Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), whose fiery and impassioned defense of Judge Brett Kavanaugh has assumed near-legendary status, had a swift response for a protester who told Graham that Kavanuagh should take a lie-detector test. Without missing a beat, Graham turned to the protester and snapped, “Why don’t we dunk him in the water and see if he floats.”
Graham’s response triggered cheers on Twitter:
After the release of the report from the FBI investigation into Judge Kavanaugh, Graham stated bluntly, “It’s a complete report; it’s a background check. I’m confident the FBI did a good job; they were not hindered in any way. The focus on the background check was on credible allegations before the committee. I was looking for certain things to be answered by witnesses. I’m more confident than ever that what the committee found has held up, and then some. The main thing, for me, is that you need to go to the FBI, and you need to ask them did they feel like they were able to do their job without interference, and I think the answer is yes.”
