Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook claimed there is “no evidence” that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) or his team funded or directed professional left-wing agitators to foment violence at Donald Trump’s campaign events.

In a Sunday interview with left-wing CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union, Mook was asked about James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas investigation revealing connections between left-wing agitators inciting violence at Trump’s rallies, the DNC, Clinton’s campaign, and pro-Clinton super PACs.

Mook derisively described the Project Veritas video as “edited,” adding that the “full context” of the investigation’s targets’ statements was therefore unknown.

A partial transcript is below:

Tapper: We talked about this before the last debate, but two Democratic operatives, Robert Creamer and Scott Foval were caught on tape talking about instigating violence at a Trump rally in Foval’s case. The last time we spoke, you said any violence is unacceptable. Have you looked into whether or not Democratic operatives paid by the Democratic National Committee were actually instigating these horrific actions, these violent actions we saw at Trump rallies. That’s, I mean, I’m sure you would agree, if that’s true, that’s really offensive.

Mook: Well, violence is unacceptable. These individuals no longer have any relationship with the DNC. They’ve never had a relationship with the Clinton campaign, and my understanding is that the events that are references happened in February of last year, they did not have a contract with the DNC until June. But putting all that aside, this was again, a video that was leaked out for the purpose of damaging the campaign. It was edited, so we don’t know what the full context is, and there is no evidence whatsoever that we have been able to find that anyone ever did anything like this when they were working for the DNC.

Last week, Project Veritas released video of its undercover investigation revealing professional direction and funding of left-wing agitators to foment violence at Trump rallies. The agitators are revealed to be linked with the DNC, Clinton’s campaign, and super PACs aligned with Clinton.

Tapper and the rest of his CNN colleagues have refused to interview O’Keefe or his team in relation to its investigation.

CNN attempted to cast doubt on the Project Veritas revelations, using weasel words and unsourced claims. An article about the investigation written in part by Drew Griffin asserts: “In the past, O’Keefe and his Project Veritas Action have been criticized for strategically editing footage to create false accusations about people or groups.” No information is provided regarding the source(s) of the criticism or of its veracity.

For its part, CNN has run article after article after article after article after article after article after article depicting Trump as inciting violence at his own rallies. Hundreds of hours have been spent by CNN and other left-wing television news outlets pushing the same narrative of Trump as an instigator of violence and of his supporters as prone to violence. Left-wing media outlets such as CNN have refused to investigate the dimension of professional agitators, instead serving as their communications arm.

CNN continues to present itself as an objective, non-partisan, and unbiased news organization.
