A new report from the New York City government is warning that the thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens who have entered the Big Apple “urgently” need to get up to date on their vaccines, citing that their origin countries have low vaccination rates.
“More than 50,000 people have come to New York City (NYC) in the past year shortly after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. As more people arrive and many make NYC their home, the scale and scope of need continues to grow,” New York City’s health commissioner, Ashwin Vasan, said in a recent letter sent to health care professionals and physicians.
Vasan claimed that the onus for ensuring that these individuals were vaccinated was on the doctors — not the government.
“I am writing now to underscore how critical it is that health care providers take a wide range of considerations into account when working with people who are seeking asylum,” Vasan said. “The scope of this letter represents the scale of the need. It is incumbent upon us as a welcoming city to comprehensively evaluate and meet these needs.”
Of course, the government of New York City could have helped address this problem as well by requiring that illegal aliens who come to the Big Apple for free stuff and free education had received their vaccines.
The city chose not to, as The Daily Wire reported last August. At that time, Mayor Eric Adams (D) announced what he called the “Open Arms” program, which welcomed illegal alien children and their families into temporary housing, preparing for the upcoming school year.
Illegal migrant families who enrolled in that program had access to shelters and lodging, and even received prioritized school bus routing for all students in temporary housing.
Under the “Vaccinations” section of “Open Arms,” the city said it would “link these families to [Federally Qualified Health Clinics] and health centers not just for immunizations but also for on-going pediatric care,” but did mandate the jabs for a plethora of diseases — including Polio.

The city advised families, “As a reminder, students in temporary housing are excluded from immunization requirements as part of their right to immediate enrollment.”
Now, it’s a matter of urgency as thousands more of illegal aliens — many unvaccinated — have continued to arrive in New York City. That is because President Joe Biden’s border sabotage has continued unabated. The Biden administration has no desire to solve the problem of hundreds of thousands flooding the country each month.
As flagged by Townhall.com, the health commissioner also noted, “Vaccination rates for certain diseases are low in some of the most common countries of origin, with rates hovering around 50% for polio as an example.”
None of this is surprising. Conservatives who pointed out that illegal aliens from third-world countries may be bringing in diseases by the millions were vilified as racists. The New York City government, however, quietly admits it in a letter.
The solution to this madness is to plug the border. That will never happen until a Republican is in office — and even then, the GOP hasn’t been able to do it yet.
