Former first lady Melania Trump spoke out about her pro-abortion views in a short clip promoting her upcoming memoir, saying &#8220;there is no room for compromise&#8221; on the issue of women being allowed to abort their unborn children.
Melania said she has &#8220;carried&#8221; her pro-abortion views &#8220;throughout [her] entire adult life,&#8221; a break from her husband&#8217;s pro-life record while he was in office. Her remarks on abortion come less than five weeks before the 2024 election as Democrats are focusing on the issue to motivate their base.

Former President Trump&#8217;s appointment of three conservative Supreme Court justices led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, an accomplishment Trump has touted, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-was-able-kill-roe-v-wade-rcna84897" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a>, &#8220;Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing.” The Republican nominee has pushed back against some pro-life laws recently, however. During the 2024 campaign, Trump criticized a near-total abortion ban in Arizona and a six-week abortion limitation in Florida, arguing that the laws are too extreme.
In her book, Melania writes about disagreements between her and her husband, including on some aspects of immigration policy, The Guardian reported. She writes that “occasional political disagreements between me and my husband” are “part of our relationship, but I believed in addressing them privately rather than publicly challenging him.”

In her first interview in more than two years, Trump sat down with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7HZGb0ssgQ">Fox News</a> and said that under the Biden-Harris administration, &#8220;the country is suffering.&#8221;
&#8220;People are not able to buy usual necessities for their families,&#8221; Melania said.  &#8220;We have wars going on around the world. Soldiers are dying. They were dying under this administration because of weak leadership. The border is open and dangerous. A lot of fentanyl is coming over, killing our youth. It&#8217;s very hard to see.”
&#8220;[The economy] it&#8217;s really not great,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Inflation is high and, if we compare these four years under this administration compared to four years under my husband [former President Donald Trump]as commander in chief, he was leading the country through peace through strength. And the border was safer than ever before. We didn&#8217;t have any wars.&#8221;
“People were prospering. They had jobs,&#8221; Melania continued. &#8220;They could support their families, so I think the American people need to decide what they really want. Maybe some strong tweets, but everything else great for this country, so it&#8217;s all in the American people&#8217;s hands on November 5th.&#8221;

At one point, she also opened up about the multiple assassination attempts against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">her husband</a> — the one in Butler, Pennsylvania, at his rally in July that left him injured in the ear and a supporter dead and the other recent one at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida — calling it a miracle he’s still alive.
“And I think both of the events, they were really miracles,” Melania said. “If you really think about it, July 13th was a miracle. How&#8230; like that much, and he could, you know, he could not be with us,&#8221; she said.
When pressed if the attempts on Trump’s life has made her believe more in a higher power, the former first lady said, “I think something was watching over him &#8230; It’s almost like [the] country really needs him.”

Hostin, along with her cohosts on the ABC midday talk show, were responding to an interview Melania Trump gave on Fox News to promote her upcoming memoir — and the conversation, naturally, had turned to her husband and his current bid for a second term in the White House.
Whoopi Goldberg opened the segment with a clip from the interview with &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; anchor Ainsley Earhardt, pausing several times to snicker as cohost Joy Behar claimed that the interview should have had &#8220;a laugh track.&#8221;
&#8220;I have to say, I was surprised when she mentioned his sense of humor &#8230;&#8221; Goldberg snarked, turning to the table and asking whether anyone believed Melania could move the needle by entering the conversation ahead of the November election.

Hostin then pivoted to the Trumps, prefacing her comments about their marriage by saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m reluctant to comment on other people&#8217;s marriages because I don&#8217;t want anybody to comment on mine.&#8221;
She proceeded to do exactly that regardless, arguing that the only way they could stay married for nearly two decades was if they had some things in common — and in her mind, that necessarily meant that Melania was aligned with the things she hated about the former president.
&#8220;These two are like similar people,&#8221; she said, and Behar complained that Melania had &#8220;turned the rose garden into a cemetery.&#8221;

Former President Donald Trump&#8217;s youngest son Barron has declined an offer to be a delegate at this year&#8217;s Republican National Convention (RNC), but not for lack of interest in politics.
A statement from former first lady Melania Trump&#8217;s office said, &#8220;While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments,&#8221; <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4657094-barron-trump-declines-rnc-delegate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> The Hill.
Donald Trump, who is the presumptive GOP presidential nominee in the current election cycle, said in a radio interview on Friday that Barron &#8220;does like politics&#8221; and often gives his father advice on what political moves he should make.
&#8220;He’s really been a great student,” Trump said of his son who graduates from high school next week. “And he does like politics. It’s sort of funny. He’ll tell me sometimes, ‘Dad, this is what you have to do.’”
On Wednesday, the Florida Republican Party <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/barron-trump-picked-as-florida-gop-delegate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">selected</a> Barron to be an at-large delegate at the RNC in July in Milwaukee. If Barron had gone through with it, the 18-year-old would have joined his half-siblings, Don Jr., Eric, and Tiffany, to be part of the Florida delegation.
A Trump campaign official had previously told <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/barron-trump-picked-serve-florida-delegate-republican-national/story?id=110049809" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC News</a> that Barron was “on the delegation roster and … is very interested in our nation’s political process.”
Barron was just 10 years old when his father was elected to the White House in 2016. Since that time, Barron has been largely kept out of the spotlight, only occasionally appearing beside his parents and family at campaign and public events.
In recent weeks, however, the media has focused more on Donald Trump&#8217;s youngest son — who now towers over all of his family at 6&#8217;7 — as the former president sits through a criminal trial in Manhattan.

The elder Trump has pleaded not guilty.
Barron was cast into the spotlight during the trial as his father&#8217;s defense attorneys argued before Judge Juan Merchan that their client should be allowed a day off to attend Barron&#8217;s graduation ceremony next Friday. During the first two days of the trial, a handful of jurors were selected and Trump&#8217;s attorneys made <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-may-be-forced-to-miss-his-own-scotus-hearing-sons-graduation-due-to-hush-money-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">several requests</a> related to the trial schedule. Judge Juan Merchan denied their request for the former president to be excused from court in order to be in attendance when the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on presidential immunity. Merchan did not give a final answer regarding Barron Trump&#8217;s graduation ceremony — which is scheduled for mid-May &#8212; but told Trump&#8217;s team that it would depend on whether things were proceeding on time.
