<p>Senator <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tim-scott">Tim Scott</a> (R-S.C.) fired back at &#8220;The View&#8221; on Tuesday after several of the ABC show&#8217;s liberal co-hosts leveled racially-charged attacks against him.</p>
<p>Scott, who recently made an official announcement declaring his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, was responding to a segment from Tuesday&#8217;s broadcast of the ABC midday talk show, during which white co-host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joy-behar-whitesplains-racism-to-actual-black-americans-tim-scott-and-clarence-thomas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joy Behar</a> had claimed that neither Scott nor black conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas &#8220;understood&#8221; what it was really like to be black in America.</p>

<p>&#8220;[Tim Scott] is one of these guys who — you know, he’s like Clarence Thomas — a black Republican who believes in pulling yourself by your bootstraps rather than, to me, understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country and other minorities,&#8221; Behar said. &#8220;He doesn’t get it. Neither does Clarence, and that’s why they’re Republicans.&#8221;</p>
<p>Co-host Whoopi Goldberg agreed with Behar&#8217;s assessment, saying that Scott had &#8220;Clarence Thomas Syndrome.&#8221; Sunny Hostin complained that Scott assumed other black Americans could make it because he had — and she argued that was not the case.</p>
<p>But Scott <a href="https://hannity.com/media-room/living-proof-tim-scott-fires-back-at-ladies-of-the-view-my-life-disproves-the-lefts-lies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told Fox News</a> there was &#8220;no question my life disproves the lies of the radical Left&#8221; — and he argued that contrary to what Hostin had claimed, he was an example of the rule rather than the exception.</p>
<p>Citing his grandfather – an illiterate cotton field worker – Scott said he was told growing up, &#8220;You can be bitter or better, but you can&#8217;t be both.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Meekness is not weakness. I believe in the Gospel. I believe Matthew 5:44 says ‘Love your enemies&#8217; &#8212; [but] if you break in my house, I also believe in the Second Amendment,&#8221; Scott said.</p>
