Mom Of Teen YouTube Star Sued For Abuse By Daughter’s Friends Heads To Court In $22M Civil Case
The mother of a teenage YouTube creator is set to be in court Monday following allegations of sexually, physically, and emotionally abusing 11 of her daughter’s friends and co-creators.
Tiffany Smith is the mother of 15-year-old YouTube star Piper Rockelle. The teen has more than ten million subscribers and nearly two billion views on her channel, which was demonetized in February 2022.
The lawsuit was filed in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, in January 2023. Plaintiffs are 11 former members of the “Piper Squad,” a group of teen YouTube creators who made vlog-style videos along with Piper to gain subscribers, per Business Insider.
The group is suing Smith and her boyfriend, Hunter Hill, claiming emotional and sexual abuse plus financial exploitation. The lawsuit alleges that Smith made sexually explicit comments to the teens and had other instances of inappropriate contact with them.
The civil suit alleges that on one occasion, Smith asked one of the teens how long his penis was. She also allegedly told another YouTube creator that she was flat-chested, as The New York Post reported.
One creator claimed that she accompanied Smith to the post office to mail Piper’s old underwear to an unknown person, because she allegedly said, “Old men like to smell this stuff.”
Smith was also accused of touching the underage content creators’ legs, thighs, and buttocks inappropriately and encouraging the teens to be sexually aggressive during video shoots to make the staged romantic connections look more real, per the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs also say they weren’t compensated for participating in the video shoots but acknowledge that they were never promised any payment.

Smith and Hill “generally and specifically” denied every allegation listed in the plaintiffs’ complaint last May, the publication noted.
Smith countersued for $30 million in July, claiming the plaintiffs’ mothers worked together to extort money by lying about the alleged sexual abuse. Smith dropped the countersuit shortly after, according to an NBC News report.
One of the mothers of a creator said the “Squad” teens staged romances with each other, which led to issues such as online bullying and harassment.
“I just want peace back with my kids,” Ashley Anne-Rock Smith said. Smith’s two daughters are plaintiffs in the suit and Rockelle’s cousins.
“I want all predators who hurt young kids to be brought to justice,” Smith said. “I also hope we move the needle on these platforms that are allowing this.”
