Orlando Bloom recently talked about his relationship with fiancé Katy Perry, calling aspects of it “really, really, really challenging,” but saying he feels “blessed” that the two found each other.
The 46-year-old actor opened up with Flaunt magazine about his romance with the “Fireworks” hitmaker and said that being in very different careers can be “challenging.”
“We’re in two very different pools,” Bloom shared with the outlet. “Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands. Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie.”

“We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity, ” he added. “But I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment.”
Perry and Bloom made headlines when the couple announced they were engaged in 2019 after three years together. The following year, the pandemic sidelined the “Dark Horse” hitmaker’s plans to tie the knot in Japan, Page Six noted.
“It was very sweet,” Perry recounted on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” later. “It was Valentine’s Day … we went to dinner and I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner but we pulled up to a helicopter.”
“We landed on a rooftop [in Los Angeles] — my whole family was there, and all my friends,” she added. “He did so well.”
In August 2020, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter, Daisy Dove.
Bloom also shared in the Flaunt interview that one of the challenges the couple faces is distance, like his European shooting schedule for “Carnival Row,” along with his unscripted adventure show for Peacock, E! News noted. In February, Perry returned to Las Vegas for her residency show, Katy Perry: PLAY, the outlet noted.
Bloom was previously married to model Miranda Kerr from 2010-2013, and the pair share a son. Perry and Russell Brand tied the knot in 2010 and divorced two years later.
