Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden made his first in-person public appearance in over two months on Monday, appearing with former Second Lady Jill Biden near their Delaware home to lay a Memorial Day wreath at a veterans park. 
The outing marks the first time Biden has appeared in-person since Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) dropped out of the presidential race in mid-April over forty days ago, a move that cemented the former vice president’s standing as the presumptive Democratic nominee for the 2020 general election. 
According to <a href="https://apnews.com/63bc4cbe662c1fe67878952209d737f4">The Associated Press</a>, the former vice president abruptly canceled his last scheduled public appearance, an Ohio rally on March 10. <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/25/politics/joe-biden-leaves-home-memorial-day/index.html">CNN</a> reports that in the time since, Biden has only left his home for “personal reasons, like walks or bike rides.”
In the week following the Biden campaign’s canceled March rally, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency and the first local governments started to implement the stay-at-home measures that would roil across the country in the subsequent weeks. 
Although Trump has significantly scaled back trips, the president has recently made public and private appearances outside the White House grounds, including a trip to the Ford factory in Michigan, and a short golfing trip over the weekend that prompted backlash from left-wing media outlets and the presumptive Democratic nominee himself. 
“[T]he president is moving around the course in a golf cart alone but is golfing with three partners,” remarked Jason Hoffman, who tweeted out two grainy pictures a CNN photographer captured of the president taking time off over the long weekend. “None of the men are wearing masks.”

After Jenna Ellis, the Trump campaign’s senior legal advisor, mocked CNN for reaching a new level of &#8220;Karen&#8221; ⁠— a shorthand term that has recently become <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feminists-worry-that-internet-karen-meme-is-mired-in-sexism">synonymous</a> with a nosy, social-distance enforcing neighborhood busybody ⁠— Biden took the opportunity to bash the president for “tweeting” from his golf cart.

On Wednesday, in her eagerness to jump on the Biden for president bandwagon following former Vice President Joe Biden’s strong showing in the Super Tuesday primaries, Whoopi Goldberg of “The View” posited that Biden’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, should become the Surgeon General of the United States.
One problem: Jill Biden is not a doctor of medicine; she has a doctorate in education.
Whoops.
During a discussion with the panel of prospective candidates for a Biden cabinet, Goldberg enthused, &#8220;I&#8217;m hoping Dr. Jill becomes the surgeon general, Joe Biden’s wife, he would never do it, but she&#8217;s a hell of a doctor. She&#8217;s an amazing doctor,&#8221; prompting co-host Meghan McCain to start to point out the truth. Goldberg then backtracked, &#8220;I could be wrong. I thought she was —,” followed by co-host Sunny Hostin explaining, &#8220;She&#8217;s a teacher, but, you know, might be good for Betsy DeVos&#8217; post.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/whoopi-goldberg-jill-biden-doctor-surgeon-general">Fox News</a> pointed out, &#8220;Dr. Jill Biden received her doctoral degree in education leadership from the University of Delaware in 2007. Although her husband&#8217;s health has become a topic of discussion in 2020, the former second lady does not have experience working as a physician.”
Goldberg later turned to the audience, laughing, &#8220;I was wrong, before you start texting and emailing.”
Prior to Goldberg’s miscue, ABC’s Jonathan Karl told the panel that he didn’t think Biden had made any promises to any of the erstwhile presidential candidates about positions in a Biden administration, but then added, “Clearly these are going to be important people going forward; Pete Buttigieg, the moment of maximum influence, he used it; he supported Biden. Klobuchar is almost certainly going to be on the short list for vice president; I don’t know if she’s ultimately going to be his running mate, but she’ll be on that list.”
In April 2019, as reported by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whoopi-chides-biden-accusers-if-someone-makes-you-james-barrett">The Daily Wire</a>, after a former Democratic Nevada state senator came forward to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/45317/i-was-mortified-former-democrat-senator-accuses-ryan-saavedra">accuse</a> Joe Biden of inappropriately touching her at a campaign rally in 2014, Goldberg defended Biden, asserting:

Goldberg replied, &#8220;No, it&#8217;s not if somebody touches you inappropriately.”
She later added,: &#8220;I want women to get to the place where they can say, ‘Hey, you just made me uncomfortable.’ This idea that you have to tiptoe away from this, or you have to carry it. You do not have to carry it. If someone makes you uncomfortable, tell them. He came down to do you a favor; he was at your fundraiser. You had every right to say &#8230; &#8216;Don’t do that Joe&#8217; &#8230; You have to stop &#8230; mischaracterizing stuff.&#8221;

Jill Biden says the constant attacks on her husband by President Trump is evidence that the president is “afraid” to run against the former vice president.
&#8220;Well, you know, when Joe and I decided to run for president, when we made that decision, we knew it was going to be tough,&#8221; Jill Biden said Saturday on MSNBC.
&#8220;But we never could have imagined that it would turn into, that Donald Trump would be asking a foreign government to get involved in our elections, and I think, you know, Donald Trump has shown us who he is, and this has been a real distraction,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And I think it just proves that he&#8217;s afraid to run against my husband, Joe Biden.&#8221;
Trump has repeatedly hit Joe Biden, who served with President Obama for eight years. Most national polls show Biden is still the frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
The president has also targeted Hunter Biden, Joe Biden&#8217;s son, allegedly asking Ukraine to investigate the Bidens over corruption allegations linked to Hunter Biden&#8217;s work for Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company that was under investigation.
On that topic, Jill Biden said Hunter Biden did nothing wrong.
&#8220;I know my son&#8217;s character,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Hunter did nothing wrong, and that&#8217;s the bottom line.&#8221;
&#8220;I think any parent who is watching this show knows that if anyone attacked their son or daughter, I mean, you don&#8217;t just sit down and take it. You fight for your kid,&#8221; she added. “And I think that just shows, you know, Joe is going to stand up to bullies, and bullies like Donald Trump.”
&#8220;That&#8217;s bullying,&#8221; Jill Biden said on MSNBC, comparing Hunter Biden to other &#8220;children&#8221; bullied by the president, despite Hunter being around 50 years old. &#8220;Look at what the president did this week with that 16-year-old girl, Greta. You can&#8217;t attack children. That&#8217;s the bottom line.&#8221;
Jill Biden also said her husband, who recently turned 77, is not considering serving just one term, as some reports suggested.
&#8220;He has a lot of energy,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Most of the time I have to say to him in the morning like, &#8216;Joe, just wait until I have my coffee until you start with this idea or that idea.'&#8221;
Jill Biden&#8217;s energetic defense of her husband is much different from what she said back in August.
She said then that her husband might not be the best candidate, but told voters, “maybe you have to swallow a little bit” and vote for him anyway.
“Your candidate might be better on, I don’t know, health care, than Joe is,” Jill Biden said on MSNBC, “but you’ve got to look at who’s going to win this election, and maybe you have to swallow a little bit and say, ‘OK, I personally like so-and-so better,’ but your bottom line has to be that we have to beat Trump.”
During a campaign stop in New Hampshire, she said: “I know that not all of you are committed to my husband, and I respect that. But I want you to think about your candidate, his or her electability, and who’s going to win this race. So I think if your goal — I know my goal — is to beat Donald Trump, we have to have someone who can beat him,” she said.

That&#8217;s basically the message from Dr. Jill Biden, wife of presidential hopeful and former Vice President Joe Biden, who recently told Democrats that they might have to &#8220;swallow a little bit&#8221; in order to vote for her lackluster husband, since, like it or not, he&#8217;s the most electable candidate in the field.
&#8220;Your candidate might be better on, I don&#8217;t know, healthcare, than Joe is,&#8221; Mrs. Biden said, &#8220;but you&#8217;ve got to look at who&#8217;s going to win this election, and maybe you have to swallow a little bit and say, &#8216;Okay, I personally like so-and-so better,&#8217; but your bottom line has to be that we have to beat Trump.&#8221;
Rough stuff.
It&#8217;s a decent argument, but one you might expect to hear from a competing Democratic candidate who was bested in the primary, not a candidate&#8217;s wife, before the primary has really gotten underway, to boot. 
&#8220;Yes, I know that not all of you are committed to my husband, and I respect that,&#8221; Mrs. Biden continued, &#8220;but I want you to think about your candidate, his or her electability, and who&#8217;s going to win this race.&#8221;
&#8220;If you&#8217;re looking at that, you&#8217;ve got to look at the polls,&#8221; the former Second Lady said, noting that people should ignore the &#8220;polls don&#8217;t mean anything&#8221; chants because of their consistency: &#8220;If they&#8217;re consistent, and they&#8217;re consistently saying the same thing, I think you can&#8217;t dismiss that.&#8221;
&#8220;If your goal is to beat Donald Trump, we have to get someone who can beat Donald Trump,&#8221; she added, emphasizing that Democrats need to gain on Independent and disaffected Republican voters.

The stakes are higher. The threat is more serious. We have to beat Donald Trump. We have to beat Donald Trump, and all the polls agree — Joe Biden is the strongest Democrat to do the job,&#8221; the narrator in the ad says, as reported by <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/08/20/biden_campaign_launches_first_tv_ad_all_the_polls_agree_joe_biden_is_the_strongest_democrat.html">Real Clear Politics</a>.
Despite gaffe after gaffe, Biden has been the consistent frontrunner in the Democrat field. In a CNN/SSRS <a href="http://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2019/images/08/19/rel9a.-.democrats.2020.pdf">poll</a> released on Tuesday, Biden&#8217;s support surged from 22% to 29% from June to August. The closest Democrat candidate to Biden is Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), with 15%; Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) lands in third with 14%.

According to <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_biden-6247.html">RealClearPolitics</a>, former Vice President Joe Biden, who is the present polling front-runner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, leads President Donald Trump in national head-to-head polling matchups by an average of 8.1%. But in what can only be deemed an alarming poll for the president&#8217;s re-election chances, a new Quinnipiac University <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=0000016b-28da-dc80-a3ff-fbfedc700000">poll</a> even shows Biden leading a head-to-head matchup against Trump in the bright red state of Texas. According to Quinnipiac, Biden is the only Democratic presidential candidate who would currently defeat Trump in the Lone Star State &#8212; although many other hypothetical matchups polled within the margin of error.
Per <a href="https://www.politico.com/story/2019/06/05/biden-beating-trump-texas-poll-1355285">Politico</a>:

The Quinnipiac University poll shows that Joe Biden would top Trump by four points &#8212; 48 percent to 44 percent &#8212; in a general election matchup there, an outcome the ruby red state hasn&#8217;t seen in four decades.

Fascinatingly, as Politico also notes, &#8220;the next strongest candidate in the state [after Biden] was Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who the poll found losing to the president by only 1 point, 46 percent to 45 percent.&#8221; 
National Democrats invested a lot of money in Texas during the last election cycle in an attempt to boost former congressman Rep. Beto O&#8217;Rourke&#8217;s (D-TX) bid to unseat incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). Cruz was ultimately successfully re-elected, but by a statewide margin that was far too close for comfort for many conservatives. Down-ballot Republicans in Texas also suffered great political carnage as a result of the combination of national Democratic money that flooded into the state and the option of mass, readily available straight-ticket voting.
Conservatives frequently fret about the political future of Texas. After all, it is difficult to envision a Republican Party majority in the Electoral College absent Texas, assuming anything short of a fundamental partisan realignment between the two major parties.
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/44759/reuters-admits-they-sat-bombshell-beto-orourke-ryan-saavedra">reported</a> in March, Reuters admitted that it intentionally refused to go public with a story, during the heat of the Cruz/O&#8217;Rourke race, that O&#8217;Rourke belonged to a grotesque online hacker group:

Washington is in an uproar and all abuzz and in a buzzing uproar and an uproarious buzzing roar of buzziness about Robert Mueller&#8217;s latest statement on the Mueller report.
Mueller said, &#8220;I come before you today to clarify my report by making vague accusations and contradictory statements until even the things we thought we knew become uncertain and the things that were uncertain become entirely incomprehensible.&#8221; Mueller then refused to take questions, saying that could only confuse matters because he himself didn&#8217;t understand what he&#8217;d just said.
Democrats on the campaign trail reacted to the statement immediately. Kamala Harris told reporters, &#8220;Mueller&#8217;s latest statement makes it absolutely imperative that we continue to distract people from the fact our policies will destroy the country.&#8221; Joe Biden chimed in by telling a ten-year-old girl, &#8220;My god, but you&#8217;re beautiful. And you smell so nice. Let me touch you.&#8221; And Beto O&#8217;Rourke repeatedly shouted, &#8220;Hello, is anybody there?&#8221; into an empty auditorium.
In the House of Representatives, Congressman Jerry Nadler addressed a group of trolls who were carrying the great battering ram Grond to the kingdom of Gondor, saying, &#8220;Before Mueller clarified his report rendering it incomprehensible, we might have gone ahead with impeachment and thus torn our party and our country asunder, but after his statement that&#8217;s still the plan. Now fly, fly, my fellow trolls, and do not return until you have laid waste to Minas Tirith.&#8221;
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reacted to the Mueller statement by saying, &#8220;Until now, I have tried to silence the voices calling for impeachment because those voices were disembodied and seemed to come from everywhere at once, making me think I might have imagined them, like that time I woke up in Sacramento married to an enormous stuffed panda because I thought I heard him propose to me when that was really coming from the toaster.&#8221;
Pelosi then refused to take questions because it worked for Mueller and he didn&#8217;t make any sense either.

Dr. Jill Biden, wife of former vice president-turned-2020 presidential candiate Joe Biden, wants the Democrats to &#8220;move on&#8221; from her husband&#8217;s role in Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas&#8217; 1991 confirmation hearing, and his handling of sexual harassment claims made against Thomas by law professor Anita Hill.
<a href="https://www.npr.org/2019/05/07/720696969/jill-biden-says-it-s-time-to-move-on-from-anita-hill-controversy">In an interview with NPR</a>, Dr. Biden expressed a view very much at odds with mainstream Democrats, who are more concerned now than ever about sexual mores and ethics, in an apparent attempt to deflect criticism from her husband, who Democrats now say did not do enough to ensure Hill was heard and respected.
&#8220;I watched the hearings like most other Americans, and so I mean Joe said, as I did, we believed Anita Hill. He voted against Clarence Thomas,&#8221; Dr. Biden told NPR host Rachel Martin. &#8220;And as he has said, I mean he&#8217;s called Anita Hill, they&#8217;ve talked, they&#8217;ve spoken, and he said, you know, he feels badly. He apologized for the way the hearings were run. And so now it&#8217;s kind of &#8212; it&#8217;s time to move on.&#8221;
Martin followed up by asking Dr. Biden why her husband waited until right before he launched a presidential campaign to call Hill and apologize &#8212; something Joe Biden admitted to on ABC&#8217;s &#8220;The View.&#8221;
&#8220;Well, I guess it was just not the right time maybe,&#8221; Dr. Biden replied. &#8220;So, he wanted to call her. I think he didn&#8217;t know whether she would take his call, and he was so happy that he she did take his call, and they spoke. And I think he was, you know, I think they came to an agreement.&#8221;
Joe Biden called Anita Hill sometime in early April as he was preparing his entry into the 2020 Democratic primary. Biden claims that he &#8220;expressed regret&#8221; for the way Hill was treated by members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Hill told The New York Times, in response, that she &#8220;declined to characterize his words to her as an apology&#8221; and urged female voters not to support Biden&#8217;s run.
Hill&#8217;s relationship with Joe Biden is likely to come up again and again across his campaign, and Biden clearly plans to be asked why he, as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, didn&#8217;t stop Republican members from asking Hill personal questions and probing into why Hill didn&#8217;t report Thomas&#8217; &#8220;suggestive&#8221; and &#8220;harassing&#8221; behavior to human resources at the time, and whether Hill had fabricated her story from whole cloth after being turned down by Thomas for a romantic relationship.
But Biden isn&#8217;t just under fire for what Republicans did; Democrats seem to believe that Biden abrogated his duty to protect Hill when he joined in questioning her. When Biden appeared on The View, host Joy Behar prodded him to apologize to Hill, to which Biden responded, &#8220;If you go back and look at what I said and didn&#8217;t say, I don&#8217;t think I treated her badly.&#8221;
Dr. Jill Biden also brushed aside questions of Biden&#8217;s personal behavior and whether his habit of being overly &#8220;affectionate&#8221; towards women should factor in to an assessment of his fitness to hold office.
&#8220;He connects with people. And I think that&#8217;s one of his strengths. And he heard [Lucy Flores] loud and clear, and he said he would take responsibility and he would you know honor people&#8217;s space,&#8221; she said, adding that Joe Biden&#8217;s whole family is strangely affectionate. &#8220;And now these are different times. Joe realizes these are different times. And believe me &#8212; he&#8217;s very conscious of, you know, how he interacts with men and women today.&#8221;
The same critics aren&#8217;t likely to be happy with Dr. Jill Biden telling them to &#8220;move on,&#8221; especially those who would prefer Biden lose the 2020 primary to someone further left.

It&#8217;s almost as if a candidate&#8217;s skin color and genitals aren&#8217;t the main factors voters are concerned about.
A <a href="https://emersonpolling.reportablenews.com/pr/april-national-poll-bernie-takes-lead-for-democratic-nomination-mayor-pete-on-the-move">new poll</a> from Emerson College of Democrat primary voters found that the party&#8217;s current frontrunners are all white men. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) leads with 29% of the vote, with former Vice President Joe Biden trailing behind him at 24%. South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg follows them at 9% and former Texas Rep. Beto O&#8217;Rourke and California Sen. Kamala Harris are right behind at 8% each. Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren rounds out the leaders at 7%.
The remaining contenders polled at 3% and below, starting with former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro and entrepreneur Andrew Yang. In last place &#8211; behind even &#8220;Someone else,&#8221; is New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who has so far built her campaign on claims that women are oppressed in America.

The playing field would change, obviously, if Biden decides not to run. Sanders would pick up 31% of Biden supporters, Buttigieg would get 17%, and O&#8217;Rourke would get 13% of them.
With Biden still possibly in the race, the head-to-head matchups paint a different picture of each candidate&#8217;s potential. Biden would easily beat Trump 53% to 47%, while Sanders (51% to 48%), O&#8217;Rourke (51% to 49%), and Harris (50% to 50%) would be too close to call. Up against Buttigieg and Warren, Trump could win.
Democrats might have some problems when it comes to the issues moving forward toward election year. Voters were split on one of the top campaign topics heading into 2020: The border wall. 47% of those polled said they supported building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, while 45% opposed. Democrats are not only running against the wall, but some are also running to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Those polled also do not want currently incarcerated individuals to be allowed to vote, but 65% said that felons who had served their time should be allowed to vote.
It is interesting to see that the top candidates continue to be white men, even as the party focuses on identity politics. It is, however, still too early for anyone to be absolutely sure who the eventual nominee will be. Once the debates start, it will become clear who will remain and who will go (and who will <a href="https://observer.com/2015/09/the-scott-walker-flameout/">flame out spectacularly</a> like former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker did in 2015).
This is just one poll, but it has to hurt that 11 of the 20 candidates are polling behind &#8220;Someone else.&#8221;

Call him &#8220;The Golden Boy.&#8221;
For Democrats distraught that Donald Trump is president, Joe Biden is the savior who will ride into town on a white horse on January 20, 2021 to save America. Or, more likely, he&#8217;ll just take Amtrak.
Many of the most recent polls put Biden at the top. In the Real Clear Politics rolling average, which keeps track of all 2020 presidential polls, Biden is far ahead of Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders, 32.8% to 12.3%. A poll in January by Emerson College even put Biden at 45% to Sanders&#8217; 5%.
He&#8217;d be 78 years old if he were to run and be elected. And even though he&#8217;s been on the public payroll for nearly 50 years, Biden appears ready to seek the top government paycheck &#8212; $400,000 for the job of President of the United States.
But as 2019 rolls on and Democrats plan to hold their first debate in June, less than than four months from today, some in the party are having second thoughts about ridin&#8217; with Biden.
&#8220;This last election cycle, we&#8217;ve seen a whole new level of energy that has emerged through a lot of fresh faces, and the party has moved in that direction and wants to hear new ideas and different messages,&#8221; Norm Sterzenbach, a former executive director of the Iowa Democratic Party, told <a href="https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/election/campaigns/article226007090.html">McClatchy</a>.
Jim Manley, a longtime Democratic operative, told the news agency: &#8220;I&#8217;m not convinced Biden is the right way to go at this point in time. The folks I&#8217;ve talked to are a little taken aback. No one quite understands where it&#8217;s coming from.&#8221;
In all, McClatchy interviewed more than 30 Democratic strategists &#8212; &#8220;pollsters, opposition research experts, media consultants, ex-party officials, and communications specialists&#8221; &#8212; and the consensus was not good for Uncle Joe.

Strikingly, these conversations yielded a similar view: The Democratic political community is more broadly and deeply pessimistic about Biden&#8217;s potential candidacy than is commonly known. While these strategists said they respect Biden, they cited significant disadvantages for his campaign &#8212; from the increasingly liberal and non-white Democratic electorate to policy baggage from his years in the Senate and a field of rivals that includes new, fresh-faced candidates.
&#8220;Among political professionals, there are deep concerns because we know the history,&#8221; said a Pennsylvania-based Democratic strategist, granted anonymity to speak candidly about a party elder. &#8220;We have reason to be skeptical of the hype. We heard it with Hillary, and we saw it happened,&#8221; the source added. &#8220;And there&#8217;s a lot of reason to think he would wind up a significantly weaker candidate than Hillary.&#8221;

And like Hillary Clinton, who got crushed in the 2016 election, Biden despises all Trump supporters. While the former Secretary of State under Barack Obama famously called Republicans &#8220;deplorables,&#8221; Biden deems them &#8220;virulent people, some of them the dregs of society.&#8221;
Biden, who was vice president under America&#8217;s first black president, plans to make the race about, um, race. &#8220;It&#8217;s what these guys are all about, man,&#8221; Biden said, turning on the folksy charm in a sit down with Al Sharpton. &#8220;These Republicans don&#8217;t want working-class people voting. They don&#8217;t want black folks voting.&#8221;
But the plagiarist with the thinning hair plugs and fake chompers brings a whole slew of baggage to 2020 (along with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the very white Massachusetts Democrat who claims to be Native American). He&#8217;s already run for president twice, in 1988 and again in 2008, both times coming up well short.
That all seems ages ago now. Even his tenure in the White House seems decades ago. Things have changed dramatically, and the Democrats &#8212; while flirting with Biden and Sanders and Warren &#8212; will likely opt for a far younger and more diverse candidate.
As Jim Cauley, a Kentucky-based Democratic strategist, said to McClatchy: &#8220;Let&#8217;s be honest: He&#8217;s an older white guy. Does he connect with the base?&#8221;

On Tuesday, Vanderbilt MBA student and former U.S. Army Officer Taylor Allen Force was killed by a Palestinian terrorist at the port city of Jaffa, a cross-cultural hub bustling with tourists and exchange students. He was 28 years old. Eleven others were injured during the attack, including Force&#8217;s wife. She remains in critical condition, receiving treatment at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon. The terrorist&#8217;s victims also included a pregnant woman and a Russian tourist.

A high-profile U.S. diplomatic delegation was in Israel at the time. &#8220;U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said on Wednesday his wife Jill and their grandchildren were dining on a Tel Aviv beach when a Palestinian killed an American tourist with a knife and wounded 11 other people on the seafront &#8216;not very far&#8217; away,&#8221; <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-israel-palestinians-idUSKCN0WB0WR">reports</a> Reuters.
After hearing about the tragedy, the Vice President offered his condolences to the Force family and the people of Israel, condemning Tuesday&#8217;s violent attack. &#8220;Let me say in no uncertain terms: the United States of America condemns these acts and condemns the failure to condemn these acts. This cannot become an accepted modus operandi,&#8221; <a href="http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/198330/how-you-can-support-the-family-of-taylor-force-the-american-student-murdered-in-israel">said </a>Biden, <a href="http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/198330/how-you-can-support-the-family-of-taylor-force-the-american-student-murdered-in-israel">adding</a>:

As Biden mentioned, Force was among the best and brightest America had to offer. He was a student of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He was expected to graduate in 2017. A native of Lubbock, Texas, Force embraced the opportunity to take his studies to Israel where he tackled the field of global entrepreneurship. Here&#8217;s what he <a href="http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/198330/how-you-can-support-the-family-of-taylor-force-the-american-student-murdered-in-israel">said</a> about the prospect of studying abroad:

Vanderbilt&#8217;s Chancellor, Nicholas Zeppos, released a statement to the campus community mourning Force&#8217;s loss. The <a href="http://news.vanderbilt.edu/2016/03/message-from-chancellor-zeppos-on-student-death-in-israel/">statement</a> is worth citing in full:

Taylor embarked on this trip to expand his understanding of global entrepreneurship and also to share his insights and knowledge with start-ups in Israel. This horrific act of violence has robbed our Vanderbilt family of a young hopeful life and all of the bright promise that he held for bettering our greater world.

Force&#8217;s death is not just a loss to Vanderbilt, but the entire country. Before pursuing his MBA, Force served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. A West Point graduate, Force worked as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Armed Forces. 
True to his name, Force served his country with conviction, pride, and force, harnessing the skills he learned in the military in pursuit of the American dream. 
In a reflective eulogy, entitled &#8220;<a href="http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/198321/mourning-the-loss-of-taylor-force">Mourning the Loss of Taylor Force</a>,&#8221; Tablet Magazine&#8217;s Liel Leibovitz writes:

In a fact-filled <a href="https://t.co/XS4TFEODZC">column</a> for The Federalist, R.J. Lehmann points out that The New York Times has virtually eliminated any reference to GOP presidential candidate and renowned doctor Ben Carson as Dr. Ben Carson, while continually referring to Vice &#8211;President Joe Biden&#8217;s wife Jill, who holds a doctorate in education, as Dr.Jill Biden.
Despite Carson&#8217;s legendary career as a neurosurgeon, including his successful separation of Siamese twins, through October 26, 2015, Carson was mentioned in the Times 373 times, with only 32 instances where the first mention of him in the piece called him &#8220;Dr,&#8221; and only 13 occurrences on second reference.
Biden, on the other hand, has elicited 61 mentions, with seven references as &#8220;Dr.&#8221; on first reference and another seven times on second reference.
Thus data shows Carson has been called &#8220;Dr.&#8221; in 12.1% of the Times stories in which his name appears; Biden, comparatively, 23.0%. In Times blogs, Biden&#8217;s name has appeared 58 times, called &#8220;Dr.&#8221; on first reference 28 times, amounting to 48.3% of the time; Carson&#8217;s name has appeared 191 times, and called &#8216;Dr.&#8221; only 11 times, 8.9% of the time.
Lehmann notes, &#8220;Even if one is charitable about the many times she was referred to as &#8216;Dr. Jill Biden&#8217; in political and national desk stories where only her status as second lady was actually relevant, Biden has received the title on first reference in stories from the <a href="http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9D03E7D91331F935A35755C0A9669D8B63">style desk</a>, on the <a href="http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/25/michael-schur-on-the-parks-and-recreation-series-finale/">ArtsBeat blog</a>, and even on the <a href="http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/10/19/live-soon-rangers-cardinals-world-series-game-1/">Bats baseball blog</a>. In none of these cases is her status as a doctor of education even remotely relevant.&#8221;
Lehmann then points out exactly how hypocritical the Times is: &#8220;Incidentally, our prior second lady, Lynne Cheney, holds a PhD in British literature from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. By my count, her name has appeared in The New York Times or its blogs 293 times. She has been identified as &#8220;Dr.&#8221; on either first or second reference exactly zero times.&#8221;

It is instructive to remember that even before Barack Obama was elected to the White House, the Times dutifully <a href="v">gushed</a> that their leftist icon was a law professor, echoing his own repeated claims that he was a &#8220;constitutional law professor&#8221; a complete <a href="http://www.factcheck.org/2008/03/obama-a-constitutional-law-professor/">falsehood</a>.
Should it be surprising that the Times is unwilling to acknowledge the achievements of a GOP presidential candidate while lying about their own preferred candidate?
