The long-running animated series The Simpsons weighed in on the presidential election this weekend and of course, they’re pulling Hillary.
In a clip (below) posted on Saturday parodying Hillary’s 2008 campaign ad where she’s taking on Obama for the Democratic nomination, The Simpsons pose the question to its Springfield residents, “It’s 3 a.m. and the phone’s ringing in the White House. Who do you want answering that call?”
A Simpsonized Bill Clinton excitedly answers the phone before realizing the call is for Shrillery, who barks at him, “Yes, and from now on, it’s always for me.”
Then it cuts to Trump as president, sitting in bed tweeting about how he’s glad he exiled faux-Indian Elizabeth Warren for tweeting too much while a book of Hitler’s greatest speeches rests next to him.
When Trump finally answers the phone, he tells his assistant to “put my name on the Lincoln Memorial, make Chris Christie eat a worm just for laughs, disband NATO and make me some scrambled eggs on a gold plate.”
He begrudgingly agrees to go to the Situation Room but a team of assistants comes in to get him ready by adding larger fake hands, spray-on tan leaving the eyes untouched, and a dog on top to be his hair piece, all while construction sounds are happening. Tired old jokes.
“We’re too late? The Chinese fleet is advancing?” Trump tells the person on the line.“Just build another wall. Yes! In the ocean, loser.”
Cut to Marge telling Homer, “Finally, my mind’s made up. And so is your right,” as she snuggles up to him.
“Absolutely, I’m voting for Trump, right?” he timidly asks.
Marge pulls away in disgust, saying, “If that’s your vote, I question whether I can ever be with you again,” as she puts the dog between them.
“And that’s how I became a Democrat,” Homer tells the camera and then kisses Marge.
