<p>Author <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jk-rowling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">J.K. Rowling</a> slammed the idea she&#8217;s &#8220;right wing&#8221; simply because she cares &#8220;about child safeguarding,&#8221; and said she&#8217;s been on the &#8220;liberal left all her adult life.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rowling, the famed &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; author who has been the target of transgender rights activists because of her defense of biological women, made several comments on Twitter Friday, explaining that &#8220;future historians&#8221; will be able to trace the path of the culture as it relates to radical gender ideology.</p>
<p>&#8220;I say this as someone who&#8217;s been on the liberal left all her adult life: own goals don&#8217;t come any more spectacular than &#8216;if you care about child safeguarding you must be right wing,’” Rowling <a href="https://twitter.com/jk_rowling/status/1578415857461391360?s=20&amp;t=8i_C-1WvlhkWSbjpzXnY_w" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> to her 13 million plus followers.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/platinum-jubilee-judge-defends-choice-to-remove-j-k-rowling-from-reading-list" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rowling</a> blasted &#8220;genderists&#8221; for excusing Dr. Jacob Breslow after it was revealed that the &#8220;paedophilia apologist&#8221; had been allowed to sit on the board of trustees at the transgender children&#8217;s charity Mermaids, as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/j-k-rowling-takes-apart-genderists-for-excusing-paedophilia-apologist-trustee-of-childrens-charity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> previously reported.</p>
<p>&#8220;I note the genderists are now arguing that it doesn&#8217;t matter that a paedophilia apologist was a trustee of a trans children&#8217;s charity, because he was &#8216;only one,&#8217; You know, I thought things were pretty bad when you were arguing to put convicted rapists in women&#8217;s jails,&#8221; Rowling tweeted.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/twitter-deletes-trans-activist-video-with-j-k-rowling-death-threat-after-initially-saying-it-didnt-violate-safety-policies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">author</a> previously spoke out against the Scottish female First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who has supported that government&#8217;s Gender Recognition Reform Bill.</p>
<p>On Thursday, Rowling tweeted a photo showing her wearing a black T-shirt with a message that read, &#8220;Nicola Sturgeon: destroyer of women&#8217;s rights,&#8221; <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-63170808" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BBC</a> noted.</p>
<p>She captioned her post, &#8220;I stand in solidarity with @ForWomenScot and all women protesting and speaking outside the Scottish parliament. #NoToSelfID.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rowling recently slammed Scotland&#8217;s transgender bill that would lower the age at which a trans person can legally change their gender from 18 to 16 and receive a new birth certificate with their gender on it through easier means than before, which she said will hurt &#8220;the most vulnerable&#8221; women, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/j-k-rowling-slams-new-transgender-bill-she-says-will-hurt-the-most-vulnerable-women" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
