On Wednesday, Daily Wire podcast host and author Matt Walsh appeared on an episode of &#8220;Dr. Phil,&#8221; which tackled radical left-wing gender ideology and featured numerous advocates for the gender theory, and opponents like Walsh and two parents who were pushing back on the ideology being taught in schools.
During a segment on so-called &#8220;theybies,&#8221; a parent explained why she did not &#8220;assign&#8221; her baby a gender a birth, but instead believes the child will tell the world their &#8220;gender identity&#8221; as they grow up.
The parent said when other people ask about her child&#8217;s gender, she tells the person something else, like that the child is starting preschool. According to the parent, it&#8217;s more relevant than &#8220;what&#8217;s in my child&#8217;s underpants,&#8221; referring to the baby&#8217;s genitals.
Walsh revealed after the show aired that he had pressed the parent&#8217;s ideology by asking if she would &#8220;let her kid choose his own race.&#8221; That question, though, never made it to the final cut of the show after editing.

The Daily Wire host, contrary to other panelists, said he &#8220;felt great&#8221; about the taping and what aired.
&#8220;Contrary to my fellow panelists, I felt great after the taping and feel even better now,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;That’s because I’m 100 percent confident in my view on the topic and everything they said was blatant nonsense which did not for even a second cause me to second guess my own perspective.&#8221;

As highlighted by The Daily Wire, Walsh <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-matt-walsh-stumps-lgbt-activist-on-dr-phil-show-what-is-a-woman">stumped</a> the two gender activists, who were unable to define the term woman, though they declared, “transgender women are women.”
In another segment, he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/matt-walsh-on-dr-phil-asked-why-he-cares-so-much-about-radical-gender-theory-his-answer-quiets-audience">quieted</a> the left-wing audience after he was mocked for apparently caring “so much” about the Left’s radical gender agenda.
“I care about the truth,” Walsh said. “So, basic truth matters. I wanna live in a society where people care about the truth and we’re grounded in truth. … I care about children, and these insane ideas about gender are being [foisted] on kids, and that bothers me quite a bit. I care about the women who are having their opportunities stolen from them. I care quite a bit, yeah.&#8221;
The day the episode was set to air, fellow panelist and “nonbinary” activist Addison posted a lengthy Instagram story accusing the “Dr. Phil” team of tricking Addison and fellow “nonbinary” activist Ethan to do the show under false pretenses. The post also claims Walsh’s pushback, which included asking Addison and Ethan to define the word woman, gave them “nightmares” and triggered anxiety. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dr-phil-aftermath-lgbt-activists-complain-matt-walsh-gave-them-nightmares-walsh-responds">The Daily Wire</a> reported on the Instagram story:
<blockquote>“About a month ago, Ethan and I were invited to be guests on the ‘Dr. Phil’ show to share our stories and discuss pronouns,” started the Instagram story from Addison, under the username “break the binary.” “We were excited for the opportunity to educate in a safe space. What ended up happening was much different than they discussed with us. And we left feeling attacked by another guest and played by the producers.”
“Since the taping, Ethan and I have been experiencing a heightened level of anxiety to the point that we’ve had numerous nightmares and depression spirals over the last month,” the story continued, adding that “this week has been the worse [sic].”
“Please send us both good vibes today. We could really use it,” Addison closed. “We tried our best with no preparation for what the ‘Dr. Phil’ show actually had planned behind our backs. And we hope our visibility inspires viewers.”</blockquote>
