<p>Superstar Katy Perry let her millions of followers know on Monday that she was voting for billionaire Democrat Rick Caruso for mayor of Los Angeles because the city is &#8220;a hot mess&#8221; and more.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/katy-perry">38-year-old</a> pop singer shared several photos and a clip on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Ckq51-Vvxq6/">Instagram</a> with her 178 million followers after she officially cast a vote for Caruso, a former Republican, over Democrat Rep. Karen Bass.</p>
<p>&#8220;I am voting for a myriad of reasons (see the news) but in particular because Los Angeles is a hot mess,&#8221; Perry explained. &#8220;#letsgocaruso #yestomeasure28 #yestomeasure1 #doyoubutjustuseyourvoteok.&#8221;</p>

<p>In two of the photos, the &#8220;American Idol&#8221; judge took a selfie in the polling booth giving a thumbs up to the billionaire. In another snap, we see the &#8220;Firework&#8221; hitmaker striking a celebratory pose outside the polling location.</p>
<p>And in a final video, we see Perry giving a thumbs up to a message on the screen that read, &#8220;Thanks for Voting. Congratulations, you have cast your ballot in the November 8, 2022 General Election. Don&#8217;t forget your sticker on the way out.&#8221;</p>
<p>The &#8220;Teenage Dreams&#8221; star joined other stars in voting for Caruso — like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/chris-pratt">actor Chris Pratt</a> who shared with his 39.4 million followers that he&#8217;s lived in L.A. for 20 years and has witnessed its decline as crime and homelessness soar, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-pratt-makes-political-endorsement-while-taking-shot-at-democrats-he-knows-how-to-get-st-done">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve lived in LA for over 20 years,&#8221; Pratt shared in his Instagram Stories on Sunday. It&#8217;s been great to me. In that time I&#8217;ve seen what many residents here have seen, the city&#8217;s gradual decline into pain and utter disarray. If you live here, you know exactly what I&#8217;m talking about.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t normally support political candidates,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But in this election, there&#8217;s too much to lose.&#8221;</p>
