President Donald Trump slammed NBC News’ Peter Alexander on Wednesday for masquerading as a reporter while acting like a Democratic activist and declared that NBC News was even worse than CNN.
Alexander, who has a history of asking inappropriate questions, repeatedly shouted questions at the president that are often parroted by Democratic politicians as he tried to grandstand the president.
“If you’d stop being an organ of the Democrats, you’d let me answer the question, I’ll answer it very easily, it’s a very simple question,” Trump said to Alexander.
Several moments later, after Alexander continued to obnoxiously shout at Trump, Trump unloaded on Alexander.
“This guy is the most biased reporter, NBC,” Trump said. “Peter is such a biased [reporter]. You should be able to ask a question, same question, in a better way. You are so obviously biased and that’s why the public has no confidence in the media.”
“NBC News has less credibility with guys like you than CNN,” Trump continued moments later. “I think CNN has more credibility than NBC News.”
Trump then walked over to a CNN reporter and said: “Did you hear what I said? I said you have more credibility than this guy and that’s not saying much, you know why? Because I don’t think you have very much credibility. NBC has less credibility than CNN, that’s not saying much.”
Alexander responded to Trump calling him out by falsely claiming on Twitter: “Trump called me ‘an organ of the Democrats.’ Here was the question he didn’t like: ‘You said Russia was kicked out of the G8 because they outsmarted Obama; in fact it was because they annexed Crimea … They’re still there, why let them back in?'”
It did not seem to be any one specific question that set Trump off — it was Alexander’s repeated shouting and obnoxious behavior with which Trump became annoyed, as evidenced by non-verbal cues from the president.
