Author J.K. Rowling slammed the idea she’s “right wing” simply because she cares “about child safeguarding,” and said she’s been on the “liberal left all her adult life.”
Rowling, the famed “Harry Potter” author who has been the target of transgender rights activists because of her defense of biological women, made several comments on Twitter Friday, explaining that “future historians” will be able to trace the path of the culture as it relates to radical gender ideology.
“I say this as someone who’s been on the liberal left all her adult life: own goals don’t come any more spectacular than ‘if you care about child safeguarding you must be right wing,’” Rowling tweeted to her 13 million plus followers.
“The crazy thing about this is, it’s all been documented virtually minute to minute,” the famed author added in response to a question about how we ended up here. “Future historians won’t be struggling to find out how this cultural moment happened: think how many books, blogs, videos, speeches and documentaries will be available to them.”

On Wednesday, Rowling blasted “genderists” for excusing Dr. Jacob Breslow after it was revealed that the “paedophilia apologist” had been allowed to sit on the board of trustees at the transgender children’s charity Mermaids, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
“I note the genderists are now arguing that it doesn’t matter that a paedophilia apologist was a trustee of a trans children’s charity, because he was ‘only one,’ You know, I thought things were pretty bad when you were arguing to put convicted rapists in women’s jails,” Rowling tweeted.

“You still prefer willful blindness and four word mantras to considering you might have got this badly wrong,” Rowling continued. “You became part of an authoritarian, misogynist, homophobic movement and you didn’t even notice. Enjoy the sense of your own righteousness while you can. It won’t last.”

The author previously spoke out against the Scottish female First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who has supported that government’s Gender Recognition Reform Bill.
On Thursday, Rowling tweeted a photo showing her wearing a black T-shirt with a message that read, “Nicola Sturgeon: destroyer of women’s rights,” BBC noted.
She captioned her post, “I stand in solidarity with @ForWomenScot and all women protesting and speaking outside the Scottish parliament. #NoToSelfID.”
Rowling recently slammed Scotland’s transgender bill that would lower the age at which a trans person can legally change their gender from 18 to 16 and receive a new birth certificate with their gender on it through easier means than before, which she said will hurt “the most vulnerable” women, as previously reported.
