went into overdrive to clarify the president&#8217;s seemingly ambiguous remarks.

In the immediate aftermath of Saturday&#8217;s attack, Trump fell back on Twitter to post his initial thoughts about the incident. Keeping his comments relatively open-ended, Trump said that America should &#8220;condemn all that hate stands for.&#8221;

Following his tweet, Trump provided a statement at his golf club in Bedford, New Jersey.

Presumably, Trump was referring to both alt-right white racists and far-left Antifa rioters. However, the president&#8217;s failure to call out Nazi and white supremacist ideology by name was what landed him in hot water. The ambiguity of the president&#8217;s remarks led some to believe that Trump didn&#8217;t want to call out white supremacists by name because he didn&#8217;t want to alienate a viable voting base. The specificity of Trump&#8217;s tweets targeting Mitch McConnell, journalists, and others only compounded concerns about Trump&#8217;s dog whistle politics.
Trump&#8217;s remarks placing blame &#8220;on many sides&#8221; were coupled with sentiments of unity and sympathy for the victims of the violence in Charlottesville.

It was only after neo-Nazi websites, including The Daily Stormer, praised the president for refusing to &#8220;<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/14/politics/charlottesville-nazi-trump-statement-trnd/index.html">attack</a>&#8221; racist groups that President Trump finally came out to condemn white supremacists by name.
Two days after Saturday&#8217;s terrorist attack, Trump provided a televised statement at the White House to explicitly call out white supremacist ideology.
&#8220;Racism is evil,&#8221; Trump <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/14/politics/charlottesville-nazi-trump-statement-trnd/index.html">stated</a> Monday, adding:

&#8220;But that&#8217;s not real socialism,&#8221; says every leftist sympathizer when confronted with the horrific reality of Venezuela&#8217;s collapse into an autocratic dystopia. But for those of us who don&#8217;t have our heads in the sand, Venezuela is a textbook example of what happens when socialism infects a country and purges any hint of private enterprise.
The people of Venezuela are suffering tremendously thanks to the Bolivarian socialist experiment. Hugo Chavez, the socialist state&#8217;s now-deceased founding father, once promised a flourishing utopia where children were merry and the poor were well-fed. Today, Venezuela is anything but joyous. It&#8217;s hell on earth.
Under Chavez&#8217;s handpicked successor, President Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelans are flooding the streets in protest against everything the socialist state stands for: poverty, destitution, starvation, suffering, and ideological slavery. Intent on preserving the socialist system by any means necessary, Maduro has consolidated power like a king and deployed the state&#8217;s security forces to beat down protesters. Before socialism suffocated the prosperity and freedom out of the country, Venezuela was a relatively successful state relative to its neighbors in Latin America. In 2017, Venezuela is a trash heap pitied by the entire region.
Here are five tangible ways socialism itself turned Venezuela into a trash heap:
1. State-imposed price controls limited the supply of basic goods by rendering production unprofitable. In order for Bolivarian revolution to fully materialize, the socialist state needed to have full control over the price of goods coming out of factories. As long as the oligarchs in government enjoyed the fruits of oil revenue, profit for businesses, both large and small, were considered antithetical to the socialist agenda. The proletariat had to have access to goods even if it meant producing those goods at a loss, demanded the socialist state. After incurring tremendous losses, many businesses shut down, unable to continue production. With nobody left to make basic goods, supply became scarce, naturally pushing up the price of goods. And at a certain point, only the richest of the rich could afford goods smuggled across the border and sold on the black market.
2. Venezuela became a single commodity market. By discouraging businesses to pursue profit, the socialist government pushed the economy back to the dark ages. Creativity died. Nobody was incentivized to produce anything of value or innovate. Luckily, Venezuela had a safety net: oil, lots of it. But the global oil market is fickle. It ebbs and flows. Prices drop and rise quickly. When your entire economy is reliant on one commodity, then your economic fate is intertwined with price fluctuations that are beyond your control.
3. Venezuela subsidized its unsustainable welfare state with oil revenue. State-run oil companies were responsible for producing the revenue necessary to subsidize the government&#8217;s extensive welfare programs. Under the socialist system, the poor were promised housing, education, healthcare and other wildly expensive benefits. To pay for all of this, the Venezuelan state sold oil in bulk overseas. But when the price of crude plunged, Venezuela went into uncontrollable free fall. By then the people had become so reliant on public services and government benefits that they had no way to take care of themselves on their own. The government controlled the lives of the people and now the government had no way to keep them healthy, fed, and alive.
4. The socialist system encouraged corruption. A socialist government needs an absurd number of government workers to run the day-to-day lives of the people. As a result, government itself becomes the one employer that is always hiring more employees. In socialist Venezuela, the government filled its coffers with oil revenue, generously paying top officials who exercised control over oil profit distribution. Government oligarchs grew rich while the people remained poor. The Washington Examiner <a href="http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/in-venezuela-the-destructive-force-of-socialism-is-at-work/article/2627885">explains</a> further:

The bigger the government, the more people&#8217;s success depends on sucking up to officials rather than on offering a service to consumers. Expanding state bureaucracies offer new opportunities for nepotism. First, Venezuelan jobs were allocated on the basis of political allegiance; now food supplies are.

5. The government had no way of controlling hyperinflation because the country&#8217;s monetary policy was imaginary. The Venezuelan state pretended to have control over the price of the bolivar, the nation&#8217;s (now-worthless) currency. The socialist state thought that it could set the price of goods, wages, property, and services and simply print money to make up for deficits. But as it turns out, recklessly printing money doesn&#8217;t actually work.
Forbes contributor Tim Worstall <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2017/07/05/congratulations-to-bolivarian-socialism-venezuelas-minimum-wage-jumps-up-50-to-12-50-a-month/#168da67d403b">explains</a> why the socialist government&#8217;s monetary policy was destined to fail:

The government does indeed control certain nominal numbers about the economy. They can and do insist that the bolivar is worth this much, that bread must be sold at a certain price, that wages are this or that. The inflation is of course being created by the government as they print money to pay their bills. For the Modern Monetary Theory people are entirely correct, government can just print money and spend it on whatever it likes. When they&#8217;ve done so hyperinflation like that in Venezuela is usually what results as well. Meaning that there&#8217;s nothing wrong with MMT as a theory it&#8217;s just that it always fails as a policy.

Worstall concludes that when the government aggressively allocates resources, in any country, including the United States, it&#8217;s always bad news.
&#8220;Economics is about the allocation of real resources so it&#8217;s the real prices that matter,&#8221; he notes. &#8220;The Chavistas thought it was nominal that mattered, that they could just set prices as they wish. It don&#8217;t work that way, something we should recall as our own democratic socialists attempt to fix the prices of rent, wages, college and the rest.&#8221;

Kenneth Roth, the provocative executive director of Human Rights Watch (HRW), is once again courting controversy. On Sunday afternoon, Roth chimed in on the violent incidents in Charlottesville, Virginia, by sharing an inflammatory cartoon about the White House.
The cartoon depicts the a triangular KKK-inspired hood adorning the top of the entrance to the White House. Just to make sure his nearly 220,000 Twitter followers know exactly what he&#8217;s referring to, Roth added the caption &#8220;The White Supremacist House&#8221; to his tweet of the cartoon:
