Superstar Katy Perry let her millions of followers know on Monday that she was voting for billionaire Democrat Rick Caruso for mayor of Los Angeles because the city is “a hot mess” and more.
The 38-year-old pop singer shared several photos and a clip on Instagram with her 178 million followers after she officially cast a vote for Caruso, a former Republican, over Democrat Rep. Karen Bass.
“I am voting for a myriad of reasons (see the news) but in particular because Los Angeles is a hot mess,” Perry explained. “#letsgocaruso #yestomeasure28 #yestomeasure1 #doyoubutjustuseyourvoteok.”

In two of the photos, the “American Idol” judge took a selfie in the polling booth giving a thumbs up to the billionaire. In another snap, we see the “Firework” hitmaker striking a celebratory pose outside the polling location.
And in a final video, we see Perry giving a thumbs up to a message on the screen that read, “Thanks for Voting. Congratulations, you have cast your ballot in the November 8, 2022 General Election. Don’t forget your sticker on the way out.”
The “Teenage Dreams” star joined other stars in voting for Caruso — like actor Chris Pratt who shared with his 39.4 million followers that he’s lived in L.A. for 20 years and has witnessed its decline as crime and homelessness soar, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
“I’ve lived in LA for over 20 years,” Pratt shared in his Instagram Stories on Sunday. It’s been great to me. In that time I’ve seen what many residents here have seen, the city’s gradual decline into pain and utter disarray. If you live here, you know exactly what I’m talking about.”
“I don’t normally support political candidates,” he added. “But in this election, there’s too much to lose.”
“If you’re an LA voter, I urge you to vote for [Rick Caruso] He’s a builder,” the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star continued. “He knows how to get s*** done. He’s the guy for our city. Rick Caruso for LA mayor.”
Rapper Snoop Dogg and actress Gwyneth Paltrow have also spoken out and encouraged their followers to vote for Caruso.
Thank you @gwynethpaltrow for your powerful words and endorsement. I won’t let this city down. #CarusoCan pic.twitter.com/OnvzsveHgw
