<p>Former Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/liz-cheney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Liz Cheney</a> (R-WY) said on Sunday she would not rule out a presidential run.</p>
<p>&#8220;No, I&#8217;m not,&#8221; Cheney said after being asked by anchor Jake Tapper in an interview on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union.&#8221;</p>
<p>Moments earlier, Tapper pressed Cheney on whether she would vote for President Joe Biden over former President Donald Trump.</p>

<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to see what happens. We&#8217;re going to see how things unfold,&#8221; Cheney said.</p>
<p>Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, called Trump a &#8220;threat&#8221; and said she would &#8220;imagine that there will be a number of other candidates in the race.&#8221;</p>
<p>She also said Biden is more effective on the international stage than Trump, but Cheney conceded that she thought Biden&#8217;s withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan was &#8220;probably the biggest mistake that we made post-9/11.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump is running a 2024 campaign for a second term in the White House and has <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dominated</a> Republican presidential nomination polls in a field with several other candidates. If he prevails in the primary contest, Trump is poised to have a 2020 rematch against Biden.</p>
<p>Cheney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-liz-cheney-destroyed-in-wyoming-gop-primary-trump-responds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost</a> her primary last year to now-Rep. Harriet Hageman, who was endorsed by Trump, after establishing herself as a top foe of the &#8220;MAGA&#8221; movement and serving as vice chairwoman of the January 6 Committee.</p>

<p>The former lawmaker said she is &#8220;definitely&#8221; going to spend next year helping to elect &#8220;serious&#8221; and &#8220;sane&#8221; people in both major parties to Congress.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have got to elect people who believe in the Constitution and who take their responsibility seriously to Congress,&#8221; Cheney said.</p>
<p>Cheney was once the third-ranking Republican in the House, but acknowledged that she does not carry so much sway in the current GOP conference. On the topic of the GOP-led House finding a new speaker, Cheney demurred.</p>
<p>&#8220;I hesitate to endorse anybody because I think that won&#8217;t be helpful for them,&#8221; Cheney said.</p>
<p>After leaving Congress, Cheney <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/liz-cheney-lands-on-her-feet-with-gig-at-university-of-virginia">landed</a> a position as a professor of politics at the University of Virginia earlier this year and has been working on a <a href="https://www.axios.com/2023/09/20/liz-cheney-book-cover-new" target="_blank" rel="noopener">book</a> that is due out in December.</p>
<p>Cheney told Tapper the book would offer a &#8220;cautionary tale&#8221; on how the Republican conference embraced Trump.</p>
