Melania Trump slammed “unnamed sources” claiming to know her reaction to former President Donald Trump’s indictment on 34 felony counts and his post-arraignment speech.
The former first lady’s office on Tuesday released a statement on Twitter hitting back at speculation about her absence at both events.
“News organizations have made assumptions about the former First Lady’s stance on subjects that are personal, professional, and political over the past few weeks,” the first part of the statement read. “In these articles, unnamed sources are cited to bolster the author’s claims.”
“We ask readers to exercise caution and good judgment when determining whether or not stories concerning the former First Lady are accurate, particularly when they fail to cite Mrs. Trump as a source of information,” the statement concluded.

The comments were the first public ones the former FLOTUS reps have made since Mr. Trump flew to Manhattan on April 4, where he was arrested and arraigned on criminal charges.
After Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felonies, he flew back to Florida and delivered a fiery speech from his Mar-a-Lago estate slamming the charges.
Headlines pointed out that Melania was nowhere to be seen during her husband’s trip to New York and was noticeably absent during the speech in Florida that followed.
Former Melania aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff told Page Six that the former first lady “lives in an ivory tower of denial.”
“I never expected to see her there,” the former aide explained. “Her silence is deliberate, it is her weapon of choice and her protective armor. Of course she knows about Donald’s affairs, she knows everything. But her silence is her dignity.”
“She will stand by her husband, as she always does,” Wolkoff added. “I don’t think Melania is humiliated by his affairs — but she is angry. Still she isn’t leaving him.”
