<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sean-diddy-combs">Sean “Diddy” Combs</a> has been given a date for his upcoming trial for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexual-abuse">sex trafficking</a> and racketeering <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">charges</a> filed in September.
The music mogul attended a hearing on Thursday during which it was announced that his trial will begin May 5, 2025, in Manhattan. Combs appeared in court wearing a beige prison uniform and sitting beside his attorneys. US District Judge Arun Subramanian issued a gag order preventing his attorneys or prosecutors from discussing the case publicly or with the media.
Combs’ family, including his six children and his mother, were in attendance at the hearing. The rap artist was seen mouthing &#8220;I love you&#8221; to the group and putting his hand to his heart, per <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0qz32wzeego">BBC</a>.
The 54-year-old was arrested in September. Federal authorities allege Combs had “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes,” per a U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York. 
Prosecutors also said Combs “engaged in a persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse toward women and other individuals. This abuse was, at times, verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual,” as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sean-diddy-combs-charged-with-racketeering-sex-trafficking-by-force">reported</a>.
Combs is also facing 120 or more additional lawsuits in the near future, including complaints from at least 25 minors. Attorney Tony Buzbee said that his law firm, along with California firm AVA Law Group, would be filing the cases individually rather than as part of a class action suit.
The rapper’s mother issued a statement addressing the charges, saying, “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies. To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.”

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/maryland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Maryland</a> Department of State Police (MDSP) agreed to shell out $2.75 million in back pay to black applicants who failed a simple written test and female applicants who failed a basic physical test.
Because black applicants failed the written test at a higher rate than white applicants, and female applicants failed the physical test at a higher rate than male applicants, the U.S. Department of Justice determined the tests were racist and sexist. Last week, the DOJ <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-secures-agreement-maryland-department-state-police-resolve-allegations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it had reached a settlement agreement with the MDSP that included paying those who failed the test $2.75 million in back pay as if they would have been hired had they not failed the tests, and changing the tests so that equal numbers of black applicants and female applicants pass, among other provisions.
The written test, called the Police Officer Selection Test (POST), consists of 75 questions and includes a basic math, reading comprehension, and grammar section. It also has a short section about writing police reports. Applicants need only an aggregate score of 70% on all components to pass, as well as a 70% score on each of the reading, grammar, and report writing components.
A copy of the test <a href="https://mdsp.maryland.gov/Careers/Trooper%20and%20Cadet%20Application%20Documents/POST%20Study%20Guide_MSP.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found online</a> includes early grade-school level math and reading comprehension questions. The first sample test question is about basic time-telling skills.

The sample test questions for reading comprehension include a few paragraphs that include the answers in the provided paragraph. The section about filling out police reports includes a blank copy of a police report and a paragraph about a reported crime. Applicants would then be asked questions the answers for which could be found in the paragraph. The grammar section asks only the most basic questions, requiring applicants to know the difference between &#8220;its&#8221; and &#8220;it’s,&#8221; as well as simple conjugation (the test does not use the word “conjugation”) and spelling.

According to the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/crt/media/1371936/dl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a> against the MDSP, applicants can take the POST up to four times within a 12-month period. If they fail to get 70% on those four attempts, they must wait one year from the final failure date in order to try again. Failing this test will also prevent them from moving forward in the hiring process.
Since 2017, according to the lawsuit, approximately 91% of white applicants passed the POST at least once, compared to just 71% of black applicants. Because of this disparate impact &#8212; and without showing how a test about basic math and reading skills can be racist &#8212; the DOJ determined the MDSP violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, claiming the test discriminated against black applicants.

As for the physical test, applicants were required to complete 18 push-ups within a minute, 27 sit-ups within a minute, reach about 1.5 inches beyond their toes while sitting, and run 1.5 miles within 15 minutes and 20 seconds. Applicants were allowed to take the physical test up to three times in a given year, and would not move forward in the application process if they failed all three times.
According to the lawsuit, 81% of male applicants passed the physical test at least once, compared to only 51% of female applicants. Using the same logic as the written test, the DOJ determined the physical test was somehow discriminatory because women failed at a higher rate than men.
DOJ argued that “using the POST as a pass/fail screening device for its selection of entry-level troopers which (i) results in a disparate impact on African-American candidates, (ii) is not job related for the position in question or consistent with business necessity, and (iii) does not otherwise meet the requirements of Section 703(k) of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(k).”
The DOJ similarly argued that the physical test “as a pass/fail screening device for its selection of entry-level troopers which (i) results in a disparate impact on female candidates, (ii) is not job related for the position in question or consistent with business necessity, and (iii) does not otherwise meet the requirements of Section 703(k) of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(k).”
The MDSP agreed to a settlement with the DOJ, and must now provide written and physical tests that result in similar pass/fail rates for applicants regardless of sex or race &#8212; it is unclear how the MDSP can accomplish that without reducing standards. The MDSP must also provide data to the DOJ about its new tests to ensure it is complying with the DOJ’s demands, pay $2.75 million in back pay to applicants who failed the test and therefore weren’t hired (the assumption being they would have otherwise been hired), and hire up to 25 of the failed applicants.
One option for the MDSP is to adopt the physical test required of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, which lowered its standards to attract more female applicants, The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nashville-police-dept-changes-standards-to-increase-number-of-female-officers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The previous physical test in Nashville was similar to the one in Maryland, but the new test &#8212; called an “agility” test &#8212; “consists of a 99-yard agility run, a rescue simulation (dummy drag), chain link fence climb, solid wall climb and a 500 yard run,” <a href="https://www.nashville.gov/sites/default/files/2022-10/Civil-Service-Test-Comparison-Public-Report.pdf?ct=1667220679" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the MNPD</a>. When Nashville implemented the different test, the fail rate fell from 6% to 2%.

Janice Small Combs released a statement Sunday through her attorney, Natlie G. Figgers, per <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/sean-diddy-combs-mother-janice-defends-rapper-sex-crime-allegations-1236025510/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>. Janice insists that her son is being unfairly portrayed in the media.
“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” the statement says. “To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.”
The statement also made reference to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">allegations</a> of rape and assault <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Diddy</a> faced last year from his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The rap artist initially denied those claims, but then a hotel surveillance video started circulating, leading to Combs admitting wrongdoing and apologizing. Ventura agreed to a settlement.
“My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise,” Janice’s statement went on. 
“Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed. This is why I believe my son’s civil legal team opted to settle the ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit instead of contesting it until the end, resulting in a ricochet effect as the federal government used this decision against my son by interpreting it as an admission of guilt.”

Janice insisted that the incident with Ventura should not serve as proof of Diddy’s guilt on the other allegations. 
“Many individuals who were wrongfully convicted and later exonerated had their freedom taken from them not because they were guilty of the crimes they were accused of, but because they didn’t fit the image of what this society considers to be a ‘good person,&#8217;” the statement continues. “History has showed [sic] us how individuals can be wrongfully convicted due to their past actions or mistakes.”
“Watching the world make jokes and laugh at my son’s life crumbling before our eyes is something I can never forget. It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side,” the statement continued. 
Diddy is facing 120 or more additional lawsuits in the near future, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/diddy-faces-more-than-120-additional-abuse-lawsuits-from-at-least-25-minors">reported</a>, including complaints from at least 25 minors. His mother said she believes these complaints are motivated by greed.
“These lies thrown at him are motivated by those seeking a financial gain, and not justice,” she said. 
“These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believe they can receive a quick payday by falsely accusing my son. False allegations of sexual assault thwart true victims of sexual violence from getting the justice they deserve. To make matters worse, the federal government is now using these lies to prosecute my son. This injustice has been unbearable for our family. The worst part of this ordeal is watching my beloved son be stripped of his dignity, not for what he did, but for what people choose to believe about him.”

Country singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/garth-brooks">Garth Brooks</a> has been accused of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexual-abuse">sexual assault</a> by a former hair and makeup artist who worked for his family.
The 27-page lawsuit was filed on Thursday on behalf of &#8220;Jane Roe,&#8221; who claims the incidents occurred over several years. Roe said one of the alleged incidents included Brooks forcing her to touch his erect penis while she was styling his hair.  The suit also includes details of Brooks allegedly raping her in a Los Angeles hotel room in 2019 while she was helping him get ready for a Grammy tribute, per <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/10/04/nx-s1-5139950/garth-brooks-sexual-assault-accusation-lawsuit">NPR</a>.
Roe accused Brooks of repeatedly exposing his genitals and buttocks to her, talking about sex, sharing sexual fantasies, and sending sexually explicit text messages, per <a href="https://www.today.com/popculture/news/garth-brooks-accused-sexual-assault-battery-former-hair-makeup-artist-rcna173966">Today</a>. The country singer also stands <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/garth-brooks-breaks-silence-on-sexual-assault-battery-allegations/">accused of</a> “repeated remarks” about “having a threesome” with his wife, singer Tricia Yearwood.
The plaintiff said she had initially worked for Yearwood beginning in 1999 and started working for Brooks beginning in 2017.
Roe’s legal team noted that the “Friends in Low Places” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/country-music">singer</a> filed a preemptive lawsuit anonymously in September, saying he was being extorted for money from a former employee because he had refused to give her a raise or pay for health insurance.
Brooks has denied the allegations. A statement from his legal team said, &#8220;(Roe&#8217;s) false allegations and her threats to wrongfully assassinate (Brooks&#8217;) character through the public airing of such revulsive and untrue allegations have caused (Brooks) emotional distress including anxiety and fear for himself and his family.&#8221; 
It continues, &#8220;(Roe&#8217;s) attempted extortion of (Brooks) for millions of dollars through such untrue, lewd allegations constitutes intentional, outrageous conduct that was intended to and did in fact cause (Brooks) serious mental injury, amounting to an intentional infliction of emotional distress.&#8221;
&#8220;For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars,” Brooks said in the statement. “ It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face. Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of — ugly acts no human should ever do to another.&#8221;
&#8220;We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides, &#8221; he added.
&#8220;I want to play music tonight. I want to continue our good deeds going forward. Roe announced her intention to move forward with a jury trial. She is seeking monetary and punitive damages plus attorney’s fees.
&#8220;We applaud our client’s courage in moving forward with her complaint against Garth Brooks,&#8221; Roe&#8217;s legal team wrote in a statement. &#8220;The complaint filed today demonstrates that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood and in the rap and rock and roll industries but also in the world of country music.&#8221;
&#8220;We are confident that Brooks will be held accountable for his actions and his efforts to silence our client through the filing of a preemptive complaint in Mississippi was nothing other than an act of desperation and attempted intimidation,&#8221; the statement says. &#8220;We encourage others who may have been victimized to contact us as no survivor should suffer in silence.&#8221;
Brooks performed in Las Vegas on Thursday night just after the news broke. As <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sean-diddy-combs">Sean “Diddy” Combs</a> remains behind bars awaiting federal trial, a Houston lawyer has announced he will be filing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuits</a> against the recording artist on behalf of more than 120 plaintiffs, including at least 25 minors.
Attorney Tony Buzbee said that his law firm, along with California firm AVA Law Group, will be filing the cases individually rather than as part of a class action suit. “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors,” Buzbee said during the news conference, per <a href="https://www.billboard.com/pro/diddy-lawsuits-120-new-sex-abuse-victims-lawyer/">Billboard.</a> “We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates.”
Buzbee said the alleged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/crime">incidents</a> occurred between 1991 and 2024. The lawyer&#8217;s office was contacted by more than 3,000 individuals and the number of filings could increase as vetting continues. He said he would begin filing lawsuits in multiple states over the next 30 days.
In addition to these new suits, at least 12 individuals have filed civil lawsuits against Combs over the last year. Federal prosecutors previously stated that there are “dozens of victims” who are referenced in the racketeering and sex trafficking case against Combs. 
Buzbee alleged that in one case, a 9-year-old boy was sexually abused after he auditioned at the Bad Boy Records Studio in New York City, per <a href="https://people.com/sean-diddy-combs-accused-sexually-abusing-boy-nine-8721579">People</a>.
“Other boys were there to audition as well,” the lawyer stated. “All of them were trying to land a record deal. All of them were minors. This individual [the 9-year-old] was sexually abused, allegedly by Sean Combs and several other people at the studio with the promise to both his parents and himself of getting a record deal.”
The lawsuits are close to evenly split between male and female plaintiffs. Alleged victims claimed they were abused at all different types of Diddy&#8217;s parties, including album release events, New Year&#8217;s Eve, &#8220;all white parties,&#8221; &#8220;puppy parties,&#8221; and at auditions in Los Angeles, Miami, Manhattan, and the Hamptons.
Combs’s attorney Erica Wolff denied the allegations, saying, &#8220;As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”

The rapper allegedly used “force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers” during the events, prosecutors said. “In arranging these Freak Offs, COMBS, with the assistance of members and associates of the Combs Enterprise, transported, and caused to be transported, commercial sex workers across state lines and internationally.”

Diddy Faces More Than 120 Additional Abuse Lawsuits From At Least 25 Minors

A coffee shop owner who was bullied off the Boise State University campus for being pro-cop has won a $4 million award.
Sarah Fendley, owner of Big City Coffee, was forced to leave the BSU campus in 2020 after she was harassed by students for displaying a pro-police flag following the George Floyd riots, Campus Reform <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article/boise-state-coffee-shop-owner-forced-support-police-wins-4-million-lawsuit-/26448" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Fendley sued the university, claiming her First Amendment rights were violated, and after a nine-day jury trial in early September, she was awarded $3 million in damages for business losses and another $1 million for punitive damages, The College Fix <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/pro-cop-cafe-owner-wins-4-million-after-boise-state-bullying/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“We’re very grateful,” Fendley’s attorney Mike Roe said, <a href="https://www.idahoednews.org/top-news/big-city-awarded-3-million-in-lawsuit-against-boise-state-administrators/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to Idaho Ed News</a>. “The system worked and we had a great jury and the clerk was great. Sarah got her day after all of these years. … We’re very pleased.”
Big City Coffee was only operating on campus for four months when it was forced out of its contract with the university due to campus bullying, the Fix <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/boise-state-students-bully-coffee-vendor-off-campus-for-supporting-thin-blue-line/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in November 2020.
Fendley began supporting The Thin Blue Line organization in 2016 after her police officer partner was shot five times by an escaped prisoner. Her partner lost his leg and is now in a wheelchair. A police K9 unit was also killed trying to protect him.
Fendley has displayed Thin Blue Line flags at her other coffee shop locations ever since without issue, but when she put up the flag at BSU, students revolted.
“Big City is very supportive of the Thin Blue Line which we know is not supportive of people of color,” one student said at a September 2020 Inclusive Excellence Student Council meeting, according to the Fix. “I believe that they should have never been brought to campus and if it can be reversed it should be.”

The school reportedly panicked and forced the coffee shop off campus, prompting Fendley’s lawsuit.
“I’m thankful that the truth finally came out and grateful to the jury for their time and effort,” Fendley said following the verdict, according to Campus Reform. “It’s been a long four years, and I’m just happy that it’s over.”
BSU plans to appeal and take the case to the Idaho Supreme Court.
“We respectfully but strongly disagree with today’s verdict and plan to appeal,” BSU administrators said, per Campus Reform. “We were honoring the First Amendment rights of all involved.”

The Biden-Harris administration, which has consistently undermined the state of Israel during its year-long battle against the Islamist terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, is joining the United Nations to invoke immunity for UNRWA and its employees who aided and abetted Hamas in its murderous massacre of more than 1220 people in Israel last October 7.
In August, the UN admitted that nine UNRWA employees “may have been involved in the seventh of October attacks.” “Some of those employees were described as teachers and social workers — and included an Arabic instructor who was revealed to be a Hamas military commander that helped slaughter Kibbutz Be’eri,” the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/08/05/world-news/un-admits-nine-unrwa-staffers-may-have-been-involved-in-oct-7-attack-on-israel/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>.
In June, more than 100 victims of the October 7 massacre filed a lawsuit against UNRWA, saying UNRWA “knowingly providing Hamas with the US dollars in cash that it needed to pay smugglers for weapons, explosives, and other terror materiel” and that Hamas money changers collected 10%-25% on transactions, “ensuring that a predictable percentage of UNRWA’s payroll went to Hamas.”

But the United Nations and the Biden-Harris administration want to whitewash the issue and make its employees immune from prosecution, <a href="https://www.jpost.com/israel-hamas-war/article-821221" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declaring,</a> “Since the UN has not waived immunity in this instance, its subsidiary, UNRWA, continues to enjoy absolute immunity from prosecution, and the lawsuit should be dismissed.”
“The plaintiff&#8217;s complaint does not present a legal basis for claiming that the United Nations waived its immunity,” Biden’s DOJ echoed. “Therefore, because the UN has not waived immunity in this case, its subsidiary, UNRWA, retains full immunity, and the lawsuit against UNRWA should be dismissed due to lack of subject matter jurisdiction.”

Rapper T.I. and his wife, R&amp;B singer Tameka “Tiny” Harris, won $71 million in a lawsuit they brought against the toy manufacturer MGA Entertainment. 
The couple claimed that MGA violated their intellectual property rights for the musical group OMG Girlz with the creation of the massively popular L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls. 
The singing group OMG Girlz included Bahja Rodriguez, Breaunna Womack, and Tiny’s daughter Zonnique Pullins. They disbanded in 2015.
The total amount of money awarded includes $17.8 million in real damages, or profits the company made on the toys, and $53.6 million in punitive damages, per <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/maryroeloffs/2024/09/24/rapper-ti-and-wife-tiny-win-71-million-in-lawsuit-against-maker-of-lol-surprise-dolls-the-case-explained/">Forbes</a>.
Jurors found that more than a dozen L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls “infringed on the trade dress and misappropriated the name, image, and likeness of the all-female band that T.I. and Tiny formed in 2009,” per a report from <a href="https://people.com/t-i-and-tiny-awarded-71-million-in-lawsuit-against-toy-maker-8717228">People.</a>
MGA argued that it didn’t copy off the “short-lived” band or cost them business opportunities. 
This lawsuit represents the third time T.I. and Tiny sued over the appearance of the dolls, accusing the company of &#8220;cultural appropriation and outright theft.” The first court case ended in a mistrial, and the second jury ruled in favor of MGA before the verdict was overturned on appeal. It’s still possible for the toy manufacturer to appeal the current ruling.

A University of Indiana-Bloomington student was awarded six figures in damages after a jury found the university had discriminated against him based on his sex.
The student, who will be referred to as John Doe, appears to be the first student who has won on Title IX grounds – that is, he was found to be discriminated against specifically because he was a male and not on the grounds that the school breached its contract with him.
In June 2020, John was a student at IU and matched with a woman who will be referred to as Jane Doe on a dating app. On the evening of June 16, 2020, Jane texted John and agreed to come to his house for a date, even after John suggested meeting somewhere else. Jane arrived at John’s house, and the two talked for a bit. They had two glasses of wine, including a glass Jane had poured for each of them.
Just after midnight, Jane received a phone call from a friend asking if she needed a ride home, but she said no. She texted the friend about 40 minutes later to say “looks like I’ll be here a hot minute,” according to court documents reviewed by The Daily Wire.
Jane would later claim that immediately after this, she “blacked out” and didn’t remember anything that happened – and suggested that John had drugged her.
John says in his lawsuit against the university that Jane showed no signs of incapacitation or being blacked out – which is a state of mind where the brain doesn’t form short-term memories, but people in such a state can appear completely coherent. He said Jane started kissing him, and the two went up to his room where they, two math majors, completed complex math problems. The two then laid down in John’s bed and, according to John, Jane initiated sexual contact with him, removing her shirt and bra and initiating kissing.
John said in his lawsuit that he asked to stop, feeling they were moving too fast. He went to the bathroom and returned to find Jane asleep in his bed, so he got into bed next to her and fell asleep as well.
At some point, Jane started receiving calls from her roommate but wouldn’t wake up when John tried to let her know. He said he eventually answered the call and said Jane was asleep and didn’t want to talk. Jane’s roommate told him that she was coming to get Jane.
This roommate later said they found Jane naked in John’s bed and that she appeared “out of it.” With John’s help, the roommate and another friend gathered Jane’s things and left John’s house.
Early the next morning, John texted Jane to say he was “sorry about last night,” referring to the awkwardness of Jane leaving his home. Jane claimed she didn’t know what happened and that her roommate was mad at her. Jane claimed she “did not know how she got that drunk” and told John she was “really sorry,” according to court documents.
The two discussed the events of the previous night and Jane’s level of intoxication. About seven hours after their encounter, Jane texted John, saying, “You do realize you sexually assaulted me, right? I just talked to my roommate and got a much better idea of what happened last night.”
John didn’t respond.
A couple of days later, Jane went to the hospital for a rape test kit and drug test. She then reported John to the police and IU. Police investigated, and no charges were brought, but IU went ahead with its own investigation that didn’t allow John full use of counsel, denied him the ability to cross-examine witnesses, and gave him only a single, time-limited chance to see the evidence against him.
He was found not responsible for drugging Jane – and she never turned over the results of her drug test – but was still found responsible for sexually assaulting her, even by her own admission she only had 2-and-a-half glasses of wine.

John sued the university, and the case went all the way to a jury trial, which ruled in favor of John and awarded him $136,782.60, which, according to his attorney, Jonathan Little, is less than what he paid in legal fees.
Little told The Daily Wire that he typically represents victims but has been taking cases involving false accusations of men on college campuses.
“The process given to these men is just a farce,” he said, noting that the current campus climate at IU and other schools “gives the impression that any young lady can run to Indiana University and cry rape.”
He added that IU spent the trial going over its policies, essentially arguing that it could follow its own policies and not the law set forth under Title IX.
“IU’s hubris lost them this case and I hope that what we did is replicable – I believe that it is – and I hope that other lawyers can look at this and do the same thing,” he told The Daily Wire.
The university did not respond to a Daily Wire inquiry prior to press time.

A federal judge shot down an attempt by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/colony-ridge" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Colony Ridge</a>, a massive land development north of Houston, Texas, that has systematically attracted illegal immigrants, to dismiss a joint Department of Justice and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau lawsuit against the development.
Judge Alfred Bennett <a href="https://houstonlanding.org/judge-rejects-attempt-to-dismiss-department-of-justice-lawsuit-against-colony-ridge/">rejected</a> Colony Ridge’s motion to dismiss the civil suit, which alleges that the sprawling development targeted Hispanic buyers with predatory lending practices and took advantage of language barriers, advertising in Spanish while presenting loan documents in English.
The joint lawsuit is the first of its kind to allege that a defendant engaged in predatory mortgage lending and “reverse redlining” by specifically targeting Hispanic buyers with unfavorable terms before churning them through foreclosures. The suit, announced in December, came amid a series of investigations from The Daily Wire revealing Colony Ridge’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-colony-ridge-the-fastest-growing-development-in-the-u-s-is-a-magnet-for-illegal-immigrants">intentional marketing</a> to illegal aliens, with social media advertisements that encourage potential buyers to “own land in the United States.”
Colony Ridge’s lawyer, Ari Cuenin, argued in August that the government did not meet the legal standard to claim that the development was engaged in reverse redlining. Judge Bennett disagreed, stating that the “allegations, taken as true, easily satisfy the elements of a reverse redlining claim.”

“As such, plaintiffs plausibly allege that Colony Ridge discriminated against Hispanic consumers, as required for an Equal Credit Opportunity Act claim,” Bennett added. The federal judge did, however, dismiss a company that created loan documents on behalf of Colony Ridge from the suit.
The development, which spans more than 60 square miles, maintained many of its controversial marketing and financial tactics amid the lawsuit. One Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/colony-ridge-appears-to-maintain-marketing-strategy-after-doj-lawsuit-for-predatory-lending">investigation</a> found that Colony Ridge boasted that it does not check the creditworthiness of potential buyers even as it faced the federal lawsuit over predatory lending. Colony Ridge, operated by brothers John and William “Trey” Harris, offers loans on land sales at a 12.9 percent interest rate.
In addition to the joint federal lawsuit, Colony Ridge also faces a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/texas-attorney-general-ken-paxton-sues-colony-ridge-alleges-fraudulent-practices">lawsuit</a> from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, which similarly alleges that the development uses deceptive trade practices to churn buyers through a cycle of foreclosures.
Paxton told The Daily Wire that “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ag-paxton-literally-every-sale-by-colony-ridge-could-be-in-violation-of-consumer-protection-law">literally every sale</a>” made by Colony Ridge could be fraudulent, with each violation coming with a penalty of at least $10,000. With an estimated 50,000 to 75,000 residents, the financial penalties could be catastrophic for the development.
Colony Ridge faces an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/environmental-protection-agency-confirms-active-investigation-into-colony-ridge">ongoing investigation</a> from the Environmental Protection Agency, the scope and results of which have yet to be made public. The development is also <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/12/29/news/feds-sue-illegal-immigrant-magnet-colony-ridge-developers/">reportedly</a> facing investigations from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

A class action <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuit</a> has been filed against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/youtube">YouTube</a> star MrBeast and Amazon by five former contestants on the unreleased reality competition show, “Beast Games.”
The plaintiffs allege general mistreatment, sexual harassment, and other violations, court documents show. A redacted version of the lawsuit became available after it was filed on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, per <a href="https://variety.com/2024/digital/news/mrbeast-amazon-sued-beast-games-contestants-class-action-1236148181/">Variety</a>.
“<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">Beast Games</a>” had a $100 million production budget, the suit states. Creator MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/18/business/mrbeast-amazon-deal-reality-show/index.html">discussed</a> the game show in March, saying it includes “over 1,000 contestants, $5,000,000 prize, and many other world records,” making it the “largest game show in history.” It is scheduled to be released on Prime Video. 
The lawsuit alleges that Amazon and MrBeast’s production company (Off One’s Base LLC) committed several offenses, including failing to pay minimum wages and overtime, failing to prevent sexual harassment, and creating conditions that led to “infliction of emotional distress.” The plaintiffs said they were not provided uninterrupted meal breaks or rest breaks and were exposed to “dangerous circumstances and conditions as a condition of their employment.” 
They also claimed to be subjected to a “culture of misogyny and sexism.”

“While participants knew upon signing the contract at the production’s inception that they were facing a potentially long and challenging competition, they allege getting a lot more than they bargained for,” attorneys for the five anonymous plaintiffs said in the 54-page document. “Several contestants ending up hospitalized, while others reported suffering physical and mental complications while being subjected to chronic mistreatment, degradation and, for the female contestants, hostile working conditions.”
Most of the specifics of the sexual harassment claims were redacted from the document. But one section discusses “a pattern of sexual harassment.” 
For example, plaintiffs claim that in the “How to Succeed in MrBeast Production” employee handbook, it says, “If talent wants to draw a d*** on the white board in the video or do something stupid, let them… Really do everything you can to empower the boys when filming and help them make content. Help them be idiots.”
The New York Times ran an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/02/style/mrbeast-beast-games-competition-show.html">article</a> last month detailing allegations from former contestants about the conditions on the game show. They said several participants fainted, vomited, or were hospitalized during the competition. A spokesperson for Donaldson acknowledged the issues, telling the outlet at the time that filming was “unfortunately complicated&#8221; by the global <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/delta-american-other-major-airlines-grounded-amid-mass-it-outage-other-industries-impacted">CrowdStrike disruption</a> in July, extreme weather, and &#8220;other unexpected logistical and communications issues.”

In June, the convicted felon filed his <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-moves-dismiss-rodney-jones-sexual-assault-lawsuit-against-rapper">lawsuit against Combs</a> alleging that the music entreprenuer drugged and sexually assaulted him at a party in 1997. On August 7, the judge granted a temporary restraining order against Combs following Cardello-Smith’s request against the rapper after Combs once again failed to appear virtually for the court date.

Cardello-Smith is described in the judgement as a “Michigan inmate known for his long history of challenging the judicial system with civil lawsuits,” Variety noted.

Marc Agnifilo, attorney for Combs, told Fox News Digital, “this man is a convicted felon and sexual predator, who has been sentenced on 14 counts of sexual assault and kidnapping over the last 26 years.”
&#8220;His resume now includes committing a fraud on the court from prison, as Mr. Combs has never heard of him let alone been served with any lawsuit,” the attorney added. &#8220;Mr. Combs looks forward to having this judgment swiftly dismissed.&#8221;
According to <a href="https://www.metrotimes.com/news/michigan-inmate-wins-100-million-judgment-against-sean-diddy-combs-for-sexual-assault-37301149">Detroit Metro Times</a>, the inmate claimed to have been working at a restaurant in the Detroit area when he met Combs. The Michigan inmate also produced visitation records showing Diddy had visited the inmate, the outlet noted. He also claimed the rapper offered him $2.3 million to dismiss the lawsuit.
The accusations follow a slew of sexual assault lawsuits by women against Combs accusing the rapper of sexual abuse or harassment. He has denied the sexual assault allegations.
In June, Combs admitted he’d beaten ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura following the release of video of the attack in a hotel hallway in 2016.
