In a brand new documentary for The Daily Wire, host of “The Matt Walsh Show” and bestselling author Matt Walsh travels the globe to find the answer to one very simple question: What is a woman?
Walsh joined Fox News host Jesse Watters on Wednesday to talk about the new doc, titled “What Is a Woman?,” which will be available to stream exclusively for Daily Wire members in May 2022.
The “Johnny the Walrus” author told Watters the most “shocking” answers he received from so-called gender “experts,” doctors, activists, and elected officials when he asked them what a woman was were the “non-answers.”
“What was the most shocking answer that you encountered when you asked a basic question?” Watters asked Walsh, referring to the so-called “experts” with whom the podcast host spoke.
“The shocking answer is the non-answer,” Walsh responded. “When you realize that … this is what they talk about all of the time, they’ve made it their life’s calling, they’ve also convinced, somehow, society to take these ideas seriously, and then when you start asking questions about it … you realize, there’s nothing going on here, there’s nothing underneath the surface.”
Walsh emphasized that “gender ideology,” though it’s so mainstream, “collapses under the slightest bit of pressure.”
“What we discovered is, gender ideology — even though it’s taken over society and it’s become totally ubiquitous — it collapses under the slightest bit of pressure,” he said. “A couple of basic questions, and it crumbles right in front of you.”
Walsh said basic assertions — like sex and gender are different, or trans women are real women — could not be explained to him.
Announcing the documentary on Wednesday, The Daily Wire host said in a press release that the core of gender ideology is “hollow.”
“I sought out experts in every field in the gender theory world — doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, politicians, activists, and transgender people themselves — and I put the question to them directly,” he said. “I found — and you’ll see in the film — their arguments collapsed not with hammer blows or a hard push, but with simple questions, because the core of gender ideology is hollow.”
Along with pressing so-called gender “experts” and activists, Walsh lands interviews with top figures and concerned citizens on the other side of the issue for the documentary.
Radical gender ideology “has mounted pressure and cancelation campaigns against companies and individuals to scare them into adopting their agenda without ever having to give a coherent argument,” a Daily Wire press release said. Walsh’s documentary “allows their hollow arguments to speak for themselves — and come crashing down right before the viewers’ very eyes,” the release adds.
