Former President Barack Obama and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have privately urged President Joe Biden to end his re-election campaign over fears that he will get crushed in a general election rematch against former President Donald Trump, according to reports.
The Washington Post reported that Obama has been deeply engaged in conversations about the future of Biden’s campaign and is pulling strings trying to get Biden to drop out of the race.
Obama has looked at polls showing that Biden is losing ground on Trump and has told people he is becoming increasingly concerned about donors abandoning the party.
Other top Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) have reportedly warned Biden that if he stays in the race, Democrats may get thumped this November.
Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, has told Biden that he cannot beat Trump and that he could ruin the party’s chances of winning Congress in November if he stays in, according to CNN.

Biden reportedly pushed back on Pelosi, the report said, claiming that the polls he sees indicate that he can win. Biden reportedly became very defensive about his poor polling numbers, which have gone from bad to worse following his disastrous debate performance against Trump late last month.
First lady Jill Biden and Biden’s son, convicted felon and crack cocaine addict Hunter Biden, have reportedly taken more control over Biden since the debate, believing that some in the White House cannot be trusted and are sabotaging him. Hunter Biden has effectively become Biden’s gatekeeper and controls who gets to see his father.
Some of Biden’s aides are also reportedly “beat[ing] the s*** out of” any Democrat member who dares to step out of line and raise questions about Biden’s mental fitness for office.
