Obama Never Called Hero Who Prevented Terror Attack On Christian Group Near White House

   DailyWire.com

In 2012, a heroic security guard at the Family Research Council’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. stopped a terrorist attack from a radical LGBT activist who posed as an intern and opened fire inside the building.

Politico reported:

The gunman, [name redacted due to Daily Wire policy], 29, shot a security guard FRC on Aug. 15, 2012, during a struggle when he was trying to enter the Christian conservative group’s headquarters with the intent to kill as many employees as possible, he told officers after the incident. He was targeting FRC because of its views, including its opposition to gay marriage.

Security guard Leo Johnson was shot in the arm as he struggled with the gunman before Johnson ultimately was able to disarm him and hold him until law enforcement officials arrived.

“The security guard here is a hero, as far as I’m concerned,” D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said. “He did his job. The person never made it past the front.”

The shooter, who was the first person to be convicted under Washington, D.C.’s 2002 Anti-Terrorism Act, told investigators that he targeted the organization because the Southern Poverty Law Center listed them as “anti-gay.”

Sources at the Family Research Council told The Daily Wire that then-President Barack Obama never called the organization or spoke to Johnson for his heroic actions despite the fact that the attack happened only seven blocks from the White House.

This comes as many in the media have attacked President Donald Trump for not yet talking to Waffle House hero James Shaw Jr.

In an interview last week, CNN’s Van Jones tried to provoke Shaw into bashing Trump, to no avail. “I know he has a busy agenda, busy schedule,” Shaw told Jones. “Maybe he just hasn’t gotten around to me and maybe my time is coming. It’s not for me to judge whether what he does is just, you know, I did what I did. I didn’t really do for recognition, I did it just to save my life, honestly.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Recent studies suggest that “media coverage of mass shootings can have a significant impact on the psyches of potential mass shooters — that such potential mass shooters have a cognitive craving for attention, which they know they will receive for committing atrocities.” For this reason, The Daily Wire no longer publishes names and images of mass shooters as it has become increasingly clear in recent years that “the value of public knowledge regarding specific names and photographs of mass shooters is significantly outweighed by the possibility of encouraging more mass shootings.”
