<p>Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nancy-mace" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nancy Mace</a> (R-SC) said Tuesday that her push to ban men who identify as transgender women from being able to use women&#8217;s restrooms in the House was about protecting women in private spaces.</p>
<p>Mace introduced <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mace-introduces-bill-to-ban-men-from-using-womens-bathrooms-in-congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">legislation</a> this week that would force “members, officers, and employees of the House” to use bathrooms that correspond to their biological sex.</p>
<p>&#8220;If being a feminist makes me an extremist, I&#8217;m totally here for it,&#8221; Mace said.</p>
<p>A reporter asked Mace, &#8220;Is this effort in response in response to Congresswoman McBride coming to Congress?&#8221;</p>
<p>The bill was introduced as Democrats are preparing for their new member, Sarah McBride from Delaware, to become the first transgender member of Congress.</p>
<p>&#8220;Yes and absolutely, and then some,&#8221; Mace responded. &#8220;I&#8217;m not going to stand for a man, you know, when someone with a penis is in the women&#8217;s locker room, that&#8217;s not okay.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m a victim of abuse myself, I&#8217;m a rape survivor,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;I have PTSD from the abuse I&#8217;ve suffered at the hands of a man and I know how vulnerable women and girls are in private spaces.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;So, I’m absolutely 100% gonna stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a women’s restroom, in our locker rooms, in our changing rooms,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I will be there fighting you every step of the way.&#8221;</p>
