Sen. John McCain, who is suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer, now says he wishes he hadn’t chosen former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate in the 2008 presidential campaign.
McCain writes in his new book, “The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes, Great Fights, and other Appreciations,” that he really wanted to pick Joseph Lieberman, a Democrat and former senator from Connecticut. The two had worked together on many bipartisan bills and have been longtime friends.
