A left-wing publication faced backlash this week for citing an anonymous law enforcement official who said that it was unlikely officials will find out who brought cocaine into the White House.
Secret Service confirmed on Wednesday that the substance, which was discovered Sunday night, was, in fact, cocaine after additional testing was done.
POLITICO reported that a “official familiar with the investigation” said that it was unlikely that they would ever know who brought the illicit substance into the White House.
“It’s gonna be very difficult for us to do that because of where it was,” the official claimed. “Even if there were surveillance cameras, unless you were waving it around, it may not have been caught.”
The report was slammed online by a wide range of different media and political figures.
“We can now accurately predict all future headlines,” said Scott Adams. “Here’s one we all knew was coming.”

The popular Twitter account David Burge wrote: “Apparently the clever cocaine dropper was able to elude the 24/7 saturation security cameras like a ninja cat burglar parkouring through a diamond museum’s laser beams.”
“This means it was Hunter,” claimed radio host Dana Loesch. “Good thing it wasn’t an explosive or anything. Maybe the White House should invest in 24/7 security camer– oh wait.”
