Poll: Trump Getting 11% Of Latino Vote In Florida

By  Hank Berrien

According to the New Latino Voice (NLV) tracking poll conducted last week by Florida International University and Hispanic mobile advertising company Adsmovil, Donald Trump’s support among Latinos in Florida is approaching rock bottom. . The August 23–August 30 poll showed Trump garnering only 11.2% of the Latino vote, compared to Hillary Clinton’s 74.5%. Worse, Trump actually finished in third place; “Other” received 14.3% of the vote.

The poll was conducted the day before Trump visited Mexico and gave an immigration speech in Phoenix. The last time the “other” category superseded Trump was in May. Clinton topped out at 81% in early July before dipping to 74.5% now.

Latinos comprise roughly 17% of the Florida population.

A new Washington Post-Survey Monkey poll of all 50 states shows that three normally solid GOP states, Arizona, Texas and Georgia, are suddenly in play in 2016. What they all have in common is huge Latino populations. As the Washington Post points out:

Arizona and Texas happen to be two of the four most heavily Hispanic states in the country, in fact. And while Georgia’s shift toward Democrats in recent years is more about a surging African American population, it, too, has seen a major increase in its Hispanic population, which more than doubled between the 2001 and 2011 Censuses.

In the current RealClearPolitics average, Clinton leads Trump in Florida by 2.1 percentage points.
