First lady Jill Biden used her appearance on ABC’s “The View” to join the cohosts in peddling the fear of what might happen if her husband, incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden, were to lose his re-election bid in November.
The first lady hashed it out with cohost Joy Behar — who, like most of her cohosts on the midday talk show, appears to be in a state of panic over the possibility that former President Donald Trump could win another term in the White House.

Joy Behar rages to Jill Biden about how people call Joe Biden mentally and physically unfit for office.
She claims he’s “right on top of it,” “competent,” and “alert” while Trump is “doddering and doesn’t remember anything and can’t put a sentence together and has brain farts…” pic.twitter.com/kGyDhsyVIr— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) May 29, 2024
Behar began by praising President Biden, brushing off concerns that he was not “competent” to continue in the Oval Office and saying that when she met him, he was “right on top of it” and “alert.”
Jill agreed that the president was fit, confirming Behar’s claim that he “worked out every day.”
“The other one is doddering and doesn’t remember anything and can’t put a sentence together and has brain farts in the middle of a paragraph,” Behar said of Trump, prompting laughs from the audience.

“This election is not about age,” Biden replied, noting that Trump was nearly the same age as her husband — although some, like comedian Bill Maher, have pointed out that despite his age, Trump still “presents” as much younger than Biden.
Cohost Sara Haines then brought up the upcoming debate between Biden and Trump, saying that she believed debates were important as long as there were guardrails in place to rein Trump in. She made no mention of the fact that during the first 2020 presidential debate, Biden was the first one to interrupt and the first one to engage in name-calling.

The First Lady concluded with her worries about what could happen if Trump were able to return to office and potentially get the chance to appoint a fourth Supreme Court Justice.
“Can you imagine if we put any more Republicans on the Supreme Court?” Biden asked, her eyes wide. “No! We will lose all of our rights! So we’re talking about women’s rights, gay rights … we will lose all our rights and freedoms.”
