Pro-Palestinian protesters heckled Jewish students during a Wednesday morning hearing before the House Judiciary Committee — where those students had been invited to testify regarding free speech and pro-Hamas, anti-Semitic protests that had taken place on their college campuses.
Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Arjun Singh shared video from the hearing, captioning the clips, “Pro-Gaza protesters stand up, one-by-one, to heckle Jewish students testifying at a [House Judiciary Committee] hearing on free speech on college campuses, regarding anti-semitism and pro-Hamas views.”

The Daily Signal’s Mary Margaret Olohan shared more video of the disruption, saying, “Pro-Palestine demonstrators repeatedly interrupt the House Judiciary Committee hearing on free speech on college campuses + the rise in antisemitism and antisemitic violence.”

Once the hearing was underway — in addition to the rise in anti-Semitic rhetoric, demonstrations, and even attacks — students were asked to address the more general topic of free speech and whether that was something that even existed on college campuses, particularly when said speech came from conservative students and campus guests.
Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) asked the students directly whether “they believed free speech was protected on college campuses,” according to an X post from the House Judiciary Committee Republicans.
“Every single one of them said no.”

Rep. Kevin Kiley (R-CA) put the onus squarely on the shoulders of university leadership, saying that it was their failure to protect all students — regardless of their personal views — that had led to this point.
“How is it that university administrations that have waded into every political issue of the day are now suddenly bound by ‘institutional neutrality’ when it comes to the murder of children?” he asked, referencing a number of statements from university presidents at prestigious schools — like Harvard University and Columbia University, among others — who had released statements that stopped short of condemning the comments of pro-Hamas students who chose to protest on campus.
