A U.K. hospital is reportedly dealing with a security breach by a staffer following Kate Middleton’s abdominal surgery in January.

On Wednesday, the CEO of the London Clinic said it will take “regulatory and disciplinary steps” against the member of the staff who allegedly breached the Princess of Wales’ medical records.

“Everyone at the London Clinic is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties with regards to patient confidentiality,” Al Russell said in a statement to the New York Post.

“We take enormous pride in the outstanding care and discretion we aim to deliver for all our patients that put their trust in us every day,” the statement added.

The statement said it has “systems in place to monitor [the] management of patient information,” and that if there were a breach, “all appropriate investigatory, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken. There is no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or colleagues.”

The statement comes a day after The Mirror reported that an insider told them a staffer had tried to get access to Middleton’s medical records while she was staying there in January. The insider called the alleged breach “incredibly damaging for the hospital, given its unblemished reputation for treating members of the Royal Family.”

The hospital reportedly contacted the royal household of the Princess and Prince of Wales about the possible breach, the outlet noted.

“The whole medical staff have been left utterly shocked and distraught over the allegations and were very hurt that a trusted colleague could have allegedly been responsible for such a breach of trust and ethics,” the insider added.

Kate Middleton was spotted recently shopping near her home in Windsor, looking “happy, relaxed and healthy” amid a slew of rumors following her surgery and absence from public events.

The Princess of Wales was joined by her husband, Prince William, on an outing to the Windsor Farm Shop, about a mile from their Adelaide Cottage. This was her first public outing since undergoing abdominal surgery, as reported by the British tabloid The Sun.

Speculation about Princess Kate’s health and whereabouts reached a fever pitch last week after Kensington Palace shared a family photo of Middleton and her children in honor of U.K. Mother’s Day. However, hours after it appeared in publications, the Associated Press issued a “kill notification” on the photo it said had been “manipulated.” Later, the palace acknowledged the photo had been edited.

In January, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that the Princess of Wales would remain in the hospital for up to two weeks before being released to continue her recovery at home. The statement said she would not return to royal public duties until after Easter.
