Kamala Harris Blasted Over Delayed Statement Condemning Pro-Hamas Extremists

Vice President Kamala Harris faced backlash on Thursday for taking a full day to release a statement condemning pro-Hamas extremists who violently rioted in the nation’s capital in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivering a speech to the U.S. Congress.

The far-Left extremists tore down American flags and burned them while chanting “Allahu Akbar” and waving Hamas terrorist flags. Numerous videos posted online also showed them attacking law enforcement officials.

The United States Park Police (USPP) released a statement saying that officers had arrested eight extremists at the riot at Columbus Circle because they “damaged and destroyed park property, including vandalizing statues and fountains, tearing down and burning flags, and starting several small fires.”

While scores of Republicans immediately condemned the violence and extremism, only a few Democrats did. Several more eventually condemned the violence, but only after a day had passed.

“Yesterday, at Union Station in Washington, D.C. we saw despicable acts by unpatriotic protestors and dangerous hate-fueled rhetoric,” Harris said in a statement. “I condemn any individuals associating with the brutal terrorist organization Hamas, which has vowed to annihilate the State of Israel and kill Jews. Pro-Hamas graffiti and rhetoric is abhorrent and we must not tolerate it in our nation.”

“I condemn the burning of the American flag,” she continued. “That flag is a symbol of our highest ideals as a nation and represents the promise of America. It should never be desecrated in that way. I support the right to peacefully protest, but let’s be clear: Antisemitism, hate and violence of any kind have no place in our nation.”

Harris was slammed over the statement, not only because it took her a full day to condemn the violence, but also because she said in an interview that pro-Hamas protesters, the same protesters involved in the riots that rocked college campuses earlier this year, “are showing exactly what the human emotion should be” in response to Israel’s war against genocidal Hamas terrorists.

“It took Kamala an entire day to issue a statement,” said Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI). “I guess they wanted to see how the polling looked before attacking her Hamas base.”

Rep Brian Mast (R-FL) responded to Harris’ statement on X: “It took you 24 hours to speak out against your supporters burning our American flag, attacking police, and defacing statues of George Washington. Shame.”

Axiom Strategists VP of Communications Matt Wolking noted that Harris made “no mention of the physical violence against police officers, and no call for prosecution.”

Former Trump Campaign Director of Communications Tim Murtaugh said: “When you begin the statement with the word ‘yesterday’ it means you had to think about it too much, and also probably needed time to warn some people on the radical left that it was coming.”
