The American public is not yet ready to accept a “single-payer” national health care model, said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday.
“Single-payer” is term coined by leftists as a euphemism for state-run communist-style health care administration, with the government being the only lawful procurer of health care goods and services; essentially nationalization of the health care industry. Free market exchange of health care goods and services restricted to government procurement is criminalized.
During her weekly press conference, Pelosi was asked whether “single-payer” health care should be integrated into the Democrats’ 2018 political platform.
“No, I don’t,” replied Pelosi, adding her expressed support for communist health care, “I was carrying around single-payer signs probably before you were born, so I understand that aspiration.”
“It is the least expensive, least administrative way to go about this,” said Pelosi of a communist health care system. “The comfort level with the broader base of the American people is not there, yet. It doesn’t mean it couldn’t be.
“States are a good place to start,” added Pelosi, describing states as political “laboratories” where smaller experiments with government-run and centrally-planned health care can be conducted.
The destruction of financial viability for health insurance companies caused by left-wing government policies – i.e. the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as “Obamacare” – facilitates incremental implementation of a communist health care apparatus.
Pelosi was not asked any questions about shortcomings – economic, political, moral, or otherwise – of communist systems of economic planning by any journalists or reporters attending her press briefing.
