Kathy Griffin Says Her Next Photoshoot Will Feature Severed Head Of Mike Pence

Unfunny comedian Kathy Griffin’s career imploded after she posted pictures of herself holding a bloody severed head made up to look like President Trump.

That happened in May 2017. She all but disappeared as criticism over the stunt was fierce. By last November, she had come unglued. The D-list comedian posted a bizarre video to her YouTube page called “State of the Union,” in which she said, “I’m admitting that I lost my mind.”

The 57-year-old claimed she’s on Interpol’s list and is being shunned by Hollywood. “I know I took a picture that offended a lot of people, but this wall of crap has never fallen on any woman in the history of America like it has on me,” she said.

Now, she’s planning a comeback. While she’s done some shows overseas, she hasn’t had a domestic gig since the fallout over the photos.

“I’m dipping my toes into touring again even though the Trumps and nobody wants me to work again,” Griffin told Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time Friday night. She’ll start at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., which Griffin joked is right in “Trump’s backyard.”

Maher has been one of the few to support Griffin, and on his show she said, “Thank you for being one of the first and only people to publicly support me and say what happened is bullshit, publicly.”

Maher again defended her. “You took a very bad selfie,” he said. “I blame the photographer… it turned out to be very wacky.”

Griffin continued to whine about her plight following her very poor judgment to post the offensive pictures. “I was detained at every single airport,” she said. “They scan your passport. They put me in a detention room. … There were times when they took my devices. When you’re in that moment, you’re at the mercy of the one or two people in that room.”

And she again insisted she was on Interpol’s international criminals list, to which Maher joked, “You were on the D-list. Now you’re on the no-fly list.”

Although Griffin held a press conference in which she cried, bemoaning her bad fortune, it was clear that she has not changed her stripes. At the end of the segment with Maher, she said she planned to pose with Mike Pence’s severed head for her next photoshoot.

“Just kidding! Ten months I waited to do that joke. Ten months!”
