Alexandria Duval, 37, of Haiku, Hawaii drove her Ford Explorer off the side of a cliff on the Hana Highway, killing her twin sister Anastasia Duval, and leaving Alex in critical condition. The incident occurred on May 29 and a rescue team had to airlift Alex to the nearest hospital.

The two sisters owned and operated a business called Twin Power Yoga in Florida. The video above is a commerical they produced.

Witness say the sisters were in a violent argument inside the vehicle minutes before they saw it accelerate, crashing through a rock wall, and plunging 200 feet onto a jagged shoreline. Reportedly, Ana was grabbing her Alex by the hair while she was driving which one witness speculates may have attributed to the fatal crash.
But authorities believe Alex intentionally went off the mountain to purposely kill her sister and have charged her with murder.
According to KHON2,
“Records say investigators found that there were no attempts of braking, based on witness accounts, roadway debris at the scene, and the vehicle’s airbag control module, which “showed that prior to and at the time of the vehicle’s collision into the wall, there was hard acceleration and a hard left steering input…”
Documents show that Alexandria tried to take a flight to the mainland on Wednesday but missed it, and that she was booked on another flight that night.
Her attorney, Todd Eddins, told the court she was not trying to evade the law.
“Miss Dadow is making plans to return home to attend her sister’s funeral,” he said. “There is no attempt to flee the jurisdiction with respect to any alleged crimes here.”
Eddins says the sisters ran a successful yoga studio in Florida, and that this has been a devastating, heart-shattering tragedy for the family.
“People have reasons for having a different name. There’s nothing to suggest that she came here with a fake name,” he said.
Records show that the sisters were arrested for disorderly conduct on Dec. 24. They posted bail but did not appear for their hearing, so a bench warrant was issued for their arrest.
Alexandria’s mugshot and court appearance are pictured below from Monday where a judge ordered that she be held without bail. Her preliminary hearing starts on Wednesday.

Maui Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Emlyn Higa said the sisters moved from Utah to the island in December and changed their last names to Higa.
The DailyMail notes that these gals were indeed sketchy,
“…the women closed their Florida studios abruptly and their time in Utah was fraught with financial and legal problems.
The twins were well known in Palm Beach, driving around in matching Porsches and shopping on Worth Avenue, the Star Advertiser reports.
They opened their first yoga studio in Palm Beach Gardens in 2008 and another in West Palm Beach in 2011.
But they left the state after closing the studios with no notice in 2014, according to the newspaper, without paying employees or reimbursing customers.
They resurfaced in Park City, Utah, and opened another studio – but filed for bankruptcy that year too.
Both sisters have lengthy criminal records too.
In Utah, the pair were arrested in five separate incidents linked to alcohol, according to GossipExtra,
Alexandria’s criminal record in Utah includes arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence, fleeing the scene of an accident and driving without insurance.
In January 2014, she was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Her sister Anastasia Duval was arrested near Ogden, Utah, in 2014 for public intoxication, assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and interference with an arrest.
She also had convictions in Florida for disorderly intoxication, battery and resisting arrest.”
